Chapter. 2. Into the forest .

After sitting for who knows how long , faint morning light started to come through the open window ,indicating that from here on out , my life only matters to me.

With that thought I sighed and stood up from my sit and started to go for the door .As I was just passing the door I felt someone's presence by the door . Instinctively , I got my guard up thinking it might be a soldier. Then I saw someone I was not expecting to see . she was the lady that took care of me when I was younger . She was queitly waiting outside the door with some thing in her hand casting her eyes down .

When did she get here . And how long was she waiting ? These thoughts came to my mind . But I can't ask her that . It will make me feel very akward if she was actually waiting for a lonv time .

When I got out side the house she looked up at me . I can see her sorrowful her eyes, filled with sympathy looking at me . Was there some worry and sadness too? She never showed any of her emotion to me.

. But I guess she did care about me a bit. After seeing me getting out of my house she quitley come closure to me and gave me a tight hug. I got flashbaggerd. But I got emotional from her embrace and softly hugged her back . After all it's been a long time someone hugged me . And It might be last time I am seeing her.

After holding me in her embrace for some time she said softly

" I have nothing else to give you . I wish I would have taken good care of you. I am sorry. You are such a pitiful child .

Take care of your self . will you?! "

And then she handed me a little bag kind of forcefully and left with out saying another word.

I stood there dazed.

"sigh! there must be money in it . "

I tried to weigh it a bit. And its a bit on the heavy side .

"She does not have a good income herself". I might not be able to forget this kindness.. I think she might even be crying .

After murmuring those thing to myself I started to walk towards the village exit accepting what she gave me . After all she did not give me any time for protest.

But her embrace was quite warm . Is this how a mother's embrace feels?

"Well .How would I know?"

Still Thinking about that warm embrace I made my way towards the village exit . I looked back at the village for the last time . It was bathing in the morning sunlight. I felt a kind of wave in heart that I don't understand. May be it's sadness . Or may be it's anger towards the noble who destroyed my already non existence childhood. Or resolve to take revenge for my dead father . Or a frustration of having nothing of my own .

" fuu... ! "

"I should leave first before the villagers started wake up."

With that wave in heart I walked towards the narrow path that was leading to the forest . Right now I should focus on survival .

If go to any nearby village I might be able start off something with the money I recieved and what my father had left . But I might not be able to survive . The noble will never let go off the doubt that I know something or my dad might have left something to me that could work against him as a prove .

So right now I am going to the nearby forest that surround one side of the village. I don't know what is on the other side of the forest neither do I know how safe it is . But I can only assume the noble would not send soldiers to the forest. The forest has those rumored creatures called monsters . The monsters generally does not come out of the forest. I never seen any monsters my self . But I have heard about them . They could destroy villages , they eat humans to. The villagers said there was time when some green coloured monsters came out of the forest and killed many villagers . Within villagers there were some who could use magic a bit . But they were just able to kill some of them and the village was about to collapse. But some heroes from the kindom came and kill them all easily. Apparently they were called adventurers .

"I hope I don't come across any monsters" .

But going to the forest is still better than obvious death. And it is day time so I can familiarize my self with the outer forest and train some magic that I learned from my father.That way I can try escaping encountrs. But I don't know if my magic will be of any help if I do encounter monsters . I am really scared. But there is obvious death behind , I have to get myself together.

When I entered the forest it was morning and now it might be past noon. I kept going deep until I got hungry . I ate some food I took with me and drank some water from a pond and started to move again .

But what strange is I have not encountered a single monster inside the forest till now. I have been going straight inside the forest in a fixed direction so I don't lose direction but I have probably lost it already . So without caring about going back I kept going deep inside.

Now I have came very deep inside the forest. It feels very eerily silent and peaceful. It fells like I am inside a peaceful garden rather than a forest infamous for being filled with monsters. The more deep I go in the more strange the feeling become . Because it's a beautiful forest . Even though it's pretty deep inside the forest there is still abundant sunlight .There is some nice looking fruits on the trees. Occasionally I see some small animals running around . I even came across a nice lake before but I hurriedly get away from there thinking some large monsters might come there to drink water. I could literally live here peacefully.

' Why is it that villagers never came to this forest ? '

If I go and show them what this forest has to offer and actually there is no monsters inside then it will be rewarding too see how there poor lives be changed. There might be rare herbs here too.

No thats not my village anymore. And I can't go back anyway. Forget about the village , I can live here freely and try to become strong . But what will I do after becoming strong? Take revenge ? And how would I became strong anyways? I should just live here and make friends with the cute animals here. I should live my life peacefully here. And now that I think about It There is no one other me here . Does not that means I am the king here?

"But I do want to take revenge and get strong " . Whether it's for father or just for my satisfaction I want crush those ignorant and self important people . I still remember how the noble never take a look at me .

' I can erase this brat from the face of the world by just moving my finger ' , this thought must have crossed his mind . I want to rub that feeling of power onto their own faces .

I can't forget the wave of emotion I felt when I left the village. I can't forget my father's smiling face. But how ?

" ah! " . Forget it . I should become a king for now. The king of this forest .

"ha! ha! ha! behold !"

" for I am the king the forest of .....". "um.....should I get a name for my forest . what should I call it? "

" This forest does have a name "

"huh?" .

Did my ears budge or I heard someone else's noise in my forest.? I looked around and I didn't see anyone.

"khs.....khs...khs...." there is a slight noise coming from the hedge from the side. It's moving too. 'oye! Is that a monster ? '

I instinctively took a step back. Thinking that it might be a monster I prepared runway with life.

" Didn't you say it's your forest ? Then why are you trying to run away from your own forest . You have a sword with you but you want to run way instead . You don't want to become a king anymore ? "

It's not my imagination . There really is someone. But who could it be . It's very deep inside the forest too.

I abandoned my escaping strategy and looked towards the bush from where the sound came from.

Following the sound of the bush moving abd leaves moving a thin looking old man came out from behind the bush and looked at me with funny expression and taunting gaze .
