Twenty seven.

Cole's POV.

I placed my lips on hers and she froze at first but then she responded kissing me back. I was so happy and so was my wolf. I let out a satisfied grunt and moved closer to her. I pulled away and looked into her eyes. She touched her lips in awe like she couldn't believe what just happened.

" Iris, I like you."I said breathlessly.

" I like you too Cole."

" No Iris, I mean I like you like you. You're the one I like."

" Cole I know what you meant. I like you too but we can't-"

" Why not?"

" Because you have a mate that's not me. You'll find her eventually and forget about me. I'm not ready for that kind of heartbreak."

" You're my mate." I stated and she looked at me incredulously.

" That's not possible. You told me you haven't met-"

" I lied. Iris you're my mate."

" Why didn't you tell me?"

" Because I was scared. When I first saw you in the hallway I knew you were my mate. But I didn't know you and I didn't want to scare you away. And when I got to know you, you were so focused on getting your powers I didn't want to distract you.

And when you finally got them, you disappeared! And then you came back months later and you had changed. You were different. And you had Seb."

" Seb. Oh my God!, Cole I'm so sorry. You had to see me with Seb several times."

" I won't lie, it hurt. A lot. There were times when I wanted to bash Seb's head on the ground severally. Claws was so mad at me for not doing so. It wasn't your fault. It was mine. I didn't tell you. You had no idea."

She sighed and looked at me through her long lashes.

" We still can't. I can't."

" Why not?"

" Cole I can't be the girl you want. I'm not perfect."

" I want you the way you are. I don't want a perfect girl. You're perfect just the way you are."

" Cole I'm not normal!"

" I'm not either, we're supernaturals."

" No!, I am a killer. I have killed so many people. I have so much blood on my hands."

" You did what you thought was right. And I don't care about that."

" Cole." She sighed.

" Iris."

" I am not a relationship person. I am terrible at it. Just look at Seb and I-"

" Iris I am not Seb. I'm different. We're different. I know for sure that it will work out between us."

" How?"

" Because we're mates." I said and she pursed her lips.

I could see the wheels in her head turning trying to decide what's best. She looked at me and I smiled.

" Fine. We'll-"

I didn't let her finish as I placed my lips on hers savouring the feel of her soft lips.

The old Iris was back.

She smiled not smirked, she was calmer, she joked around more and the best part(but also kind of the worst), she pranks more.

In the span of a week, she had dyed Chris's hair pink, turned Bryan into a smurf, made Savannah believe she had a talking mirror and made Rose's skin tone colour based on her emotions.

" Hey you." I greeted as I entered the spot She looked up from the book she was reading and smiled.

" Hey." She replied.

I sat next to her on the couch and slung my arm across her shoulders.

" I got you something." I said as I brought out a huge Froyo cup from inside my bag.

" Thanks. Blueberry, my favourite. You remembered."

" Of course I remembered. I remember everything about you." I said and she rested her head on my shoulder.

" Awwwn!"

We turned to see a blue Bryan and a pink haired Chris.

" Did you really have to ruin the moment?"

" Yes. Yes we did." Bryan replied and Iris stood up.

" I'm going to leave you two to continue your bromance."

" We're not here for Cole, we're here for you." Chris said.

" What's up?"

" Mr T wants to see you."

" Okay." Iris said as she got up and left.

I found myself smiling even after she had left the room.

" Dude you're whipped." Bryan said patting my shoulder."

" I know." I replied smiling.

We, the guardians (I know, it sounds weird) were gathered in the courtyard as Iris came out of the school alongside Mr T and the Elders. She scanned our faces and nodded slowly.

" Bryan, Tiara, Aoife and Russell. You're with me. The rest of you stay here and train."

" Why can't I go?, I'm your counsellor." Rose protested her skin turning red.

Iris raised her eyebrow and sighed.

" Can you fly?" She asked and Rose shook her head.

" Can you control air?" She asked and Rose shook her head again.

" Then you're going to be useless. We are attacking from above. There are probably no trees for you to climb there." Iris said and Rose's skin turned a sad shade of blue.

" What exactly is going on?" Logan asked.

" Magicians are attacking an elementist village. We are going to infiltrate their attack." Iris replied and we nodded.

" You are dismissed."

Bryan, Tiara, Aoife and Russell changed into their mission suits and moved towards Iris. Mr T and the Elders gave them directions to the village.

Once they were done, I moved towards her and she smiled at me.

" If I was a normal boyfriend, I'd tell you to be careful. But, we're not normal. And knowing you, I'll just tell you this: try as much as possible not to kill anybody."

She grinned and chuckled a bit.

" I make no promises."

I was leaning in for a kiss when I heard something that sounded like someone was gagging.

I looked over at Bryan and sighed.

" You kissed your girlfriend in front of me multiple times and I never interrupted!, But when I finally get a girlfriend and I want to kiss her you just have to ruin the moment!"

He blew me a kiss and I glared.

" Your bromance is on an entirely different level." Iris chuckled.

I ignored Bryan's gagging sounds and kissed her anyway.

" Bye!" She greeted as the teleported away.
