2 Qilin (2)

I had been watching the two of them fight through the window of this convenience store the entire time.

Though to the people around me, it seemed like I was really focused on the magazine in my hand.

When they saw what was on the cover of that magazine…many of them looked at me with disdain. However, I didn't care at all about them as I was focused on the fight outside.

It really was an amazing fight, it was just too bad that no one else was able to see it.

Once the fight was over, the azure haired young man just stood there for a while staring at where the demon had been before dusting his clothes off.

He picked up the bag that had been tossed on the side and walked over towards this convenience store.

He came right into the convenience store and looked around as if he was looking for someone.

When his eyes fell onto me, he walked over and said, "Sorry, did I keep you waiting?"

I shook my head and said, "No, not at all. I was just enjoying some light reading while you were gone."

As I said this, the azure haired young man looked down at the magazine in my hand.

It took him a while to process what I was reading, but when he did, there was a blush that appeared on his face as he said, "Light reading? What kind of light reading is this?"

He reached a hand up and formed a fist before punching at me.

One might think that this would have knocked me out based on how he had been fighting the demon just now, but it was just a light tap on the shoulder.

After 'punching' me like this, he said, "Why are you always like this? You should take things more seriously. Not to mention…reading something like this in public…" After saying this, he looked around us to see some people staring in our direction.

When they saw him looking at them, they quickly turned away with a blush on their face.

After all, this azure haired young man was quite handsome.

I just said with a smile, "Of course I'm taking it seriously, Yan Huang. I'm doing research so I can help you with all the lady troubles that you're facing."

The moment that he heard this, the azure haired young man revealed a sad and distant look.

After giving a sigh, he said, "I already said that I don't have any lady troubles. We are just friends."

I revealed a sly smile as I poked his arm with my elbow before saying, "Friends you say. You might start off as friends, but who knows what you'll be in the future."

While poking him, I missed his arm and accidentally poked him in the chest.

When that happened, Yan Huang looked down at his chest before looking at my arm before his face turned red. He quickly raised his arms to cover his chest before saying in an angry voice, "I'm done with you. I'm going home."

Without even giving me a chance to say anything, he turned and immediately walked out of the store.

As I watched him walk away, I couldn't help revealing a faint smile.

This azure haired young man was named Yan Huang and as the demon had said, he was the Qilin's Descendant.

He was the one that was supposed to fight the Four Evil Omens with the Four Sacred Beast Guardians and seal them away forever. Or at least that was what I had gathered from listening in on the fights that he had.

As for who I was, I was Lin Fan, the friend of the main character.

I was that supporting friend who helped keep the main character's spirits up with my jokes and support. I was the one that didn't actually help in battle and just helped the main character become a better main character.

Others might not be satisfied with this role, but this role was perfect for me and I took pride in fulfilling this role.

That was why I did all that I could to play this role properly.

Including deliberately reading this naughty magazine.

The lady friends that I was referring to were the Four Sacred Beast Guardians and I knew that the relationship between them wasn't like that. But it could be since that was usually how things turned out.

So I did all that I could to be Yan Huang's wingman.

I would do all that I could so that he could enjoy the proper main character experience.

That was the pride that I took as the ultimate supporting best friend character!

After Yan Huang left the store, I waited for a minute before putting the magazine back and leaving the store as well.

After leaving, I acted like I didn't see him waiting around the corner and looked around for him. After pretending to look around for a bit, I finally 'found' him and ran over with a smile on my face.

I waved at him and said, "Alright, alright, I'm sorry about that. Let's go get some food before we go home."

Yan Huang had been deliberately moving slowly during this time, as he waited for me to catch up to him.

When I came over, he turned around right away and said with an angry voice, "Only if you promise that you'll never look at things like that again."

I was surprised that he was still hung up about that, but this was an easy matter to deal with.

I just quickly gave a nod and said, "Sure, I won't read those kinds of magazines again."

Yan Huang immediately revealed a wide smile and said, "Alright, then let's get some food. I'm already starving."

I shook my head with a smile on my face before moving forward to wrap my arm around his shoulder.

When that happened, Yan Huang jolted and there was a faint blush that appeared around his cheek. But then that blush disappeared and he just gave a sigh as he said, "Do you have to get so physical all the time?"

I said with the same smile, "We're best friends aren't we?"

There was a smile that also appeared on Yan Huang's face when he heard this, but it almost seemed a bit stiff as he said, "Yes, we're best friends."

But there almost seemed to be an exasperated tone in his voice as he said this that I didn't understand.

So I just ignored it and dragged him off to get some food.
