5 The second rematch

(3rd Person POV)

*BOOOM*

The ship holding the Path—and Kenobi—aboard crashes to the ground. Vader stands there still not moving from his spot. The former youngling is holding her hands close to her body and is in pain. She looks at Vader who isn't even looking at her anymore. He is turned towards the ship which is now on the ground. 

Vader could feel that the thrusters weren't damaged that much and the pilots were contemplating about whether they should try again. So Vader was ready and would use the Force at any given moment to pull them back down again. 

Inside the ship, Obi-Wan Kenobi was in thought. He wanted to let the Path and Leia escape. But to do that, he would have to face his former apprentice and Padawan, Anakin ... or what was left of him. He has been running up to this point, but as he looks around the ship and into the scared faces of everyone on board, he comes to a conclusion. It is time to face his past and stop running from it. 

"Close the hatch after me. As soon as there is an opportunity, leave Jabiim.", Kenobi says and everyone looks frightened and unsure. But hearing the strong voice and the smile on Kenobi's face, they nod their heads. Obi-Wan opens the door and exits the ship walking towards Vader with slow steps.

Meanwhile, the former youngling and former Inquisitor, Reva is using the pain to fuel her anger and hatred for Vader and using the Force, she manages to hold her Lightsaber still. She takes deep breaths as she sees Kenobi approach. Vader uses the Force again and splits the decoy ship in half, to make way for Kenobi. 

After a moment, Kenobi stands in front of Vader a short distance away. He puts down his coat and his expression is that of certainty and conviction. He knows what he must do, something that he hasn't done for over 10 years now. But this is something he must do and therefore, the Jedi has steeled his nerves. 

"Have you come to destroy me ... Obi-Wan?", Vader asks.

"I will do what I must.", Kenobi answers him and ignites his Lightsaber. He gets into a battle stance. His left hand points towards Vader and his right-hand holds his Lighsaber ready for combat. Kenobi looks towards Reva and they make eye contact. 

After a second they both nod. An understanding has formed between them. They will now band together and fight Vader, although Kenobi believes that this is his mistake to correct, alone. But he won't refuse the help of the former Jedi youngling. 

Reva also gets into a stance and prepares for a fight. Vader meanwhile hasn't stopped looking at Kenobi. He had been waiting for this for a long time. A decade of hunting, killing and enduring pain, as well as growing stronger through that pain only to now stand against the one that did this to his body.

Vader still hasn't used his own lightsaber. He can feel the rage and pain of the girl and he knows that she will attack first. She has never learned the patience of a Jedi and her impulsiveness will be her undoing. Because if she were smart, she would use Kenobi to fight Vader, but she is blinded and that is something that Vader will use against her. 

As he predicted, Reva attacks him with a battle cry. 

"Aaaarrrrhhh", she screams and does an overhead strike. 

Vader dodges that easily. Reva turns and wants to swing her saber around, but her elbow is blocked by Vader using telekinesis. She tries to use her special lightsaber and activates the second blade to surprise him, but he tilts his body slightly getting out of the way. Reva twirls her double-bladed lightsaber around making Vader take a step back. 

But Vader didn't take a step back due to her, he does that because of the sneak attack from Obi-Wan. A blue lightsaber passes the position Vader was, right in front of his mask. He uses telekinesis to pull the girl forward and threatens to impale Kenobi. But the Jedi still has his instincts and his skills are slowly getting back to him, so he manages to dodge that. 

Now Reva is in front of Vader again and tries to skillfully use her double-bladed lightsaber to attack. Vader scoffs at her attempt to use this Lightsaber. 

"Your use of the Saberstaff is pathetic.", Vader remarks and fuels her anger even more. She tries to stab him but he deflects the blade and blocks an attack coming from Kenobi from the left side. Reva is surprised about this and is pulled forward because she doesn't let go of the lightsaber. 

She is now right in between Vader and Kenobi. Vader then uses Force Push and pushes Reva into Kenobi, knocking the Jedi back quite a distance. This leaves a short time for the other two to fight, but Reva is just that much weaker than Vader. She again tries to hit him but it is no use. She again tries to pierce him and Vader does the same thing he did before. 

He dodges and holds her hand, which holds the lightsaber, in a telekinetic grip, slowly pressing it together. 

"Aaaaarrrghhh!", she screams as her use of the Force, which she used to stabilize her hand, is overwhelmed slowly. In a desperate attempt to stop him, she uses her other hand and tries to Force Push Vader back. She manages to use Force Push, but ... it doesn't work that well. 

However, Vader looks up and sees Obi-Wan in the air. He used Force Jump to launch himself in the air and gain the high ground again. Vader however does not play around. He extends his other hand, which is not gripping Reva's hand and uses Kenobi's momentum to throw him away into the rocky wall.

A kick lands on Vader's suit and pushes him back as it is enhanced with the Force. Reva is now panting heavily and looks at Vader with more anger but now ... also with more fear. She is just about to attack again, but is surprised when her hand holding the lightsaber, suddenly ... breaks.

*CRACK*

"AAAARRRRGGHH!", she screams in surprise and pain. 

"Did you believe that I let go, girl?", Vader asks as he slowly approaches her. This time her fear is overwhelmed with fear. She tries her best as she changes hands and uses her left hand to hold her lightsaber. She activates the fast-spinning ability of her lightsaber and tries to use it as a shield. 

But it is useless and won't work. Vader still advances slowly and using his growing control over Force telekinesis, he slows down the spinning blades until they stop completely. Reva, who was clenching her jaw in a desperate attempt to stop Vader, now has an almost resigned look on her face. Vader uses the Force to take the lightsaber away from her. 

He holds it in front of him and breaks it apart. Then he deactivates one and throws it at Reva's feet. This is not just defeat. This is complete and utter humiliation and a show of dominance. Reva grabbed the lightsaber and then attacked again. But it was an embarrassing display. Vader blocked everything and then slashed at her midsection. 

But just before he could do that, his lightsaber stopped. He looked back and saw Kenobi holding his hand out. The Jedi has recovered from the strong hit. Using Vader's ‚distracted' state, Reva attacked but again without success. Her strength had diminished greatly and she was no longer able to challenge Vader in the slightest. Not that she could before but now … it was not nice to witness.

Vader used the lightsaber to block Kenobi's strikes. The Jedi was trying to make Vader stop what he was doing. He was still the same in his heart even if he had to hide for a decade. Nevertheless, he was out of practice and no matter his state of mind, he could not handle a Darth Vader that had been fighting for a decade and was now without limits and grew stronger continuously. Vader then used Force Choke to choke Kenobi. 

The Jedi was lifted into the air. He understood that this would be his end if he didn't do anything. So he immediately used all his strength and the Force to reinforce his neck to the extreme and protect himself from getting his neck broken. But that wasn't what Vader wanted in the first place. He looked at Reva and pointed his palm at her body.

At that moment a Shatterpoint appeared on Reva's body. Kenobi's eyes widened when he saw that it was known that Made Windu had this ability and it was normally not learnable. But here Vader was capable of using it.

Vader pumped more and more of the Force energy into a particular point he found. Reva began to scream out in pain. Vader was not killing her, at least not only. But he was also giving her tremendous amounts of pain. 

"Did you really believe I did not see it ... youngling?", Vader asks her as blood starts to leak out of her mouth. She is convulsing and can't even scream anymore due to the blood filling her lungs, ever so slowly. All the blood in her body is slowly pressing itself into her lungs and oesophagus. 

"You are of no further use.", Vader remarks. 

"Noo!", Kenobi manages to say as he is still struggling. He manages to force himself out of Vader's grasp and falls to the ground. He activates his lightsaber and attacks Vader. But the latter defends himself masterfully. He blocks each of Obi-Wan's attacks and focuses on him. 

That's the moment, the 'Path' has been waiting for. They started the engines and very quickly rose into the air. Using high speeds they shot into the air and left the place. Vader noticed them leaving and allowed that to happen. Why would he not want them to leave safely? 

Vader continued to block each of Obi-Wan's attacks and deflected them with increasing skill and decreasing difficulty. There was no way that Obi-Wan could win this fight ... no way. And that became apparent as Vader gained more ease and even stopped fighting for a second. He raised his hand and Reva, who had by this point lost all capabilities for defence, rose into the air. Kenobi saw this and attacked again. But what happened next surprised and revolted him. As he was defending against Kenobi's onslaught, Vader's hand slowly but surely closed and that had lethal effects. 

Ever so slowly, the body of Reva began to compress. First, the limbs were pressed together and then the midsection. The legs and arms broke in multiple places and they folded themselves together until the only thing left of the former Inquisitor was a small ball of flesh and blood.

Kenobi watched this happen and had his eyes wide open. He was disgusted and looked at Vader with contempt and sadness. He couldn't believe that the man he raised and trained for all those years would do something like this. 

"Why? ... Why would you do that to her?", he asks.

"Because ... she dared to endanger her.", Vader only said. 

"What? What are you- ... no."

"Yes."

"NO! That's impossible!", Kenobi says. 

"As impossible for me to walk and fight again, Obi-Wan?", Vader asks. 

"But if you know then ... why?"

Vader didn't answer and instead threw away the lightsaber he was holding. It was now time to fight Obi-Wan and for that, he would take his own. He ignited his lightsaber and then attacked his former Master. They got into a battle. Obi-Wan focuses more on defence and using the possible openings to strike and Darth Vader uses Form V, the aggressive form. This one had been adjusted to suit his current situation better and it was getting stronger the more he used it. 

It became apparent though that Darth Vader had much more training in the last decade and he was overwhelming Obi-Wan more and more. Obi-Wan tried to use the Force to throw pieces of the broken spaceship at Vader, but they were all blocked and Vader didn't even throw them back at Obi-Wan. He only used his lightsaber and the Force as a defence.

The fight was going on for a few minutes and they both knew that the end result would likely not look good for the Jedi. Vader then used the Force, lifted his foot and stomped on the ground. This created big cracks and caused the earth under Obi-Wan to crack and crumble, creating a big crater. Darth Vader then began to lift pieces of debris and stones and threw them at Obi-Wan, who tried to defend himself with the Force.

In his desperation, Obi-Wan remembered the nice things he had experienced. He remembered his friends in the Order, he remembered teaching the young Anakin, and he remembered Leia and Luke whom he was watching over. These things gave him strength and he managed to push all the debris and stone away in a powerful blast. 

Obi-Wan stood in front of Vader and used the refound strength in the Force to fire big pieces of stone at him. But the Sith Lord didn't bother with those. He held up his hand and like Neo from The Matrix stopped all the projectiles before they could hit him. His constant use of Force Telekinesis has resulted in him making big progress in it today. 

"I see you found your strength again, Obi-Wan. It is not enough.", Vader remarks and lets everything fall to the ground. They resume their lightsaber combat and the intensity is much higher than before. This is what Vader wanted and it is this that will make him more powerful. In an especially quick succession of strikes and a final punch, Vader manages to disarm Obi-Wan and holds both his and the Jedi's lightsaber in his hands. It looks the same way as it did, back during the clone wars when he had killed Count Dooku.

"Anakin."

"Anakin is dead, Obi-Wan."

"I'm sorry Anakin ... for all of it."

"I am not your failure ... Obi-Wan. You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker ... I did."

"Then my friend is truly gone.", Obi-Wan says resigning himself to his fate. But the deadly blow never comes ...
