21 Small favour

A week later, I was sitting in the dojo owned by Yan Huang's family.

This week had been quite chaotic to say the least.

But at least I was able to keep my position as the friend character.

All three of them had come to tell me their stories and what made them main characters, though I already knew all of this. It was actually quite hard to act shocked and pretend I didn't know a thing when they told me all of this.

But in the end, I was able to do it.

With this secret revealed, my position did change.

It was impossible for me to remain as the best friend character who knew nothing about the main characters.

Instead, I became the best friend character who knew their secrets and openly supported them in their fight.

This still meant that I would be the best friend character, it was just that there were more things that would be available to me.

This had passed through my mind before, but it was so unlikely to happen that I never thought about making it happen.

So now that it did happen, I was very excited about it.

As for what I was doing in this dojo on a weekend, it was because Yan Huang had called me here to help him with a small favour. He had even said that I was the only one that could help him with this favour.

I was confused why he called me here, but naturally I was happy to help as the best friend character.

But now I was just sitting here alone after being shown in.

Yan Huang had gone off by himself to take care of something and said that he would be back soon.

I couldn't help looking around the dojo as I sat there.

This was a dojo that was owned by Yan Huang's family and I had to admit that this place really was something else.

This place fully had the vibe of a main character's place of training with all the different weapons and dummies that lined the walls of this place. I really could feel like I was deep into the plot when I was in a place like this.

And the more that I felt this way, the more excited I felt.

While I was looking around with passionate eyes, the door opened and closed without me noticing.

The other thing that I didn't notice was…Yan Huang had gathered some silver energy in his palm and pointed it at the door. After pointing this silver energy at the door, it went right into it and disappeared without a trace.

After seeing this, Yan Huang gave a satisfied nod and said in a soft voice, "Everything's ready now."

Then he walked up right behind me and poked me in the back to say, "I'm ready now."

I couldn't help jumping up in my chair since I had been too focused on the dojo that I didn't notice Yan Huang until now.

After falling back down, I couldn't help patting my chest in relief when I saw that it was just Yan Huang.

Then I raised a brow as I looked at him and asked, "So what did you call me here for?"

Yan Huang had looked confident until he heard what I asked.

As soon as my voice fell, he immediately looked away from me and there was a blush that appeared on his cheeks.

It was as if there was something that he found hard to say.

I couldn't help feeling even more confused when I saw him like this, but then I raised my hand and tapped his chest with the back of my hand before saying, "Come on, we're best friends, there's nothing that you need to hide from me."

What confused me was that when my hand made contact with his chest, there was an even stronger blush that appeared on his cheeks.

At the same time, he looked down at my hand with wide eyes as if he couldn't believe what was happening.

I couldn't help feeling very strange when this happened, almost as if I was doing something wrong.

So I quickly took my hand back and asked, "Is something wrong?"

Yan Huang didn't answer right away and instead took a moment to calm himself.

Taking a deep breath, he then said, "No, there's nothing wrong, it's just that there's been some things that I've been hiding from you."

"Hiding from me?" I repeated before saying, "Well, I'm sure that you've had your reasons, but that doesn't mean that we're not best friends. Even to the end, I'll be your best friend."

For some reason, I felt that something was off, so I quickly said this.

After hearing me say this, Yan Huang revealed a faint smile, but I could tell that there was a hint of bitterness in that smile.

It was almost as if…he was unhappy with my answer.

Eh?

Was that the wrong answer?

I felt that there wasn't anything wrong with what I said, but Yan Huang didn't seem to like it.

Still, Yan Huang didn't seem to dwell on this for long as he revealed a serious look and said, "Well, the things that I've been hiding from you are related to the favour that I want to ask of you."

I gave a nod in response and waited to see what he had to say.

But it seemed like he was hesitating about saying what he wanted to say.

So I said, "It's alright, you can tell me anything."

Yan Huang revealed a faint smile before giving a nod and saying, "The favour that I have to ask is a personal one. You should know that I've been fighting the Four Evil Omens the entire time, but I'll return to a normal life once I defeat them."

I gave a slow nod in response.

Yan Huang then said, "To adjust to that normal life afterwards, I'll need your help."

Once again, I gave a slow nod as I said, "Alright, I'll do what I can to help you."

Yan Huang revealed a wide smile when he heard this.

Then he took a step forward and reached his arms out around me before taking me in his embrace and saying, "I need you to be my boyfriend."
