The Goblin Den Raid Concludes, The Treasure Chest Unveiled

"Were you not curious about my potion? Now, let's give you a firsthand experience."

John said as he poured the potion over the head of the Voodoo Goblin Shaman, effectively giving it a thorough drenching.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman writhed in agony on the ground, not fully understanding why the elite goblin had reacted so violently. The intense pain, indescribable by words, swept through its body relentlessly.

If John wasn't pressed for time, he wouldn't mind watching its performance a bit longer. He poured another bottle of the remaining snake venom mixture over it.

The Voodoo Goblin Shaman's green skin quickly turned dark purple, and within just two seconds, it succumbed to the poison.

It would never have guessed that it would meet its end by a healing potion.

John bent down to pick up the staff of the Voodoo Goblin Shaman, and the item information appeared before his eyes.

[Item Name: Voodoo Staff]

[Quality: Common]

[Restriction: Only equipable by Mage class, no effect for others]

[Attributes: Spirit +10, Spell Power +20]

[Special Effects: None]

[Introduction: A staff made by goblins. It may be a bit short for the average human's height, but it serves its purpose.]

"A mage-only equipment, looks like I can't use it for now."

John, as a Potioneer, still had the skills of an Apothecary. After the second job change, Apothecaries have two paths: [Potion Mage] and [Potion Master], two completely different paths. Becoming a Potion Mage allows one to equip items that increase spell power.

Potion Mages can learn healing magic that works in tandem with potions, but it consumes mana, making it more convenient in combat.

Potion Masters, on the other hand, only have cooldowns for making potions without consuming mana, and the potions have a longer shelf life. They can even safely produce healing potions without entering the otherworldly gates.

In his previous life, John chose to be a Potion Mage, as it leaned more towards combat, and its potential was somewhat higher than that of a Potion Master. In reality, both paths have their advantages and disadvantages; there's no best choice, only the most suitable one.

After storing the Voodoo Staff in his system backpack, John put on his clothes and readjusted his baseball cap.

He headed to the back of the high platform, where he found the treasure chest of this otherworldly gate.

The moment he opened the chest, a purple glow flickered, revealing an item inside.

[Item Name: Poisoned Dagger]

[Quality: Fine]

[Restriction: No class restriction]

[Attributes: Agility +10, Strength +5]

[Special Effect: Can inflict a bleeding status on monsters for 60 seconds]

[Introduction: A pair of sharp daggers with tiny holes in the blade for releasing poison. Be careful not to cut yourself, and definitely don't use it to peel apples.]

"WOW! This piece of equipment couldn't have come at a better time!" John's eyes lit up immediately, this gear was indeed impressive, especially since it wasn't restricted by class!

It's known that only a few pieces of equipment come without class restrictions.

John faintly remembered that, back in the guild's auction house, there was a set of warrior defense equipment that was marked as not class-restricted. This allowed some of the less defensive classes like archers, mages, and potioners to use it. He was tempted back then, but the equipment was snapped up for a sky-high price by a wealthy Awakener!

Moreover, his katana was damaged, and it was difficult to find a replacement for the time being. This piece of equipment could perfectly fill that gap, and its special effect was quite in line with his needs.

Although the attributes it provided were not insignificant, before undergoing a job change, it was impossible to break through the 10-point limit. Only after completing the first job change could the attribute points from the equipment be added.

John picked up the two daggers. They were not large, quite compact, measuring about 20cm in length.

The blade had rows of neat little holes connected to a small glass bottle in the middle of the handle, a craftsmanship that didn't seem like it belonged to a Fine quality equipment.

After storing the Poisoned Dagger in his system backpack, John was about to leave when he noticed the elite goblin still lying there.

It was now a bloody mess, barely alive, seemingly tormented severely by the potion mixed with Giant Jaw Spider venom.

As a half "Potioner," John had a kind heart.

Seeing the elite goblin in such pain, he couldn't bear it, so he took out the broken sword from his system backpack and decapitated it.

John closed the panel first. He had been inside for nearly 20 minutes, and it would be troublesome if it was indeed sealed off outside. He quickly made his way towards the cave entrance and returned to the previous chamber. The woman had already recovered, and she had opened the cell imprisoning the other people. There were now six human females gathered together, too afraid to leave, as the otherworldly gate seemed rather intimidating.

"Thank you for saving us, I thought I was going to die."

"Those hateful monsters are finally dead."

"Is this all just a nightmare? I still feel dazed..."

Seeing John return, they saw him as a beacon of light in the darkness, expressing their gratitude through tears and hugs.

John sighed softly, knowing that the experiences of these past two days might be an indelible shadow over their lives.

As an Awakener, John had seen too many such scenes. The deep-seated hatred between humans and monsters, the atrocities committed by monsters, he would personally seek retribution for each and every one.

"Go ahead and leave this place, just go through that door. No need to thank me, and if anyone asks about you, try not to mention me," John said, doing his best to cover his face to ensure they didn't get a clear look at him.

The group agreed wholeheartedly and then helped each other towards the exit of the otherworldly gate.

John noticed a young girl among them, not very old, wearing a red hair clip, with what appeared to be a chop wound on her ankle, exposing the bone, making it extremely difficult for her to walk. "Wait. Take this," John called out to her, then walked over and took out a bottle of healing potion, a very common potion that could quickly heal wounds.

"What is this, big brother?" the girl asked, seemingly stable in her emotions, in a soft voice.

"Healing potion," John said, opening the bottle and pouring the life-affirming green liquid over her wound.

The girl with the red hair clip was a bit surprised. She could clearly feel a cool sensation on the painfully throbbing wound, followed by a tingling sensation as her flesh began to heal rapidly.

"Sir, are you a magician?" asked the girl in a soft voice.

"No, I'm an alchemist," John replied, handing her the remaining half-bottle of the potion. "Your injury has reached the bone, so it might heal a bit slower. If it hurts when you get home, use the rest of this potion."

The girl with the red hair clip clutched the potion tightly, nodding vigorously with tears in her eyes, before turning to catch up with the others.

John watched as they left the otherworldly gate one by one, with the girl being the last to leave. She even turned back to wave goodbye to him.

John paused for a moment, then waved back, murmuring to himself with a wry smile, "Looks like I'll need to buy a mask when I get back, but hopefully they didn't get a clear look at my face..."

After the group had left, even if there were armed officers surrounding the place, they would surely prioritize rescuing them first.

John quickened his pace, pulling his hat down lower, deciding to take this chance to escape amidst the chaos.

With agility reaching the human limit of 9 points, he could easily flee from this place amidst the turmoil caused by the closing of the otherworldly gate... It's just too bad he didn't have time to pick up the [Awakening Crystal] generated by the gate's closing.

But on second thought, John considered this might not be a bad thing.

Letting the armed officers get their hands on the [Awakening Crystal] could potentially speed up the integration of awakened individuals into public view, hasten the establishment of the guild, and avoid some detours.
