5 Hunt(2)

A sneaky black shadow rushed past Leo and slashed his back ruthlessly.

"Argh!!! Vile beast!" roared Leo as his face twisted in pain. His back was totally bloody as the claw pierced through his back.

Ray and others swiftly took position around Leo to protect him and looked around to see the attacker. They finally saw a large cat sliding down the roof and licking its bloody claws. It looked similar to the mutated cat Ray killed before but it was far stronger than it.

Its facial feature was similar to a bloodthirsty cheetah and while its body was similar to a bear due to its robustness. It glared at them with a human-like smile as if mocking them for being so weak.

Then suddenly it moved so fast that it vanished from its spot and appeared in front of Ray and waved its sharp claws at his head. On an instinct, Ray bent over just to avoid the claw which was just some millimetres away from him. The beast seem to predict Ray's movements, so it kicked Ray with its hind limb just as he bent down to avoid its claws.

*Bam*

Ray crashed straight into the wall, cracking it apart. Spouting a mouthful of blood, he tried to support himself with his blade when the beast again arrived. The beast was on the verge of tearing Ray's throat apart when the others finally moved. Everything happened in some seconds that nobody had time to realize that Ray was attacked.

Kai rapid fired bullets along with Lucas. To their horror, the bullets couldn't pierce through the skin of the beast but only injured it on the surface leaving it slightly bleeding from its back. But that was enough to distract the beast and Nathan already moved and waved his blade fiercely towards the posterior of the beast.

Roarrrr...!!!

Its tail was cut off as a tail of blood flowed from the back of the beast. It roared madly and plunged towards Nathan, ignoring Ray. Lucas quickly came in support and both of them waved their sword and clashed with the claws of the beast.

They almost clashed with the beast for 2 minutes when Ray realized that the beast was getting fiercer and fiercer while Lucas and Nathan were getting slower and slower. Apparently, their body was taking a toll. Moreover, both of them was more or less injured in their hands, so the pain was causing them serious injury.

Ray, rubbed the blood at the corner of his mouth and dragged his injured body to join them. But the beast somewhat was spiritual and already noticed Ray's movements and swiftly kicked Lucas away.

The kick broke Lucas's left hand as he landed after rolling 10 metres.

The beast was flung away in the air when Ray somersaulted and mercilessly kicked the back of the beast, thrashing it on the ground with force.

*Thud*

The beast lay on the ground as blood flowed from its back due to broken bones. It was trying to get up when Nathan slashed his sword in its neck.

*Clang*

Its neck was clearly stronger than any part of the body so Nathan couldn't fully cut it. But it was gravely wounded! It roared savagely as it tried to wave its claw towards Nathan when Ray savagely punched it on its half-broken neck.

Punches after punches rained down on its head and neck after which the beast unwillingly left its last breath!!

Ray slumped on the ground as soon as he heard the notification. His ribs were broken badly, if not for the strong body he wouldn't have survived!!! He didn't have any energy to lift his fingers anymore!

Ray glanced at others to see them in the same condition. Only Kai was not injured as he was keeping Leo safe from a distance. Ray glanced at the dead beast...

"It was a level 3 mutated cat, the former one was a level 2 mutated dog. " said Ray after some moments of silence.

He felt like others should know this information too!! It was their right to know since they will face life and death together from now on!!

"I have some medicines. Kai distributes them, please." said Ray as he took out 3 bottles of low-level healing potions that the system rewarded.

Kai took the medicines and frowned. "How much is the dosage?"

Ray was taken aback and quickly asked the system.

"System, how much potion is needed to heal any wound?"

*Half a bottle each for grave injury and some drops for skin injury. It will heal in an hour.* replied the system coldly.

Ray replied Kai according to the system. Lucas and Ray shared a bottle while Leo shared another bottle with Nathan.

Ray felt warm as soon he gulped down the potion. He lay on his back on the floor and quietly waited for an hour to pass for the injury to heal. Kia remained vigil as the other rested.

To their surprise, they quickly found that their injuries were slowly healing. Ray's broken ribs, Lucas's broken arm, Nathan's fleshly wound and Leo's back wounds were healed after an hour. Only the bloodstains remained which spoke volumes of their injuries in the cruel battle.

Ray and others glanced at each other and laughed. The battles today was thrilling to these hot-blooded youths. Even if they were badly injured, but their blood boiled at the thought of fighting such demon beasts.

Ray patted his butt as he got up from the floor. He touched the demon corpse and it vanished soon after.
