Supreme Ruler: Control Is Greater Than Power!

My life? Many people see me as the most fortunate person existing. Maybe it was due to the power I wield, or what I had in my possession. But I found it hilarious; how I, myself, find my life worthless, every and anything I cared about getting burned in the flames of my ever-flowing energy. I don't mean it literally, more like… a metaphor, I guess. The world always opposed every and anything I stood for. I'm sure if you stood against me you would end up victorious. Anyway, off with my sorrows. To make everything interesting, I'll have to show you a clearer view of the world I live in.  Here it is; the story I so much wanted to share with you… all of you… *** In Archon, the union of a demon and angel was considered sacrilege to all its inhabitants—Apart from this glaring hatred for the union, any offspring from the union would die a miserable death. Stiles, a Nephalem, birthed from the union of a demon and angel had no choice but to face this challenge head-on, his parent's life becoming the payment for his survival. Stiles, filled with anger, tried to end his life but failed with every attempt.  Embarking on a journey to end his miserable life, he came in contact with a fortress that will change his life, turning him from a depressed boy into a Ruler—one that will reign over the land of Archon. ______________ Good day, ladies/gentlemen.  I've not done much writing, but I hope you would check my work out and give feedback. A/N: 100 power stones= 1 chapter. 10 Golden Tickets= 1 chapter. Thanks~ ----------- The cover photo is not mine, so if you are the artist or you know the artist, kindly communicate. Thanks~

Profession choice.

"Physicist."

I felt assured that this was the best path as of now. After all, I feel more inclined to work as a physicist.

"Are you sure?" Miss Renita questioned.

Though she tried to act indifferent, the look in her eyes betrayed the play. I could tell she was worried about my choice. After all, I'm just a child—maybe she felt I was not sure or I might regret my choice in the future.

"Miss Renita, I'm confident about my choice," I replied frankly. Playing the humble kid, I decided to add a line. "I appreciate your concern."

"Hmph, not like I cared. I just felt I should warn you as an Examiner." She stated. "Anyway, you still have to pass some tests to get recorded as a physicist."

To be honest, I only planned on checking my race. But it seems I can't perform that task without going through the Profession test… I thought, preparing myself for whatever test was to come.

"Individuals are mainly taught all the basics and importance of Professions in school." Miss Renita added, picking up a note from the round table. "So I'm sure you know the consequences of whatever choice you make now.

Did you study basic physics?" Miss Renita questioned in a carefree tone.

"Yes."

I never failed to explore the books in my library, so I had general knowledge in both historical, mythical, and scientific genres. Though other genres exist, I'll like to emphasize on these three, which I enjoyed exploring.

"Alright. Your stronghold in physics?"

"Mechanics," I uttered without wasting a second.

I enjoyed the concept it presented—even biological sciences had attractive content. Heh heh… I'll just do whatever I want.

Since Professions were created to attain order in the world, it should not be impossible to master more than one Profession. For instance, a biologist can still perform the duty of a healer—though law enforcement would not let that happen, that is why picking a Profession is hard; you will have to go through a lot to get a legal change of Profession.

"You'll start with the theoretical aspect, so prepare to answer some questions on mechanics." Miss Renita revealed a subtle smile.

"Yes, Miss Renita!"

"I'll have to adjust the difficulty level and change some settings, please wait over there." Miss Renita gestured to a bench by the left corner of the huge room.

"Thanks."

Alexia, who had been silent all the while, thanked Miss Renita as she held my arm, dragging me along.

As we grew distant from Miss Renita's desk, I decided to ask a question. "How much influence does the law enforcement have in Kynburgh?"

The subtle change in her posture told me that she was surprised by my sudden inquiries.

Taking in deep breaths of air, she said. "They don't really bother with a place like this, only using their scanners to check for lawbreakers."

Oi, so they don't see this place as a threat to the law, also known as peace and order. Is it that they could not see the wall?... I could not help but ponder over this matter. From the moment I sighted the wall, I knew it was made of an extremely rare and powerful element… Then why would they look down on this place? Even this dimension is unique in a sense. I must be missing an important piece.

"I hope you are not having any strange thoughts?" Alexia commented, her grip tightening.

"Are you scared?"

Heh heh, it would be weird if she was not worried. After all, she saw what I could do—how bloodthirsty I am, and I'm sure she already has an overview of my desires.

"As I said, I'll always stand by you—that's my job."

She had already resolved her will to defend me, or maybe she was blinded by the Profession's logic. No wonder the record claims it was created to maintain order; in a sense, Professions restrict people's desires.

A Doctor would always do his best to save lives because that is what his Profession orders, a Musician would always do his best to release good music because that is what his Profession orders, and so would a Prophet always do his best to draw people to their beliefs because that is what his Profession orders… How pathetic.

They are all blind people, chained to a concept that is lesser than them. What stops a Transporter from being an Informant, what stops a Chemist from being a Doctor… law.

It would be better if I don't dive deep into these matters, I still have a lot of research to perform so as to gain a concrete standing.

"Tch. I don't wish to argue with you anymore, just leave me be. I have to prepare for the test."

"I thought you were a genius, no?" Alexia commented with a sign of mockery in her tone.

I felt like slamming my head on the wall, but held back the urge, gritting my teeth in frustration… can't you tell, all I want is for you to leave me alone!

I would have loved to escape this fortress, but that thought came too late. I don't think I can escape these feelings; it's just like I found a family…

***

Unknown location in kynburgh palace.

The room was decorated with well-placed flowers, the chandeliers giving an alluring feeling to anyone that looked up.

Approximately five sofas were placed at different corners of the well-decorated room.

"So someone already made a move."

The voice sounded alluring yet cold. It was clear it belonged to a female.

"Yes, my lady." A female clad in servant clothing responded, placing a cup of tea before her mistress.

"Heh heh, Leopold is likely the conspirator." The lady commented, covering her succulent lips as she chuckled. "He had always been so rash, not caring of the setback."

The maid did not dare reply to her mistress's comment. After all, she had nothing to say about such matters.

"What of this so-called 'true ruler'?" The lady questioned, picking up the small-sized cup.

"Hall Of Testing, My Lady. I heard he went over there." The maid replied in a respectful tone.

"Females have not really had any right on the throne, so this matter does not affect me much. But, what do you think will happen if a complete stranger should be crowned king."

The lady's voice had a tinge of disgust, her face forming an irritated look.

"Hypothetically, he would not care about the current Royal bloodline, possibly reducing their status in the fortress." The maid stated her mind, not beating around the bush.

"It seems I'll have to come up with a plan. Though it all depends on the kid's attitude; if he meets my standard, then we join hands.

If he doesn't meet my standard, then I end him. How does that sound?"

"Brilliant, my lady."

"Let the game begin."
