7 I Am Here!

Seth looked down at two deformed humans with torn mouths, their organs and intestines dragging along the gravel from their torn stomachs, causing Elena behind him to whimper.

A sickening wet sound echoed with each step, causing Elena to whimper with her teeth rattling, a sign of her current fear.

I won't force her to accept things. This woman is the only human in this world apart from my mother that I can count on.

Luckily, my assistant could purchase more cases of my ACP rounds... unlike novels and games, it seemed they didn't drop loot, only morale and will.

Bang! Bang!

With two shots, Seth took the lives of a young child and a deformed old male who crawled along the ground.

Elena held her gun to shoot but seemed to need a gentle push.

He was now used to the recoil of his large calibre pistol, allowing them to push forward and reach their destination.

"Elena, do you understand now? You cannot keep showing them mercy." Seth spoke with a stern voice but tried to keep a soft tone.

He didn't want to scold her with harsh words. Instead, he wanted to help her decide to while keeping his eyes in the distance.

Although a few corpses were shambling closer, they were fine. So he reloaded his pistol.

"Seth... I know... I know, but I'm scared..."

Seth couldn't help but feel a little bad seeing her eyes and realising that he was also in the wrong.

However, what could he do? So he took a glance ahead. He saw a few zombies over 900 metres away, so the surrounding area was relatively clear and safe.

"Come here." Seth opened his arms as Elena rushed forward, throwing herself into his arms.

The stress and fear seemed to vanish as her body trembled. While Seth felt the smell of her perfume was pleasant and soothing, like strawberries and vanilla.

"I'm sorry, Elena—this is selfish of me. I need your help, so I forced you into this. Can you forgive me for being so strict, making you endure this hell?"

'I realised my thoughts were wrong. This isn't just a novel, but real life. I needed to think more logically and forget the plot and other things. Mother and Elena, I should stop treating them so conveniently.'

Seth hugged Elena tightly, feeling her breathing and heartbeat against his chest—it was fast and irregular, causing him to worry about her mental state.

"You're not wrong, and I can tell you want to help me grow. Seth! You're my fiancée! If you need my help, I will be there for you—even if you are selfish, I want to be selfish too!"

600 metres.

"I want to protect you, Seth! So don't leave me alone!" Her trembling stopped.

Seth could feel that Elena was becoming more confident as she tightened her grip around his back—her face pressed against his broad chest while whispering.

500 metres.

"Seth, can you teach me to be strong like you? I can fight humans and protect people from bullets but monsters. I... I just..."

He gazed down at her soft blond hair and the warmth of her body; for the first time, Seth felt alive in this world—it was real to him.

Seth felt her powerful emotions, positive and negative, entwined. So he couldn't stop himself before lifting her chin. A beauty with puffy red eyes filled with tears and trembling lips with smeared lip gloss.

"My tutorship isn't cheap, little princess," Seth smirked while wiping her eyes with his thumbs, causing Elena to giggle as she leaned forward and whispered.

"Money isn't an issue. Mister Darkwood." Her words were gentle but carried a strange teasing tone—she enjoyed acting tough and childish, but it seemed she had many sides that Seth wished to explore.

300 metres.

"I don't want money—I want you." His voice trailed off before he lifted her chin gently, prompting the innocent girl's eyes to close instinctively as she awaited his kiss—however, Seth couldn't help but tease her, so instead, he planted his lips on her forehead and softly kissed her.

"When we get home, Elena."

Thump!

Her face turned red before she realised Seth stepped back and pointed his gun at the approaching group of stage one.

Clack!

"Lesson one: The zombies will die with trauma to their brains just like the movies, so try to either headshots or aim for their legs to slow them down."

200 metres

"Aim, Elena." Seth stood behind her and guided Elena's arms to raise her gun while standing beside her—his chest pushed against her soft shoulders while whispering gently to her ear.

"I trust you, Elena."

Thump! Thump!

Elena's heart raced as she realised Seth trusted her enough to watch his back while she aimed down the iron sights of her gun—several zombies were approaching, and her eyes widened as they came as close as one hundred metres.

"I will protect you—just focus and choose your target," Seth whispered calmly, but Elena's mouth dried up as she looked at the zombies approaching—one was a young woman, barely older than her, who was missing half her cheek and eye while stumbling with a strange gurgling noise.

100 metres.

Bang!

She fired, and the recoil pushed her back slightly, but Seth supported her body as the bullet ripped through the female zombie's forehead, exploding brain matter across the grass—however, Elena felt terrified as another zombie approached behind it and wondered if she missed.

90 metres.

"Good job, Elena—aim for the second target." Seth gently encouraged her while resting his hands on her hips and gripping her body, allowing her to feel safe—with a deep breath. She steadied her aim and focused on the second zombie's head.

80 metres.

Bang!

The bullet ripped through the zombie's eye socket, causing it to stumble backwards.

Elena sighed in relief but noticed several others were approaching—however, Seth stroked her hips, and his hot breath blew against her ears, causing her concentration to waver as his voice became seductive.

70 metres.

"Don't worry, Elena—you are beautiful and talented, my fiancée... my perfect bodyguard."

Thump!

"I will always support you—if you fail, I will cover you, and if you fall, I will catch you."

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Seth's gun howled with three rapid shots, killing three zombies as Elena felt his words sink in deeply—she was his fiancée, so Seth wouldn't abandon her or cast her aside, no matter how weak or useless she was.

"Now... finish them." His voice trailed off, causing Elena to gasp as she looked at the last two approaching—they were young boys, perhaps younger than thirteen, but she knew they were zombies and nothing more.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Elena's gun howled with three shots as she missed once, but the next two bullets ripped through their skulls, killing the boys instantly—there was silence as Seth patted her waist and gently massaged her lower back while speaking with a proud tone.

"Excellent work, Elena—I am proud of you."

Thump! Thump!

Her heart raced as Seth praised her, causing Elena to feel happy inside—for years, she wanted someone to acknowledge and praise her, but her parents and aunt ignored her—allowing Seth's warm touch and gentle words to bring a smile to her face.

In reality, she never expected him to accept their marriage; for years, he would avoid her and obsess over another woman... but now... her heart felt so at ease as he began stomping each of the zombie's heads to confirm they were all dead...

"So, my little student wife, are you ready to enter for a nice spiced latte?" Seth smiled as he watched her reload with such a sexy and well-practised motion. His magazine still had ten shots, but he needed to take care of his ammo.
