46 Thea's questioning

After seeing the fate of the red python and its master, Arul, no one obstructed Kent from taking the golden flag. Instead of fighting for the golden flag, other fighters began carefully choosing their flag number to avoid the tough opponent in the first round.

Holding the golden flag, Kent slowly descended from the sky with a triumphant smile. Fatty Ben, who sat among the crowd, laughed joyfully while clapping for Kent.

But just as Kent landed on the ground, Arul, holding his long staff, came angrily towards Kent.

"Bastard, that gold flag belongs to me. How dare you obstruct the path of this young master?" Arul shouted fiercely as he pointed his staff at Kent and attacked with his powerful spell.

Instantly, a sharp magical spear formulated through Aura and came rushing towards Kent. Thea, who stood at the periphery of the arena, rushed towards Kent to block the spear. But she is far away.

Master Chen, who witnessed this scene in the first place, immediately pointed his wand at the magical spear and dissolved the attack in one instance.

Kent, who prepared to face the magical spear with his knuckles, took out his Victor bow in one instance and pulled the bow string, aiming at Arul. But before Kent released his arrow, Thea reached him and stood before Kent as a blockade.

"Stop…" Master Chen shouted angrily as he stood in the middle of Kent and Arul.

"Arul, what is the meaning of your actions? Didn't you feel shame to attack an unarmed Magus?" Master Chen questioned with an angry glare.

"Master Chen, you saw it all. Because of him, I fell to the ground and lost the race to capture the golden flag." Arul replied in a complaining tone.

Master Chen got more angry after hearing his complaint. "You are the one who failed to control your pet. If someone has a better weapon or pet than you, it's not their mistake.

I thought you would become proud of this school. But with this attitude, you are not going to achieve anything. Go and Kneel before the ancestral statue till evening." Master Chen declared before turning his gaze towards Kent.

But Thea covered Kent like a guardian, hiding his image from Master Chen's. With a grunt, Master Chen went back to the stage to address the disciples.

"What happened now is also a lesson to everyone. A real magus should never attack your enemy in five situations:

When your enemy is not ready,

When your enemy kneeled,

When your enemy accepted defeat,

When your enemy ran away from Arena,

When your enemy is way below you.

Anyone can become a great magus by cultivating diligently. But to become the greatest magus, one must follow the arena rules and war laws and defeat their opponent in a lawful way.

Victory doesn't mean killing your opponent. You just need to win over him."

Master Chen finished his long lecture as he turned his gaze towards Kent, who had already placed the bow in his bracelet.

"As the golden flag winner, you have the opportunity to choose your opponent. Say the name." Master Chen asked while observing Kent with a serious look.

All the eyes shifted to Kent, and the big Aurora glass of the Arena is displaying Kent's face from a close distance.

Thea, who stood before him, turned around and stared at Kent. Several thoughts were racing through her brain about Kent. She gazed into his eyes silently.

While enjoying the close moment with Thea, Kent thought about the opponents. The worst thing is he only remember the names of two fighters other than Mia. One is a fat king, and the other is Arul.

"I chose young master Arul as my opponent." Kent declared without thinking much.

"What??!!!" A loud clamor erupted in the crowd as no one expected Kent to choose title favorite Arul as his opponent.

Usually, the golden flag holders choose a weak opponent to warm up in the first round. So, everyone thought Kent would say the name of a weak magus.

Arul, who still stood on the ground with a dispirited look, dumbfounded after hearing his name from Kent. His fists clenched in anger as he felt humiliated.

"Did he think I'm a weak opponent? I must teach a lesson by breaking his legs on the day of combat." Arul muttered while staring at Kent with bloodshot eyes.

Even Thea stared at Kent's face in surprise. As a two-time champion of the secondary Magus competition, she knew how cruel the fights would be.

"Are you sure?" Master Chen asked again with a serious look.

"Yes master." Kent replied calmly while controlling his fire Kirin, who was licking his face.

"Elder Cha... note down his choice and prepare the fighting schedule based on the other disciple flags. Publish it on the school quest board by evening. Is that clear?" Master asked without moving his gaze from Kent, who was rubbing Fire Kirin's mane with a happy smile.

Elder Cha obeyed his command and soon began noting down the flag numbers of the other fighters.

Just as Master Chen left the arena, immediately loud music sounded around the arena, and the cheerleading gang began showing their moves. One by one, disciples left the arena as the combat mapping was over.

Arul, before leaving the arena, approached Kent. "Hire a healer before the match... I will definitely break your legs." Arul warned with a threatening gesture and left, walking. As Thea stood before him, Kent didn't utter a word in response to Arul's threat.

Just as the event ended, a ground-breaking post landed in the school forum.

"The number one old suitcase is the winner of the golden flag." Below the title, a fresh picture of Kent on a big Aurora glass is tagged.

"Kent, what's going on? Did you really become a secondary Magus? Where did you get this fire pet?" Thea, who is waiting for a private moment, immediately asked her questions while staring at Kent's face.

Instead of answering her questions, Kent smiled happily as he observed a change in Thea's tone when she addressed him.

"Speak… Where did you get the money to buy these clothes? What happened to your looks?" Thea asked again as she felt restless, staring at smiling Kent.

"Shhh…" Kent gestured for her to be silent by placing a finger on his lips.
