A lead?

After the first encounter at the door. Alexander had been invited in by the mother for a talk.

"I'm sorry you had to see me like that. And I ever stained your clothes."

"It's alright. If anything I glad I could be of service, Madame." Alex said.

"Oh please, call me Kate."

"It's a pleasure to meet you Kate, I am Willson." Said Alex.

He knew that when hunting, it is important to use your actual identity as little as possible, especially if the mission is incomplete.

He spoke to Kate and asked her about her child. What was she doing that day? Where was she going? How was she feeling or acting? And so on.

Kate described her daughter on the day before she disappeared as a girl in love and on her way to meet her love.

Alex then asked to see her daughter's room to check if there was a clue or such.

The room was what you would expect from your typical girl with a few odd bits. She had her posters of male idols, and musicians crumbled up and shoved in the bin. Multiple prebooked tickets to some club, a receipt at a burger joint, and a shopping bag filled with new and revealing outfits.

"Alright, Kate it's time I leave. I still have a few more houses to check."

"Oh okay, I understand." She said reluctantly.

Alexander noticing this gently touches her arm and looks her in the eyes.

"I will do my best to find your child. I will bring her back to you soon, so just wait for us."

Kate found herself moving closer to Alex or "Willson" as believed. For some reason couldn't control herself. Before she knew what was happening, she had given Alex a kiss on the lips.

Pulling back, Alex looked at her, stunned. There is an awkward tension filled moment. He again reiterated.

"I should be going."

He bids her goodbye promptly, making his exit leaving her stand in her living room, blushing about her forwardness or such a young man. Kate could help but stare at his strong and broad back.

As soon as he left the house and approached his car. His previously expressive and emotion filled face drop. He now had a neutral and relaxed expression. As though what had transpired had nothing to do with him.

As he drove to the next victims house, he thought about how luck and smart it was to study the phycology and action of the killers. Otherwise, that meeting could have easily gone a different way. In some ways, he had picked up the habits of the very monsters he had studied. To make such an impact on a grieving widow and yet care little of it.

The next few victims were much easier to deal with. They had the support of loved one and thus were less emotion and more than happy to help any way they could.

It was almost sun down, and Alexander was now back at the motel going over all the information he had gained to find any leads.

Again, most of the victims described their children as acting peculiar. They were full of energy, happy, frequently smiling, humming, and shopping for new clothes.

Symptoms that could be prescribed to a person in love. This discovery confirmed to Alex that this case was most definitely supernatural.

Aside from this, there were some other similarities in the victims. For starters, there have been 7 young adults, ages 19 to 21, who have disappeared so far. 4 of them were girls, including Kate's daughter, and the others were boys.

In each of the room of the 4 girls, receipts for the same burger could be found in pristine condition, and 1 even had a half-eaten burger by their bed.

However, all of them had prebooked tickets to the same club.

The police had already checked these places but found nothing. Camera's showed that the girls were the ones that ordered the burgers alone. And clubs aren't exactly known for their security measures.

Alexander went online and booked tickets for the same club. Daylight, it was called. I changed into a more causal fit and got in his car and drove to the burger joint parked in an spot inconspicuous spot, which had the burger joint in full view he could see everyone going in and out of the place.

It was now time for the phase that determined if you were going to be a successful serial killer or just some freak who got luck a few times.

Waiting.

This was not idealing on your phone while you wait. It was not playing games or listening to music while you wait. It was devoting your full attention to every single person that passed by.

It was boring. A slow and cruel and boring form of torture, but you could not let your mind wonder for even just a second or you might miss everything.

Alexander sat there watching and waiting. Observing the actions of every single person.

Time moved with the speed of a snail. Alex still sat in his car, waiting and watching.

Until he noticed something. Something small, some that was seemly insignificant.

He noticed a blush.

Yes, Alex was a beautiful 18 to 21 years old brunette coming out of the store. I had seen her going in and had taken notice of how happy she seemed. She had a little pep in her step, which he had attributed to her being excited to eat.

But when she came out with her takeaway, she looked at it with fondness and longing, then blushed. Which might not have been much she could just be a girl that really loves burger, but when paired with her possible age, the provocative clothing and her love struck symptoms. She was a match.

He observed her go into the parking lot and get in her car. Alex then turned on his engine and followed her.

She drove for miles until she pulled up in the middle of nowhere and turned off the road. Following her would get him caught. But if she wasn't involved in his case, what was a young kid doing in a place like that?

 It was almost nighttime.

Alex parked his car somewhere it wouldn't be noticed and following the tyre tracks the girl left behind.
