7 Chapter 7 - To be an idol(3)
Lee Soo Min handed the guitar to Kyle and said, "Here. Also, I didn't touch anything."
Kyle received the guitar and said, "Thank you."
Then he checked if the guitar was in tune and played the chords inside his head. He nodded his head in approval.
Playing guitar was one of the hobbies that he picked up when he was a kid. Mom told him that this guitar was used by his father, AKA her mom's late husband, whenever he serenaded her. Mom always smiled whenever she told him her and father's story, and Kyle wanted to bring happiness to his mom's face, so he learned how to play guitar.
"Are you alright, Kyle-ssi?" Lee Soo Min tapped Kyle's shoulder after seeing Kyle's expressionless face.
Kyle heard and nodded. He took a deep breath, exhaled, and said, "Everything is good, Soo Min! Let's start already."
Lee Soo Min didn't know what was going on in his mind behind that subtle smiling face, but she was not in any position to ask him his secret. She nodded as she looked at him through the camera and said, "Okay, starting in 3, 2, 1 action!"
[ When I Ran To You ]
Kyle started his song with a captivating short guitar performance to set the mood. Even Lee Soo Min felt butterflies in her stomach as soon as he started. Soon after, the first verse began.
♪♬ There I was, an empty piece of a pod ♪♬
♪♬ Getting lost in my own world ♪♬
♪♬ I didn't even what love and life were all about ♪♬
Lee Soo Min couldn't help but blush at Kyle's singing voice. Of course, she already heard him sing yesterday but seeing him sing face-to-face, was on a whole other level.
He was singing those with a soothing and sweet tone while occasionally smiling.

♪♬ You took me out of the pod♪♬
♪♬ You gave the world to me ♪♬
♪♬ I didn't even notice ♪♬
♪♬There I was, so in love with you ♪♬
'Please don't smile at me like that!' Lee Soo Min was currently shouting inside her head. Kyle couldn't do anything about it since he was doing it unconsciously.
Lee Soo Min assumed that the song was about his girlfriend or ex maybe. But she wouldn't know since there are many artists out there that had inspirations writing songs by observing other people. Maybe Kyle was one of them.
Then, the chorus came.

♪♬ Yes, I've gone past the existence ♪♬
♪♬ And it all began when I ran to you ♪♬
At this moment, Lee Soo Min felt her heart beating loudly and is on the verge of bursting with thoughts 'To the future fans of Kyle-ssi, ready your hearts for the insane vocals! ' Immediately after, the 2nd verse began.
♪♬ I adore the feel of your hair, gazing deep into your eyes ♪♬
♪♬ I'm quite certain, my heart's allure, signs that I've found something pure♪♬
♪♬ Your love, a beacon bright, dispels all my worries where they can't bother me♪♬
Lee Soo Min imagined herself in the position of the girl. They were sitting on the grass while leaning on each other, her boyfriend pampered and doted on by her with loving eyes while caressing her hair.
She smiled at the thought and then continued to listen to the song.

By the time the song ended, Kyle was unknowingly crying as tears drop on his smooth.
"Why am I crying? Why wouldn't it stop?'' Kyle murmured as he wiped the tears from his face with bare hands.
Lee Soo Min was still dazed after the song ended and the song left a smile on her face. The entire song was like a gift meant for someone you love and he was serenading her using that song. She thought and looked at Kyle and was dumbfounded seeing him.
"W-why are you crying? " Lee Soo stuttered as she tried to comfort him.
"Ah Soo Min-nim, I'm sorry but can you please leave for a moment? I'm embarrassed you see me like this. I'll call you later when I'm ready"
Lee Soo Min wanted to stay with him but she wasn't in a position to comfort him. She sighed and left after she stopped the camera from recording.

Back in the room, Kyle was seen crying as he sat on the floor. He was wiping his tears again and again. His mind was blurry and right now, all he wants to do was cry.
It lasted for almost half an hour before his crying stopped. Now he was standing and wanted to drink water to alleviate his sore throat. But then changed his direction to his mom's room.
He was scared but he felt like his question will be answered here in this room. The room was almost covered by white clothes covers. He revealed all covered furniture and looked around the room again.
The room was similar to his bedroom except for the picture frame facing downwards beside her mom's bed. He lifted the picture and saw him as a kid withheld by his mom's arms playing. The picture captured their most candid moment.
As he was admiring the photo, a new memory played before him. It was a conversation between the original Kyle and his mom on her deathbed. The memory went like this.

"You know, I felt alone in this world when my husband left me. My children won't visit me. I thought then I will only live and die in this world, alone. Then, I tried to walk around the street to find solace from the faces of the people, and by the time I stopped, I found myself in front of an orphanage and that's where I met you, little one" she said those words in hoarse voice while staring at empty air.
Kyle was crying as he nodded. He already knew that story but he also felt like it was his first time hearing it.
"Can you sing for me for the last time, son?"
Kyle hearing that was momentarily shocked and held his mom's hand tightly. He knew what his mom means by those words.
"Yes, mom. Then I'll sing the song I prepared for a while now. Please rest well while I sing"
"My cute son is really talented, Haha" She then closed her eyes while lying on a hospital bed.
Kyle then sang the song 'When I met you'. It was meant a song meant to recapture the sweet and beautiful moments when his mom was being serenaded by her husband. And by the time the song ended, her mom died while leaving a smile on her face. The memory came to a stop as Kyle cried out loud in a hospital room.

By the time the memory ended, Kyle felt like a wisp of cloud left him and said 'Thank you, Kyle, for singing the original version'.
"No, I'm the one who must thank you for giving me parental love" Kyle also said his thanks but original Kyle did not reply. 'Seems like he was gone'
He sighed and looked around the room again "Now, what do I do with mom's room? Yup, let's clean it first! "
