Faith

Sam and Sarah was standing at the desk with a receptionist and the receptionist says "Sir, I'm sorry to ask there doesn't seem to be life insurance on file." Sam said "Right, um ok." He removes a card from the wallet and gives it to the receptionist at the desk and the receptionist glances at the car and she says "Okay, Mr. Burkovitz."They see two cops waiting and they both walk over to them and the first cop said "Look, we can finish this up later." Sarah said "No, no, it's okay. We were just taking a shortcut through the neighborhood. And, um, the windows were rolled down, we heard some screaming when we drove past the house, and we stopped. Ran in." The cop says "And you found the kids in the basement?" Sam says "Yeah." The cop said "Well, thank God you did." Sam and Sarah see a doctor and Sam says to the cops "Excuse us." The cop says "Sure. Thanks for your help."

Sarah asks "Hey, doc is he...?"The Doctor says "He's resting." Sam then asked "And?" The Doctor said "The electrocution triggered a heart attack. Pretty massive, I'm afraid. His heart...it's damaged." Sam asks "How damaged?" The Doctor said "We've done all we can. We can try and keep him comfortable at this point. But, I'd give him a couple weeks, at most, maybe a month." Sarah said "No, no. There's, there's...gotta be something you can do, some kind of treatment." He looked at sarah and he said "We can't work miracles. I really am sorry." They both walk away sad and they go into the room that dean is staying in and Dean is laying in bed, watching Tv he is pale has a dark circles under his eyes both sam and sarah enter and dean keeps his eyes on the tv and he weakly says " Have you ever actually watched daytime TV? It's terrible." Sarah sits beside dean and held his hand and sam said "I talked to your doctor." Dean said "That fabric softener teddy bear. Oh, I'm gonna hunt that little bitch down." Sarah said "Dean." He looks up and he says "Hey, you better take care of that car. Or, I swear, I'll haunt your ass." Sam says "I don't think that's funny." Dean says "Oh, come on, it's a little funny." Sarah still holding dean's hand says "Be serious please dean." She tries her hardest not to cry and so does sam, dean looks at both of them and says "Look, Sammy and Sarah what can I say, , it's a dangerous gig. I drew the short straw. That's it, end of story."

Sarah said "Don't talk like that, alright? We've have options." Dean holds her hand and says to her "What options? Yeah, burial or cremation. And I know it's not easy. But I'm gonna die. And you can't stop it." Sam says "Watch us." At the hotel room sam and sarah are doing research about heart care, sam is on the phone it's for his dad but it goes straight to voicemail which says "This is John Winchester. I can't be reached. If this is an emergency, call my son, Dean. 866-907-3235. He can help." Sam tearfully says "Hey, Dad. It's Sam. Uh...you probably won't even get this, but, uh...it's Dean. He's sick, and uh...the doctors say there's nothing they can do. Um...but, uh, they don't know the things we know, right? So, don't worry, cause me and sarah uh...gonna do whatever it takes to get him better. Alright...just wanted you to know." Sam hangs up the phone and tosses it on the bed and sarah says to sam "We will find something to help save dean no doubt about that." Sam looks at Sarah smiles and says "Yeah I hope there's something out there."

There was a knock on the hotel room door, and they both looked up quickly tears in their eyes sarah goes and opens the door and to their surprise it was Dean he was leaning against the door frame, looking terrible and Sam says "What the hell are you doing here?" Dean said "I checked myself out." Sarah and Sam look at each other and then back at dean and sarah says "What, are you crazy dean you should be in the hospital." Dean enters the room, leaning on everything within reach and said "Well, I'm not gonna die in a hospital where the nurses aren't even hot." Sarah looks at him when he said that but she let him off due to him dying, Dean shrugs, Sam laughs and Sarah shuts the door. Sarah said "You know, this whole I-laugh-in-the-face-of-death thing? It's crap. I can see right through it." Dean looked at her and said "Yeah, whatever, have you two even slept you look worse than me." Sam and Sarah helped dean and Sam said "We've been scouring the Internet for the last three days. Calling every contact in Dad's journal." Dean was confused and said "For what?"

Dean looks at them confused and sam says "For what?" Sam says "For a way to help you. One of Dad's friends, Joshua, he called me back. Told me about a guy in Nebraska. A specialist." Dean looks at both of them and says "You two aren't gonna let me die in peace are you?" The both nodded their heads no.

The Impala bumps along a rutted gravel road towards a large white circus tent, set up in a field People make their way toward the tent across the very muddy ground, many on walking frames or helped by others. Sam gets out of one side of the car whilst Sarah and Dean get out the other side, dean looks around and sees a sign that reads "The Church of Roy LeGrange. Faith Healer. Witness The Miracle." Grimacing Dean starts to pull himself out of the car and sarah helps dean and so does sam Dean wasn't exactly impressed with the location looked over he said "Man, you are a lying bastard. Thought you said we were going to see a doctor." Sam says "I believe I said a specialist. Look, Dean, this guy's supposed to be the real deal."Dean looks over at them and he says "I can't believe you brought me here to see some guy who heals people out of a tent." An elderly woman with an umbrella and she says to Dean "Reverend LeGrange is a great man." Dean still wasn't impressed and he said to the woman "Yeah, that's nice." Then they walked passed an angry man remonstrating with a cop, and the guy says to the cop "I have a right to protest. This man is a fraud. And he's milking all these people out of their hard-earned money." The Sheriff says "Sir, this is a place of worship. Let's go. Move it." They move along and dean looks over at him and says "I take it he's not part of the flock."

Sarah said "But when People, see something they can't explain, there's controversy." Dean looked at her and said "I mean, come on, Sarah and Sam, a faith healer?" Sam looks over at Dean and says "Maybe it's time to have a little faith, Dean." Sarah looks at dean as well and says "He's right Dean, maybe you should." Dean looked at the both of them and said "You know what I've got faith in? Reality. Knowing what's really going on." Sam said "How can you be a skeptic? With the things we see everyday?" Dean says as their all walk "Exactly. We see them, we know there real." Sarah said "But if you know evil's out there, how can you not believe good's out there, too?" Dean says "Because I've seen what evil does to good people." A young woman walks in front of them and says "Maybe God works in mysterious ways." Dean being flirty in front of sarah wasn't the best thing to do and he says "Maybe he does. I think you just turned me around on the subject." The young woman said "Yeah, I'm sure."

Sarah said to the young woman "Hey i'm sarah, this is sam and my boyfriend Dean." She put out her hand and the young woman shook it and she said "Layla. So, if you're not a believer, then why are you here?" Dean says "Well apparently my brother and my girlfriend here believes enough for the three of us." The woman smiled at Sarah, Sam and Dean and then they headed inside of the tent, the tent is full of people finding seats, a small stage at the front has a lecturn with candles on it. Dean was looking around and he said " Yeah, peace, love, and trust all over." Sarah and Sam follows his gaze to a security camera dean starts to take a seat in the back but sarah and sam have other idea and lifts him up and says "Don't! What are you doing? Let's sit here." Sarah said "We're sitting up front." Dean looks at her and says "What? Why?"

When they finally sit down on the stage was a man wearing glasses he was Roy Legrange and he's helped to the lecture by a woman and he starts talking he says "Each morning, my wife, Sue Ann, reads me the news. Never seems good, does it?" The crowd agrees with him and he continues and says to the crowd of people "Seems like there's always someone committing some immoral, unspeakable act." As he speaks both Sam and Sarah sees a table onstage, filled with religious items. He notices an old wooden cross that is topped by a smaller cross in a circle. Roy then says "But, I say to you, God is watching." The crowd murmuring "Yes he is." Roy then says "God rewards the good, and He punishes the corrupt." The crowd continue to agree with what he says and he says "It is the Lord who does the healing here friends. The Lord who guides me in choosing who to heal by helping me see into people's hearts." Crowd agree again and then dean says quietly to sarah and sam "Yeah, and into their wallets."

Roy heard what dean said and he replied with "You think so, young man?" The room went completely quiet and dean said "Sorry." Roy said to Dean "No, no. Don't be. Just watch what you say around a blind man, we've got real sharp ears." The crowd laughs and then roy asks "What's your name son?" Dean answers coughing and hesitate "Dean." Roy says "Dean." He nods to himself and then he says "I want-I want you to come up here with me." The crowd claps except for Layla and her mother don't move, Sue ann moves to the centre stage smiling at Dean and dean shakes his head and says "No, it's ok." Sam and Sarah look at him and Sam whispers to dean "What are you doing?!" Roy says "You've come here to be healed, haven't cha?" Dean hesitating again says "Well, yeah, but ahh..." The crowd are clapping and applauding and he continues "... maybe you should just pick someone else." Sam and Sarah both look at him like he's insane and the crowd goes crazy.

Roy said "Oh, no. I didn't pick you, Dean, the Lord did." The crowd said excitingly "That's right! Yeah! Come on!" Sam and Sarah looked at Dean excitingly and Sam said "Get up there!" Dean finally but reluctantly rises and moves toward the stage, sue ann moves to assist and stand dean in front of roy. Roy asks Dean "Are you ready?" Dean says to Roy "Look, no disrespect, but ahh, I'm not exactly a believer." Roy smiles and says to Dean "You will be, son. You will be." He then says to the crowd "Pray with me, friends." Everyone lifts their hands up in the air and their join hands then Roy lifts his hands to the air, then places one first on Dean's shoulder and one on the side of his head.

Roy says to himself "Alright now. Alright now." Dean's eyes glaze over. His knees weaken and he sinks to his knees, Roy hand still on his head and he says "Alright, now." Dean starts feeling wobbly his eyes fall to the back of his head and he falls to the floor straight away Sam and Sarah go to dean's side to make sure he's alright. Whilst they are doing that the crowd clapping excitedly, sam grabs the front of dean's hoodie, dean's eyes open and he gasps and sarah says "Say something!" Dean blinks groggily and looks up. Roy is standing above him, hands out from his sides, palms up, looking happy and beside slightly behind Roy a tall man in a black suit with white hair, very white skin and extremely wrinkled skin comes into focus. He stares at Dean and then he vanishes, dean looks up at him shocked."

At the hospital Sarah asks Dean "So, you really feel okay?" Dean looks at sarah unhappy and says "I feel fine, Sarah." The Doctor enters the room with the paperwork and she says "Well, according to all your tests there's nothing wrong with your heart. No sign there ever was. Not that a man your age should be having heart trouble, but, still it's strange it does happen." Dean looked at the doctor confused and asks "What do you mean, strange?" The Doctor says "Well, just yesterday, a young guy like you, twenty-seven, athletic. Out of nowhere, heart attack." Dean doesn't know what to say he just says "Thanks Doc." The Doctor replied back with "No problem." He left the room and Dean said "That's odd." Sam said "Maybe it's a coincidence. People's hearts give out all the time, man." Dean wasn't convinced and he said "No, they don't." Sarah said "Look, Dean, do we really have to look this one in the mouth? Why can't we just be thankful that the guy saved your life and move on?" He looks over at sarah and he says "Because I can't shake this feeling, that's why." Sam asked "What feeling?" Dean said "When I was healed, I just...I felt wrong. I felt cold. And for a second...I saw someone. This, uh, this old man. And I'm telling you, Sam, it was a spirit." Sam said "But if there was something there, Dean, I think me and sarah would have seen it too. I mean, I've been seeing an awful lot of things lately."Dean says "Well, excuse me, psychic wonder. But you two just gonna need a little faith on this one. Sam, I've been hunting long enough to trust a feeling like this." Sam sighs and says "Yeah, alright. So, what do you wanna do?" Dean says "I want you to go check out the heart attack guy. Me and Sarah are gonna visit the reverend."

At Roy's house Roy, sarah and dean sit on the couch and Sue ann stands and fills up a glass and Dean says "I feel great. Just trying to, you know, make sense of what happened." Sue ann answered and she said "A miracle is what happened. Well, miracles come so often around Roy." Dean then turns to roy and he asks "When did they start? The miracles." Roy says "Woke up one morning, stone blind. Doctors figured out I had cancer, Told me I had maybe a month. So, uh, we prayed for a miracle. I was weak, but I told Sue Ann, 'You just keep right on praying.' I went into a coma. Doctors said I wouldn't wake up, but I did. And the cancer was gone." Roy takes off his sunglasses and his eyes are white.

He then says "If it wasn't for these eyes, no one would believe I'd ever had it." Sarah then asked "And suddenly you could heal people." Roy says "I discovered it afterward, yes. God's blessed me in many ways." Sue ann said "And his flock just swelled overnight. And this is just the beginning." Dean then asked "Can I ask you one last question?" Roy said "Of course you can." Dean says "Why? Why me? Out of all the sick people, why save me?" Roy said "Well, like I said before, the Lord guides me. I looked into your heart, and you just stood out from all the rest." Dean then asked "What did you see in my heart?" Sarah was interested to know as well as Dean and he says "A young man with an important purpose. A job to do. And it isn't finished." Both Dean and Sarah looks slightly surprised.

At the swimming locker room employee says "I'm telling you, he seemed healthy. Swam every day, didn't smoke. So, a heart attack just kind of seemed, well, bizarre." Sam says "And you said he was running, right before he collapsed?" The Man said "Yeah, yeah, he was freaking out. He said that something was, uh, was after him." Sam asked the man "Did he say what?" The man said "Well, thin air is what. I mean, it wasn't anything." Sam said "Alright, thanks." As sam was leaving he noticed that the clock wasn't working and said to the guy "Hey, buddy? Your, uh, your clock's busted." The man said "Oh, yeah, we, uh, can't get it workin'. Just froze at 4:17." Sam then asks "Is that the same time Marshal died?" The guy looks at him surprised and asks "How'd you know?"

At Roy's house Dean and Sarah are leaving, Layla and her mum walk up the stairs and Layla says "Sarah, Dean." Sarah and Dean stop and say "Hey." Layla then asks Dean "How you feeling?" Dean says "I feel I feel good. Cured, I guess. What are you doing here?" Layla replies "You know, my mom, she wanted to talk to the reverend." Sue ann comes to the porch and she says "Layla?" Layla says softly "Yes i'm here again." Sue Ann looks at Layla and her mum and says "Well, I'm sorry, but Roy is resting. He won't be seeing anyone else right now." Her mom then came forward and said "Sue Ann, please. This is our sixth time, he's got to see us." Sue ann turns to layla's mom and says "Roy is well aware of Layla's situation. And he very much wants to help just as soon as the Lord allows. Have faith, Mrs. Rourke." Sue ann goes back inside and Mrs Rourke turns and then she looks at sarah and dean and says to Dean frustrated "Why are you still even here? You got what you wanted."Layla said to her mom "Mom, stop." She looks at her daughter and says "No, Layla, this is too much. We've been to every single service. If Roy would stop choosing these strangers over you. Strangers who don't even believe. I just can't pray any harder." Sarah asks "Layla what's wrong?"Layla hesitating says "I've got this thing." Mrs Rourke says "It's a brain tumor. It's inoperable. In six months, the doctors say...." Sarah and Dean paused and then Layla put her hand on her mom's shoulder to stop her and then Dean says "I'm sorry." Layla replies with "It's okay." Mrs Rourke slowly stares into her daughter's eyes and then she looks back at dean and sarah mainly aimed at Dean and she says "No. It isn't. Why do you deserve to live more than my daughter?" Mrs Rourke and Layla walk away sarah and dean watch them walk away and then they turn their heads to the house.

At the motel Dean and Sarah enters, dean throwing the keys on the bed and dean beginnings to take off his jacket and sarah goes to the bathroom and sam's on his laptop and sarah says "Hey." Sam replies "Hey." Sam then saw dean and dean asked "What'd you find out?" Sam says quietly "I'm sorry." Dean was confused he threw his jacket onto the bed and approached sam and asked "Sorry about what?" Sam said "Marshall died at 4:17pm." Dean was stunned and he said "The exact time I was healed." Sam then said "Yeah. So, I put together a list of everyone Roy's healed, six people over the past year, and I cross-checked them with the local obits. Every time someone was healed, someone else died. And each time, the victim died of the same symptom LeGrange was healing at the time."

In the forest/park a woman is jogging along a path, headphones on the music "The lead in to 'Don't fear the Reaper' by Blue Oyster Cult begins to play quietly and gets gradually louder" Back at the motel dean says "Someone's healed of cancer, someone else dies of cancer?" Sam says "Somehow. LeGrange...he's trading a life for another." In the forest the woman stops running and takes her headphones off and says "Hello?" Dean says "Wait, wait, wait. So, Marshall Hall died to save me?" Sam looks up at him upset and says "Dean, the guy probably would've died anyway. And someone else would've been healed." In the tent roy has he's hand on a forehead of an old man in a wheelchair with a oxygen tank, back at the motel dean says "You and Sarah never should've brought me here." Sam said "Dean, we was just trying to save your life." Dean then said "But, Sam, some guy is dead now because of me." Sam simply says "I don't know."

In the tent Roy says to the crowd of people "Pray with me, friends." They all lift their hands into the air, at the motel sam says "The thing I don't understand is how is Roy doing it? How's he trading a life for a life?" Dean says "Oh, he's not doing it." Back in the park The woman is lent over, grasping for breath, Dean says "Something else is doing it for him." Sam looks at him confused and asks "What do you mean?" Dean says "The old man on the stage." The woman turns and the old man is in front of her, she is startled. Dean says "I didn't wanna believe it, but deep down I knew." Sarah had come out of the bathroom and she heard the conversation and she asked "You knew what? What are you talking about?" Dean says "There's only one thing that can give and take life like that." Sarah and Sam look at dean confused and then dean said "We're dealing with a reaper." In the park the music crescendos, the lyrics begin. 'Don't Fear the Reaper' by Blue Oyster Cult, The woman flees down the path, looking back, terrified and gasping. The reaper follows her calmly.

In the church service roy lifts his hands to heaven, preparing to lay them on the old man, in the park The woman, exhausted now, looks behind her again, seeing the reaper. When she turns forward she crashes into him and falls to he knees, The reaper lays his hand on the side of her face and her eyes glaze. Roy lays his hand on the old man's head, the woman gasps for breath, her face pale and she then falls to the ground dead, back in the tent The same reaper, invisible to the crowd, places his hand beside Roy's on the old man's head and then the man rises from his wheelchair and falls to his knees and the colour returns to his face and he slowly removes his oxygen tube, The crowd gasps and cheers roy smiles and the crowd claps and cheers.

In the motel Sam, Sarah and Dean are sitting at the table and Sarah asks "You really think it's THE Grim Reaper? Like, angel of death, collect your soul, the whole deal?" Dean said "No no no, not THE reaper, A reaper. There's reaper law in pretty much every culture on earth, it goes by 100 different names, it's possible that there's more than one of them." Sam says "But you said you saw a dude in a suit." Dean says "What, you think he shoulda been working the whole black robe thing?....You said it yourself that the clock stopped right? Reapers stop time. And you can only see 'em when they're coming at you which is why I could see it and you two couldn't." Sam simply said "Maybe." Dean then said "There's nothing else it could be Sam. The question is how is Roy controlling the damn thing?" Sarah said "That cross." Dean said "What?" Sam said "There was this cross, I noticed it in the church and I knew I had seen it before." Sam looks through papers and snorts, he holds up the card to sarah and dean and said "Here." Dean and Sarah lean in to take the card and Dean says "A tarot?" Sam says "It makes sense. A tarot dates back to the early christian era right, when some priests were still using magic? And a few of them veered into the dark stuff? Necromancy and how to push death away, how to cause it?" Dean said "So roy's So Roy's using black magic to bind the reaper?"

Sam says "If he is he's riding the whirlwind. It's like putting a dog leash on a great white." Dean rising to put his cup in the sink, then leaning back against it and asks Sam "Ok then how we stop Roy." Sarah and Sam look at Dean and sarah says "How?" Dean says "You know how." Sam then says "Wait, what the hell are you talking about Dean, we can't kill Roy." Dean looked at the both of them and then he said "Sarah and Sam the guys playing God, he's deciding who lives and who dies. That's a monster in my book."sam says "No. We're not going to kill a human being Dean. We do that we're no better than he is." Dean says "Ok, we cant kill Roy, we can't kill death. Any bright ideas college boy?" Sam says "Ok. uh...If Roy's using some kind of black spell on the reaper, we gotta...figure out what it is. And how to break it."

Outside the church tent in the carpark the impala bounces down the badly gravelled road again, passing a sign that says "Service today." They park the impala and then they get out and sam says "If Roy's using a spell, there might be a spell book." Dean says "See if you can find it." He looks at his watch and continues "Hurry up too, the service starts in fifteen minutes. I'll try to stall Roy." A man hands dean a leaflet and he says "Roy LeGrange is a fraud. He's no healer." Sarah says "Totally agree with you on that." Dean says " Amen Brother." Sam says "Keep up the good work." The guy says "Thank you."

At Roy's house he comes down the stairs , assisted by SUE ANN on one arm, a dark haired man the other. The camera pans to sam, watching them leave from the corner of the porch. Sam climbs in a window and starts searching the house. He looks on the bookshelves and pulls out the only book that doesn't have dust on the shelf in front of it. Encyclopedia of British History. He flips through it, finding nothing, then realizes there is another, smaller book, hidden on the bookshelf behind the larger one. Inside is a picture of a skeleton reaper, and on another page the wooden cross he saw earlier in the tent. He also finds newspaper articles about the people who died. The one that died for Dean was an openly gay teacher, the woman jogging an abortion rights advocate. He finds a third clipping about Wright, the man handing out leaflets in front of the tent.

Back at the tent church Dean and Sarah are slowly walking up the side aisles and then dean's phone starts ringing and he answers and it's sam and dean asks "What have you got?" Sam said "Roy's choosing victims he sees as immoral. And I think I know who's next on his list. Remember that protestor?" Dean said "What, the guy in the parking lot??" Sam said "Yeah. Yeah, I'll find him. But you and sarah can't let roy healing anyone, alright?" Dean hangs up and moves further toward the front of the tent he looks over at sarah and gives her the signal to keep moving which she notices and does. Outside Sam is looking through the parking lot for the protestor and inside roy said "Layla, Layla Rourke. Come on up Child." Layla and her mom was over the moon and they hugged and she said to her mom "Mum. Thank you." Her mum said "I love you." As Layla walked passed Dean he grabs her arm and he says "Layla, listen to me. You can't go up there." Layla was confused and said "Why not? We've waited for months!." Dean said "You can't let Roy heal you." Sarah noticed and was worried that Layla wouldn't listen and would go on stage unfortunately it doesn't go to plan and she goes onto the stage. Dean and Sarah annoyed go to the back where Layla's mom is crying with joy and her hands covering her face and outside Sam was still searching for the protestor and suddenly wright is running around a car the reaper following him slowly sam notices and wright says "Help! Help me please!" Sam finally finds Wright and he says "Where is he!" Wright grabs on sam's shoulder and he says "Right there!"

Sam grabs onto wright's shoulder and says to him " Fine, come on." Back in the tent roy is about to lay his hands on layla's head when all of a sudden he shouts FIRE! Hurry, tent's on fire!!" Layla opened her eyes and looks toward the crowd. Everyone starts to rise and evacuate, her mother had other ideas and she said "NO! No, please. Please don't stop. Reverend, please, please! Please don't stop, please!" Dean watches helplessly, roy then says "Friends, if you'd all just leave the tent in an orderly fashion...and we'll, uh, and we'll figure out what's going on out there and we'll come back." Dean takes out his cell phone and says to sam "I did it, I stopped Roy." Sam said "David, I think it's ok." David looks around at Sam nodding, then turns back around The reaper is in front of him Wright simply shouts "No." Sam into the phone says "Dean it didn't work.The reaper's still coming!" Dean is still on the phone and sam says to dean "I'm telling you, I'm telling you it didn't work. Roy must not be the one controlling this thing." Dean then says "Then who the hell is." Dean looks around and spies sue ann besides the stage, facing into the corner and is reciting.

Dean then says "Sue ann." He runs to her and spins her around and she, She gasps and stops reciting, reaching down to hold a cross on a chain around her neck and It is the same as the wooden cross Sam and Sarah saw earlier on. In the car park the reaper is holding on to wright's face and then Suddenly he stops, looking confused, and rises. Back in the church Sue Ann stares at Dean and tucking the cross inside her blouse and says "Help! Help me!" Dean backs away, nodding and staring at Sue Ann like he shouldn't have expected anything better. Two cops grab him roughly and pull him away.

In the carpark the reaper stares at Wright lying on the ground gasping for breath, then turns and vanishes. Sam goes over to Wright and he says "I got you. I got you." To which Wright simply says "Thank God." At the church tent entrance Two cops manhandle dean through the entry. He shakes them off as soon as they are outside sue ann follows closely behind and so does sarah and sue ann says to dean "I just don't understand. After everything we've done for you, After Roy healed you. I'm just very very disappointed Dean" Dean and Sarah just stare at her and they say nothing and Sue Ann says to the officers "You can let him go. I'm not gonna press charges, The Lord will deal with him as he sees fit." Sue Ann heads back into the tent and the officers look at dean and say "We catch you round here again son, we'll put the fear of God in you, understand?" Dean said "Yes sir, fear of god. Got it." They gave him one last push and then they left, sarah was by his side and Layla was there in front and she said to dean "Why would you do that Dean? And it could have been my only chance." Dean said "He's not a healer." Layla said to Dean "He healed you."

Dean said "I know it doesn't seem fair, and I wish I could explain. But Roy is not the answer, I'm sorry." She shakes her head sadly and says to Dean and Sarah "Good Bye Dean and Sarah." She walks away. Dean raises his eyes to the sky, then turns to watch her and then she turns around and says to the both of them "I wish you two luck, i really do." Sarah felt really bad for Layla wishing that she could do something to help her but she couldn't and dean says as his voice cracks "Same to you." Layla turns to walk away again and dean said underneath his breath so that even sarah couldn't hear him and he says "You deserve it a lot more than me." She walks passed Roy and Sue ann and roy says to Layla "Private session tonight, no interruptions. I give you my word, I'll heal your daughter." Dean and Sarah hand in hand walk pass them to where sam is waiting and the three of them overhear and Mrs Rourke says to roy and sue ann "Thank you reverend. God bless you."

Back at the hotel room Sam is sitting on the bed and he says "So Roy really believes." Dean says "I don't think he has any idea what his wife's doing." Sam then says "Well, I found this." He shows them a small book and he hands it over to dean and continues "Hidden in their library. It's ancient. Written by a priest who went dark side. There's a binding spell in here for trapping a reaper." Sarah says "Must be a hell of a spell." Sam says "Yeah. You gotta build a black alter with seriously dark stuff. Bones, human blood. To cross a line like that, a preachers wife. Black magic. Murder. Evil" Dean said "Desperate. Her husband was dying, she didn't have anything to save him. She was using the binding spell to keep the reaper away from Roy." Sam says "Cheating death, literally." Dean said "Yeah but Roy's alive, so why is she still using the spell?" Sarah said "Right. To force the reaper to kill people she thinks are immoral." Dean then says "May God save us from half the people who think they're doing God's work." Sam says "We've gotta break that binding spell dean." Dean then remembers and says "You know Sue Ann had a coptic cross like this. When she dropped it the reaper backed off."

Sam said "So you think we gotta find the cross or destroy the alter?" Dean said "Maybe both. Whatever we do we better do it soon, or he's healing Layla tonight." It was night time and they was in the church tent car park and Sam says "That's Layla's car. She's already here." Dean nods sadly and says "Yeah."Sarah said "Dean...." But before she could finish dean said "You know if Roy woulda picked Layla instead of me she'd be here right now. And if she's not healed tonight she's gonna die in a couple months." Sam said "What's happening to her is horrible. But what are you gonna do? Let somebody else die to save her? You said it yourself Dean, you can't play God." Dean doesn't say anything he just sits there, then they get out of the car and They approach the tent and peek inside, roy is speaking to a small group of the faithful, including Layla and her mother.

Roy says "Gather round, please everyone, gather round. Come in closer, come on up." Dean asks "Where's sue ann?" Sam says "The house." They all moved to the house and Dean says to Sam and Sarah "Go find Sue Ann, I'll catch up." Sam asks as he's been pushed away, "What are you going to do?" Dean spying the cops from earlier on coming down the stairs and he says "Hey!" The cops look over and dean says "You gonna put that fear of God in me?" The cops drop their coffees and run after dean, who takes off. As soon as they're gone Sam and Sarah runs up the stairs and checks around the house. It is in darkness they turn back, confused then spots light emerging from the cracks of the outside basement entrance. Dean silently creeps up beside a camper van. The cops are on the other side with flashlights. The first cop asks "You see him?" The second cop says "No." Sam and Sarah moves toward the basement entrance, opens the doors and slips inside, Dean slowly rises next to the passenger window of the camper van, looking behind him. A large dog jumps at the window, barking wildy and he leaps back. On the other side of the van the cops shine their lights underneath, then in at the dog who is still barking. The first cop says "Psycho mutt." They move on, on the roof as dean sticks his head over. He looks around tensely, then sags against the roof.

Sam and Sarah quietly through the basement to a candlelit alter littered with parts of dead animals, blood, horns, etc. There is a photo in the middle of Dean , taken from the security camera the first time they were in the tent, before he was healed. His face has been crossed out with what looks like blood. Sue ann said from behind the both of them "I gave your brother and boyfriend life, I can take it away." Sam and Sarah are furious, He tips over the table the alteris on, then runs at SUE ANN but she is already up the stairs, She closes the hatches and secures it with a beam sam and sarah stretches to push against them and keeps trying. Sue ann says to the both of them "Sarah and Sam can't you see? The Lord chose me to reward the just and punish the wicked. And your brother and boyfriend is wicked and he deserves to die just as Layla deserves to live. It is God's will. They both survey the room and then sam SAM pulls a block off wood out from the wall and smashes out a small boarded up window.

Back at the church roy says "Mrs Rourke, pray with me now. Roy takes her hand and says " Pray with me friends." In the car park Dean is heading toward the tent when some lights go out. He stops, looking behind him, and watches the line of lights lighting the path go out one by one. He turns back to see the reaper walking toward him. Roy raising his hands and says "All right now, all right." He places his hand on Layla's head and just outside the door Sue ann is reciting Latin and holding the cross in her hands. In the carpark The reaper places his hand on the side of Dean's head, he convulses once. Back inside the church Layla is sinking to her knees, outside dean is doing the exact same thing and his eyes glaze over. Sue ann is reciting holding up the cross Sam and Sarah appear sam grabs it and throws it aside and breaking a bottle of blood, The reaper stops what he is doing and looks up as dean falls to the ground gasping in the church tent Roy was confused and he said "I don't understand..." Layla was confused as well and says "I don't....feel any different...?" Sue ann falls to her knees and looks up at sam and sarah and she says "My God, what have you done!" Sarah says "He's not your god." Layla looks up at the reverend confused and she says "Reverend?"

Roy said "Sue ann?" Outside, sue ann looks up and see's the reaper. He smiles at her. Terrified, she rises and turns to run. The reaper is there. He places his hand on her head, her eyes glaze over and she falls to her knees. After a moment, still smiling, he allows her to slip to the ground where she convulses once, twice, and dies. The reaper watches, looking satisfied. Sam and Sarah and Sam turn and go over to dean and sarah hugs him and he hugs her back and then she hugs sam and he hugs her back and then sam asked dean "You Ok?" Dean shakes his head and says Hell of a week." Sarah said "Yeah....All right, come on. We should get going." They enter the car and left and headed for the motel and then after sometime layla was at the front door and she wanted to say her goodbyes and wish all of them good luck and sarah and dean said "we're not much of a praying time....but... we are gonna pray for you." Her eyes shine with tears and she says "Well...There's a miracle right there." Layla turns and leaves sarah and dean standing there sarah looked over at Dean and said "Hey you gonna be all right?" He hugged and kissed her and said "Yeah with you i'll always be all right."
