16 Chapter 16: 2 long weeks and travelling sooner than expected

Coming back to the Maldives I never thought I would feel the time going this slowly if it wasn't for all the preparation I needed to do and my car that I finally finished 2 days ago I would have gone crazy my Uncle wasn't very fond of me going in New York almost 2 months before the start of the school year, of course, Mammy and Lena helped me smooth things up with him Lena really knows how to manage him also he so busy with wedding preparation even if they decided to only mary summer next year knowing that my Uncle can be a little extreme sometimes I'm pretty sure we will be in for a huge surprise next summer (giggles)

Martha was really happy with all this happening she even forced my Uncle and Lena to live in the same room saying that a couple who is sleeping separately was not healthy in a relationship this made me move out of the mansion even if the mansion was big enough I thought that they needed their space so I move to the guest house I liked how it also serves as training since I will live alone in New York my Uncle wanted to hire maids, chefs, and a private driver I looked at him like he was an alien and asked him if he saw me restoring my car for the past 6 or 7 years and if he listened when I sent her in New York ahead of me 3 days ago, of course, I would drive on my own he also know I can cook better than most, of course, I relented for the maid but I said I want her to live in her own apartment and only come to do household chores once a week that seems to calm him a bit I'm sure he is happy to at least have 1 spy to keep an eye on me even if it is just once a week

Right now I was in my room in the mansion packing my bags I told my Uncle that I was leaving next week but in truth, I would leave tonight I didn't want him to make a big farewell party and be emotional all over me the only people aware of my plan were Lena, Martha and Nigel. Lena because someone had to send my things over for me Mammy because I don't hide anything from her either I wasn't sure about telling Nigel about it but with Mammy and Lena in the knows I trusted Mammy on this, not to mention I needed a ride to the private airport I feel a little guilty doing this in the back of Uncle but it also filled me with adrenaline doing something I knew would piss-off my Uncle was kind of thrilling for me 

I was so excited that the bag in front of me must have been filled and then emptied out at least 5 times already the fact that I would soon be in my villa in Manhattan and that I would see my friend Derrick had nothing to do with all this excitement I was feeling right now I was not at all excited to see Alicia again we keep in touch every day with our texts I don't see why I would be excited over this (ok I'm lying to myself) but its easier to do so, for now, ill think more about it when the times come. Finally, after going back and forth for more than half an hour, I was done packing it was already dark outside I looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table '9h35' I should get going Nigel sure is already waiting for me in the garage I can trust Lena to keep my Uncle in his room for the night 'Lucky him' I thought while giggling to myself 

I took the back door toward the garage and as I had guessed Nigel was already waiting for me he looked at me and then said

-I didn't think you would really do it little Ace are you missing Alicia that much?

-I missed my friends Nigel not just Alicia I said trying to convince myself more than convincing Nigel

His gaze was saying everything so he didn't continue but I could see he was reigning his laughter in this would follow me until my death it seemed, even Mammy was teasing me all the time since Nigel snitched on me well I'm or Lena I'm still not sure about the leak provenance not that it matters that much I took my belongings and hope in the back. During the ride, I talked to Nigel about the arrangement for my stay in New York

-So Nigel is my car already at the villa? also, did you warn the maid that she will start working sooner than planned?

-Yes your car is already there I also warned the maid her name is Veronica for your information I also asked her to do the groceries knowing your taste I even talked to Doug and he will send you meat every week for your consumption so you do not have to worry about this if you want something just ask Veronica or find it yourself I'm sure you will be alright either way you can also ask Alicia for help he said with a wide grin 

-Sigh alright enough yes she caught my eyes but I don't know how it will turn out you know I always said I wanted a big family right? I don't know what she will think about this also must I say it now or wait before talking about things like this i really am lost about this, happy now you have another crispy news for Mammy and Lena humph

-I'm happy to see you're finally honest with yourself and I don't know when you should talk about things like this but I'm sure you have to before anything serious happens between the two of you and yes I'm talking about sex young men, also thanks for the crispy news because of you my wife will surely give me a good time when I come back hehe

-Aaaaaahhhh Nigel please I didn't want to know this!

The rest of the ride was done in an awkward silence for my part while Nigel was still laughing from time to time after looking at my face through the rear mirror 20 minutes later I could see the jet my excitement went through the roof just thinking that in 18 hours and 30 minutes I would be starting a new chapter in life 

I took place in the jet and put my suitcase in the room where the crew was still doing last-minute check-ups the maintenance was done daily so they were no problem on this side since it was a secret that I was leaving and only made preparations 3 days before departing only the main pilot was available I was a pilot myself I took my student pilot permit when I was 14 I would need to wait until 17 to take private pilot license - Helicopter and Aeroplane that's the reason why the captain was not worried since in the likelihood of something bad happening I would be there 25 minutes later I waved to Nigel who was till standing beside the car while the jet was moving in position to take-off

I couldn't sleep until 7 hours later Lucky for me there was no problem during the flight I woke up at 6h30 am New York time we should have landed in about 50-60 minutes or so when I realized this, I couldn't sleep anymore I took out my phone look through my small contact list searching for Alicia numbers

Ace: Are you sleeping?

Alicia: No I just woke up I was thinking of going back to sleep! What's up?

Ace: What if I told you I'm 50 minutes away from New York? still want to go back to sleep?

Alicia: you are joking with me right? didn't you tell me that you were coming just for the start of the school year?

Ace: No I'm not joking! I might have wanted to surprise you ;) did it work?

Alicia: Yes so when are we meeting up?

Ace: Well I was also texting you about this do you want to come pick me up?

Alicia: omg I just woke up I'm not ready!!! :O

Ace: OK I will just take a taxi then

Alicia: I never said I wouldn't come pick you up humph where are you landing?

Ace: hehe I knew it you missed me! Teterboro airport you just have to wait in the parking lot when I land I will text you!

Alicia: Shut up! I need to go prepare myself now Don't text me! See you later!

Alicia P.O.V

I woke up feeling groggy like every morning since the start of my vacation I took a glass of water in the kitchen and was going back to sleep when the special ringtone I put for a certain someone made itself heard I almost ran back to the bedside table of my room hearing it, lucky for me everyone was sleeping my mother sure would have guessed what was happening she caught me smiling while looking at my phone more than once since Ace left she doesn't know what is happening but I'm sure she got an inkling of what's going on she got a nose for that I never was able to hide something from her this long well the fact that my brother was talking about Ace non-stop probably helped my cause

Chatting with Ace always uplifts my mood but, weirdly, he texted me this early in the morning reading his second text I was stunned 

Ace: What if I told you I'm 50 minutes away from New York? still want to go back to sleep?

What did he mean by this I thought he was not coming until 2 months later is he joking with me I thought but his next text dispelled the doubt I had he wouldn't joke twice about this kind of thing I couldn't be more awake now after hearing he would be here today and now even more so when he asked me to go get him 

oh no I need to wash up prepared myself chose my clothes arrrgghh 'couldn't he had told me earlier' I thought. I completely forgot that 10 minutes ago I was still sleeping but I was so frantic now that it completely slipped my mind in all my 18 years of life I had never taken a shower and prepared myself this fast

I took my bags and my keys and left a note on the kitchen countertop to my mother and brother then made my way downstairs toward my car an old baby blue colored Honda S2000 2008 I really hope he doesn't mind my car well he didn't mind where we lived the other time so it should be alright still it makes me conscious. Stop thinking about this Alicia you only have 40 minutes left 

I never really hated traffic jams I never liked them either but I was used to them since I had lived in New York all my life today this very morning I think I can say now that I hate them with all my being the road toward the airport was never this long I have never gone there but I passed by numerous time. I pulled into the parking lot found a spot turned off my car and waited 5 minutes, 10 minutes 'Why isn't he texting me' he should have arrived already I thought looking at my phone the clock showed 7h42 I was still looking at my phone when suddenly a shadow covered me and my phone i was about to turn around when i heard a voice

-Are you waiting for someone Miss?

-Aaaaaahhhhh I screamed while turning around and noticing who it was I directed a punch toward his chest while saying you scared me, you dummy!

-Hahahaha sorry sorry the temptation was too great when I noticed you were so lost in your thoughts you didn't even see me waving at you.

-And how did you get behind me the airport lobby is there I said pointing toward the front of the parking lot

-the private landing area is this way he said pointing toward where all the jets were parked

-Don't tell me you got a jet. I said with a questioning tone.

-Yes! Well, my family got one maybe I'll get one myself one day he said with a pensive look. Is this beauty your car? asked Ace

-Y..yes how is it?

-I like it and baby blue suits you is it a 2008 or 2009? you know with KW V3 Coilovers the handling would be 2 times more comfortable I can see she is in good shape for a 17-year-old car I would really like working on this car... cough cough sorry I got carried away said, Ace

-Haha no problem! you really do like cars, so take your luggage and hope in where are we going?

-if I know! everyone in New York knows it West Village luxury condos there's also a villa on top but it is off-limit even for residents from what I've heard you got a Condo there?

-Yes that one! you will see he said with a smirk
