“Cease thy cries, my ears are near deafened!”
Zhang Nannan was forcibly awakened from her state of terror by this voice.
She dared not open her eyes, first assessing her physical condition.
Not sensing the eerie sensation of fur against her, she cautiously opened her eyes. Before her gaze was the enigmatic countenance of Xu Yi, seemingly smiling yet not.
She hesitated, parting her lips to speak, only to witness Xu Yi gripping the neck of a multicolored chicken.
“Take it away! Remove it swiftly!”
Zhang Nannan trembled in fear, closing her eyes once again.
Observing Zhang Nannan’s pale face, Xu Yi shook her head, releasing her firm grip on the multicolored chicken.
The freed chicken flapped its wings vigorously, vanishing from sight in the blink of an eye.
“Alright, it has been discarded,” Xu Yi sighed in resignation.
“To think you would attempt to frighten me with such a timid spirit.”
With these words, she couldn’t resist pinching Zhang Nannan’s cheek.
