A Gentle solution

Classical music was playing as people in formal clothes were talking and drinking wine. This was a charity event held by the city of Austin every year to raise funds for the firefighters. Darnell Potter was walking around trying to find someone to talk to. He did not really have many friends, so he was bored. Darnell only landed the Inspector job because his Father-in-Law helped him get it. Since he married his wife, his father in law used his connections to get Darnell a cushy job at the city.

The Building inspector did not have to do much work. He just looked at the reports from the Civil engineer and followed their recommendation. Darnell tried to build up connections but most people ignored him because he used a golden ticket to get the job. His Father in Law used to be the mayor and still had many connections so nobody complained. However, he could see the disapproval in their eyes.

Darnell noticed a gorgeous woman standing alone by the bar. She glanced at him and smiled. He slowly walked towards her and approached her. He tried to start a conversation and surprisingly she did not push him away. Maybe he was finally getting a lucky break.

After talking for a few moments he realized people were starting to look at them. After all, he was a married man; he could not be seen with another woman for too long. So he walked away; however, before he turned around, the girl slipped something in his pocket. Darnell walked to the bathroom and checked what was in his pocket.

It was a note with the room number of a nearby hotel. Darnell could barely hold his excitement in as he realized that he was going to score tonight. To make things easier, His wife was out of town so he would not have to make excuses for staying out late.

Darnell went back to the party, the girl had already left. He wanted to stay longer to avoid any suspicion. He stayed till the end and even donated an extra hundred dollars to the fundraiser because he was in such a good mood. He drove to the hotel and walked to room 69. He knocked on the door and heard someone walking toward the door.

The door opened and Darnell was greeted by the woman from the fundraiser. The blonde beauty was wearing a provocative red dress that made Darnell speechless.

" I was waiting for you." She replied. She took his hands and dragged him into the room after closing the door.

Darnell was euphoric as he shared the night with the beauty; however, he did not see the clandestine cameras that were placed throughout the room. After a while, Darnell was lying exhausted in bed and did not notice the woman pulling out some powder from her purse.

" Want to try some?" She asked him.

Darnell was cautious but did not want to disappoint the angel, so he snorted a couple lines. He would not remember what happened afterward. The night flew by and Darnell woke up in the morning only to realize he was alone. He showered and headed to work in good mood.

In the afternoon, Jennifer came to visit him again. He was tired of dealing with this woman. He had already hinted to her that she needed to resolve the issue with the corporation she angered first. Darnell had accepted a hefty sum from ER games to make trouble for Eminence gaming. He figured it was just a corporate rivalry and pitied the local company for angering a Behemoth monster.

" Did you take down all the modifications?' He asked.

" No, The modifications are still up." she replied.

" Well then, I will not help you." Darnell adamantly replied.

" Oh, I have another reason why you might help me." She replied while smiling. She reached into her purse and pulled out an Ipad. She played a video on the Ipad.

As he watched the Video, Darnell's face contorted. The video showed him with the woman from last night. "It was a trap." He realized, a little too late.

" What do you want?" Darnell turned to the woman with rage. If this video was released, then he was finished. If his Father-in-Law saw the video he would probably make Darnell's life hell; after all, he treasured his daughter very much.

" Nothing much, I just want you to clear our building with a note saying that you personally investigated our office and that it meets all the requirements." She demanded while smiling.

Darnell felt like the smile resembled the smile of the devil when he asked for your souls. He knew that she would continuously try to use him in the future but still agreed because he was afraid of the reaction to the video.

Jennifer left the City hall for the first time with a smile of her face. She called and personally thanked Martha. Martha was one of her friends from her days working as a CEO. Jennifer had ordered models for several of her male enemies and used that to blackmail them. She knew that this was the perfect way to fight back against the inspector and make sure that ER games could not create problems through the city again.

Jennifer had initially joined Michael for the freedom of working for a single owner company. She was tired of dealing with shareholders and board of directors. She knew that as long as she kept Michael happy, she would be left alone. However, she was truly astonished by how much they achieved with their first product. All CEO's dreamed of being able to lead a company that was going to change the world; however, that opportunity rarely presented itself.

Jennifer was sure that Empyreal Holdings will change the world one day because she understood that Michael was capable of doing something like that. That's why she wanted to stay and help build such a revolutionary company. She was determined to protect her dream from Mega-corporations.

She texted Michael letting him know that the issue had been taken care of and that there will be no more problems from the city.

Michael received Jennifer's text and smiled. He was glad that Jennifer was capable of solving company problems on her own. He did not want to always solve problems with violence. So he was happy to have Jennifer solve the problems in a gentle and professional manner. Michael told Jennifer that he will be busy for the next two weeks. He specifically instructed her to only call him if there was a catastrophic issue at the company.

His training was progressing smoothly, In less than two weeks Michael would meet the Stat requirements and attempt to breakthrough into Supreme tier.
