Chapter 32

The past few days have been great. Its over a month into the new year and school had been canceled because of a witch potion gone horribly wrong making anyone that walked on school grounds violently ill. So both Annabelle and Fenris had been waking up, and having cereal on the couch as they binge watched shows. Today's choice was Annabelle's and she choose The Amazing World of Gumball, so they sat there while Annabelle cuddled under Fenris' wing. But, Fenris was having a hard time focusing on the show, or even the wonderful feeling of Annabelle pressed against her.

Getting up, with protest from Annabelle, Fenris walked to the bedroom sat on the bed and looked online. Fenris wanted to take Annabelle out on that date she promised her for Christmas. Thankfully the fair she wanted to take Annabelle to was open today until 5pm. Looking over at the clock she saw it was just past eleven, so they had plenty of time to enjoy the fair as long as they leave before noon.

After new years the weather had gotten really bad, raining and freezing cold all the time. Fenris was getting anxious with each passing day, she wanted to finally take Annabelle on a date, but the weather kept getting worse. Today however the weather finally seemed to give up. It was still cool outside but nothing a jacket wouldn't fix.

Taking a deep breath Fenris walked back over to the couch and sat down next to Annabelle, who immediately snuggled into Fenris' side and back under her wing, while still watching her show.

"Hey, Annabelle?" Annabelle hummed acknowledging Fenris. "You know how for Christmas one of your presents was a date to a fair." Looking away from the show Annabelle stared up at Fenris waiting for her to continue. "Well, I just looked it up, and it seems like it's open, today. So I was wondering, do you want to go, with me, today?"

Annabelle got up and straddled Fenris' lap, holding her face. "Are you serious?"

"Yes." Fenris said, cautiously.

Annabelle's eyes got wide and she jumped up and started pacing. "Oh my Goddess! When do we leave? What should I wear? How far away is it? Should I pack snacks?"

Laughing Fenris got up and grabbed Annabelle's shoulders stopping her pacing. "I want us to leave in at least a half hour since it's a little bit of a drive. Wear something comfortable, jeans and a jacket. As for food I will buy us everything at the fair, okay?"

"Okay." Annabelle said, taking a deep breath.

"Let me go grab a pair of clothes so I can change in the bathroom and you can change in the bedroom." Fenris said, kissing Annabelle on the forehead and walked to the bedroom grabbing her favorite torn black jeans and an oversized black hoodie that if she got cold could tuck her wings into.

Fenris hated changing in the bathroom, not only was it inconvenient because of her wings, but she would rather change in HER bedroom with HER mate. There had been a few times when Annabelle and Fenris tried to change together, but whenever it came to Annabelle taking her clothes off in front of Fenris she got scared and would start crying. Fenris would have to slowly walk to her speaking softly and wrap her in a hug whispering in Annabelle's ear that she's alright and how much Fenris loves her.

They had made some progress with Annabelle feeling more normal being physical with Fenris. Annabelle had become very touchy and affectionate, often initiating make out sessions or pushing Fenris down and cuddling on top of her, but this was only as long as they both were fully clothed.

Fenris loved that Annabelle was comfortable with her, but she needed more. Like she told Annabelle she honestly didn't care if they never had sex, but wolves and demons were two of the most touch sensitive supernaturals. Most mated pairs would rarely wear clothes around each other and even if they did they would wear something that they could feel their mates skin in. Annabelle wasn't there yet, and although it frustrated Fenris, it hurt that Annabelle had this issue in the first place.

So sighing Fenris pulled the clothes on quick and brushed through her long straight black hair. Walking to the kitchen Fenris grabbed her wallet and made sure she had her I.D., card, and at least $100 dollars cash in it. She had never been to a fair before so she hoped that was enough money for food and games.

Not even a minute later she heard the bedroom door open and Annabelle walked out in tight skinny jeans and a red t-shirt with Fenris' black leather jacket over it. Fenris felt her mouth go dry, she could see all of Annabelle's curves perfectly outlined in this outfit.

Annabelle, oblivious to her effect on Fenris, was happily walking over going through her small backpack. "Okay I just need to grab my phone." Annabelle walked over to the coffee table where she had left it and bent down giving Fenris the amazing view of her ass in the tight jeans. Eyes comically wide and jaw open, Fenris couldn't take her eyes away from the beautiful view.

Standing up and turning around slowly Annabelle looked at Fenris confused. "Are you okay? What happened?"

Blinking, Fenris cleared her throat, "W-what, umm, nothing, nothing happened. Why would you think something happened?" Fenris asked.

"I can-I can smell your, arousal." Annabelle said, blushing.

[Shit.] "You look great, and then you bent over, and, yeah." Fenris said, rubbing the back of her neck, face burning like she was on fire.

Annabelle looked down, her face as bright as Fenris'. "I'm sorry."

"What? Why are you sorry?"

"I know I, turn you on. With me not being ready it's probably really frustrating and I want to, help you, but,"

Fenris cut her off, "Stop." Walking over she cupped Annabelle cheek bring her face up. "What did I tell you when you came back to me?"

"You said you'd wait for me, no matter how long it took." Annabelle whispered.

"That's right. Yes you turn me on, but I will forever wait for you." Fenris whispered back, leaning down pressing their foreheads together.

"I love you."

"I love you too, always." Fenris replied, leaning down capturing Annabelle's lips in a short but heated kiss. Barely pulling away Fenris slowly opened her eyes, "Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah." Annabelle panted.

Walking to the door Fenris opened it and held it open for Annabelle. "Wait, Fenris! What about your wings?!"

"Don't worry about that."

Looking skeptical but trusting Fenris, Annabelle walked out of the apartment and down to the car. Fenris locked the door and followed unlocking the car and getting into the driver seat.

"So it will take about an hour to get there since it's sort of in the middle of nowhere." Fenris explained starting the car and pulling out of the parking spot.

"Why is it in the middle of nowhere?"

"You'll see when we get there." Fenris said, smiling as she got onto the highway.

Fenris pulled up to the place grateful to finally get out of the car. Ten minutes in Annabelle had found the aux cord and had blasted Disney songs, when she saw that Fenris wasn't singing but mouthing the words, she made it her mission to make Fenris sing. This meant that Fenris' over sensitive hearing was bombarded not only by the speakers, but also her mate yelling the words at her.

Getting out of the car Fenris stretched and tried to shake the songs from Hercules out of her head, to no avail.

Opening the passenger door Annabelle looked at the place mouth open and eyes sparkling. "I thought you said we were going to a fair." she said, closing the door.

"We are."

"This, this isn't a fair."

Fenris looked at the place and could hear laughter and the whirring of the rides. "Then what do you call this place?"

"This is an amusement park. When you said fair I thought eating contest and the only ride being a Ferris wheel."

"Well that sounds interesting, but not as fun as this. Did you want to go find a fair?" Fenris asked, nervous that she had messed up.

"No. No, I like this way more." Annabelle said, walking up to Fenris and grabbing her hand with a smile. "Come on lets go buy our tickets."

They started walking till Annabelle stopped, forcing Fenris to stop. "You never said how you can get in with your wings." Annabelle stated frantically.

"It's a special supernatural 'amusement' park. Everything in there is made specially for the supernatural, from the food to the rides. There's a special barrier charm around the whole place that doesn't allow humans to see or cross." Fenris said, pulling Annabelle to the entrance.

They were able to quickly get their tickets, with a slight argument between Fenris and Annabelle because Annabelle wanted to pay for her ticket and Fenris wouldn't let her. Annabelle pouted but Fenris kissed her on the cheek and the pout slowly wiped away.

"Here's the map. Let's see how to get to where the rides are?"

Annabelle took the map and opened it. "So it looks like at the front is all the kid rides and once we pass them it's all the adult rides. Then all the food stations are spread out."

"Alright, lets go through the kid area and then we can see what's around."

That was easier said than done. There were kids everywhere, running, screaming and crying, it all stressed Fenris out so much. Then a kid stepped on the tips of her wings causing her to growl out in anger and pain. This lead to people distancing themselves from her and Annabelle, which she sort of preferred.

"Oh my Goddess! Fenris look." Annabelle squealed, grabbing Fenris' hand and dragging her over to a small fenced in enclosure. It was a petting zoo, inside there were miniature horses, goats, and sheep. With it being a supernatural park though there were other creatures like enfields, pegasi, and a pond with a kelpi in it. "Can we go in?" Annabelle begged, looking up at Fenris with big puppy dog eyes. Knowing she wouldn't be able to say no Fenris sighed, and nodded her head, even though she didn't want to go in, but smiled when she saw Annabelle jumping around out of joy.

Walking to the entrance Fenris payed the small fee for them to get in, and off Annabelle went petting all the small animals that came up to her. Standing off to the side smiling Fenris watched as Annabelle was trying to pet the kelpi and a baby goat was trying to get her attention. A tugging on her jeans pulled Fenris' eyes away from Annabelle and down, an enfield kit was trying to climb up her.

Bending down she picked the kit up and looked at it. It was much redder than the other cubs around and had mismatched eyes, one black and the other white. Whining it wriggled out of her grasp and climbed up her chest to her shoulder where it sat and looked out over the pen. It's feathers puffed up and Fenris could feel it's tailing swishing against her back. Enfields were a uncommon chimera, they looked like a fox but they had feathers all over their body as well as wings attached to their front legs that looked like a raptors.

Staring at the kit Fenris thought it looked like a dragon in olden age surveying it's territory. A click off to the side caught Fenris' attention and she turned towards it to see Annabelle pointing her phone at her, clearly taking a picture.

"You two look so cute together." Annabelle gushed, walking up to Fenris and holding out her phone. Fenris thought the picture was more funny than cute. There she stood with a bewildered look and one eyebrow raised as an enfield kit sat on her shoulder looking stoic, it's chest puffed out.

"Are you ready to go? We can go on a few rides then get something to eat." Fenris said, seeing Annabelle bending down and petting the baby goat that was still following her.

"Okay." Annabelle said, standing up and opening her backpack grabbing hand sanitizer. Squirting some in her hand she rubbed it in, then grabbed Fenris' hand and squirted some in hers. Pulling out the map Annabelle unfurled it, "Which ride should we go on first? There's a huge rollercoaster called Lucifer's train, one of those live action rides called Alien Mutation, then there's a horror one called King Tut's Return where the cart spins too."

"Is it only rollercoaster type rides?" Fenris asked, cocking her head to the side, not knowing the enfield did the same thing.

Annabelle smiled, trying hard not to laugh. "Pretty much, the only difference between each ride is the theme and how the track is set."

"I thought there would be more."

"There is, but the real attraction are the games and food."

"Which one's closest?"

Annabelle looked back down at the map, "It looks like Alien Mutation is the closest one. So we can do that one first and then walk all the way around so we see everything."

"Sounds like a plan." Fenris said nodding, the enfield again mimicking her action.

Not being able to stop herself Annabelle burst out laughing at the pair, only to laugh harder when Fenris cocked her head in confusion and the kit did the same thing. After a minute Annabelle was able to control her laughing so she could speak. "That enfield seems to adore you, it's copying your movements."

Fenris turned to look at it and the enfield turned to look at her. "Well I can't keep you buddy, I have to go now." Like it could understand her the enfield latched it's talons into Fenris' shoulder. "Ow. Come on buddy, let go." Fenris said, trying to slowly pry the talons free. It dug it's little talons in more and would nip at Fenris' hand when she tried to get it off.

Turning to ask Annabelle for help she saw her holding up her phone. "Are you recording this?" Annabelle nodded her head with a huge grin. "So you're not going to help me?"

Before Annabelle could reply a park employee came over, "Ma'am are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I just can't get this kit to let go of me." Fenris explained.

"Here let me try." The employee said. Walking up to Fenris the employee cooed at the enfield, but when they went to touch the creature it fluffed it's feathers out and started growling low. Startled the employee yanked their hand back. "That's weird, usually this kit is the calmest of it's litter."

"Well is there someone else who could get him off me?"

"How about you adopt him?"

"What?"

"You can adopt the animals here?" Annabelle asked.

"Yes, you can adopt all except the pegasi and kelpi. All the animals here were rescued either from experimentation, hunters, or previously abusive owners. Normally the enfields would be released, but this litter was born in captivity and separated from their mother by some poachers, they wouldn't survive. They're uncommon as house pets, but if they become attached like this they tend to thrive."

Annabelle grabbed Fenris' hand, stopping Fenris from immediately rejecting the idea. "What's the whole process for adoption?"

"Well for the enfields we need a form of I.D. saying you are 18 or older, then it's a $60 adoption fee."

"What about food, habitat, behavior, all that stuff?" Fenris asked, mainly looking at Annabelle.

"We have a little book with all the knowledge you would need for taking care of an enfield. And, if you like we can give you a teleportation crystal so you can get the enfield whenever you like."

Annabelle looked up at Fenris with her puppy dog eyes again, then looked at the kit and saw it was doing a similar expression. "I'm going to be outnumbered from now on aren't I?" Fenris asked, sighing.

Annabelle squealed and nearly started vibrating. The enfield, seeming to pick up on the good news, glided to the ground and started circling the couple making a series of excited chirping noises.

"Alright let me just see your I.D. so I know your at least 18." the employee said with a smile.

Fenris pulled out her wallet and showed the I.D. to the employee and they went to get the paperwork and teleportation crystals. They came back a few minutes later and handed the paperwork to Fenris so she could sign it, took a picture of her I.D., then gave her the crystals.

"You're all set. Do you know how the crystals work?"

Fenris nodded and the employee walked away. Looking over at Annabelle she saw her sitting down with the kit in her lap and happily talking to it, the kit paying very close attention to her. This time Fenris took out her phone and got a picture of the two, setting it as her wallpaper before walking over.

Kneeling down Fenris took one of the crystals and put it around the enfields neck, when it was secure it emitted a soft purple glow. Tying the other around her wrist she watched it do the same. "We're all set. When I break this crystal our new family member will be teleported right to us."

"Yayyy! Now we need to think of a name for him."

"Why don't we leave him here and go on some rides. You can think of names all day."

"Okay!" Annabelle said, standing up and putting the enfield down. "Don't worry buddy you'll be with us soon." she said when she saw the sad look on its face as they walked out the gate.

The couple spent the next few hours walking around and going on rides that they thought looked fun. A few had been disappointing, one just went in a circle in the building and another was basically a story while on a rollercoaster, overall it was a lot of fun. They walked around holding hands, taking pictures, and kissing before and after each ride.

It had been a while since they'd eaten though so Annabelle had asked if they could get food now. Fenris held Annabelle's hand and started looking around trying to find a food stand that served something a werewolf can eat.

After walking for a minute past many of the games Fenris felt Annabelle's hand slide out of her own. Looking back she saw Annabelle standing there staring at a medium sized stuffed husky that had wings and a halo as well as a little red heart hanging out of it's mouth. Looking at the game Fenris saw it was the one where you throw darts at the balloons and try to pop them.

Walking up to the slightly older guy who ran the game Fenris could see him take a step back as she got closer. "How many do I have to pop to get that stuffed animal?" she asked, pointing at the dog.

"U-uh, that's a medium prize, so you need to pop six. Each round is $10 and you get three darts." he said, looking a little worried.

Nodding her head Fenris pulled out her wallet and handed him a $20.

Noticing Fenris handing the guy money Annabelle walks over, "Fenris, what are you doing?"

"I'm going to win you that stuffed animal you were looking at." Fenris says, taking the darts from the employee.

"What? No you don't have to do that. You've paid for everything already I don't need it okay." Annabelle turned to the employee wanting to get the money back, but Fenris grabbed her arm.

"Do you want it?"

"I don't need it." Annabelle said stubbornly.

"Babe, I didn't ask if you needed it, I asked if you want it." Fenris chuckled.

Annabelle glared up at Fenris, "You know I want it and no matter what I say I'm not gonna change your mind from you winning it for me, am I?"

Fenris smirked, "Nope." she said popping the p.

Annabelle had a look on her face then nodded and grabbed her purse. Opening it she took out her wallet and grabbed a $20 handing it to the employee.

"What are you doing? I just told you I was going to win the puppy for you. Why did you buy darts?" Fenris asked confused.

"You're gonna win me something so I want to win you something." Annabelle said, smiling as the employee handed her her darts.

They stood next to each other and both started aiming for the larger balloons, these were easier targets but moved more. Fenris hit her first three easy, but Annabelle missed one. The next three were the hardest because there were exactly six balloons left, so if they threw at the same one then it wouldn't count. They took turns aiming, Fenris letting Annabelle throw first. Annabelle had thrown all hers and missed one so she got a total of four. Fenris hadn't missed any and was on her last dart. Aiming for a slightly bigger one she threw the dart, only for it to hit the side of the balloon and not pop it.

Growling Fenris grabbed another $10 from her pocket and went to hand it to the guy. "Wait." Annabelle said, grabbing the money and turning to the employee. "Can we combine our points? That way we get a small prize and a medium prize."

The employee just shrugged his shoulders, "Sure."

"Well do that please. The medium prize will be that puppy." Annabelle stood up on her toes and kissed Fenris on the lips. "What prize do you want babe?"

Blushing Fenris wrapped her arm around Annabelle's waist and looked at the prizes. "That one." she said pointing at a small blue stuffed dolphin.

The employee grabbed the stuffed animals and handed them over, Annabelle immediately holding the puppy to her chest and smashing her face against it. Laughing Fenris kissed the side of Annabelle's face, "Let's go get something to eat and then we can go home." Annabelle nodded and put her arm around Fenris' waist.

They walked around and found a stand they both agreed on that sold turkey legs Fenris wanted and burgers that Annabelle wanted. Finding a place to sit they saw a stage nearby with a band singing so they sat where they could hear the music, but it wasn't too loud.

Finishing the food they threw their trash away and leisurely walked back through the park, going on rides that they enjoyed, till they got back to the entrance and went to the car.

Walking into the apartment Fenris felt wiped, it had been a fun day, but it was new, so the experience had sort of drained Fenris' energy. Annabelle, who had fallen asleep in the car snuggling her stuffed animal, had woken up and not said a word since. This was strange but Fenris figured she was just as exhausted as herself.

"If you don't mind I'm gonna go change first and just take a shower in the morning." Fenris said, pecking Annabelle on the lips and walking to the bedroom. Only to be stopped by Annabelle grabbing her wrist.

"I love you." Annabelle said.

Grinning Fenris walked back to Annabelle and wrapped her in a hug. "I love you too, always."

"Fenris, I want to be closer with you. Physically. I'm not ready for sex, but I-I want you to hold me while we're both only wearing our underwear." Annabelle rushed out, her cheeks pink and looking everywhere but at Fenris.

Fenris froze. She had not expected this to happen. "Are you sure?" she whispered.

Annabelle looked up at her and nodded.

Picking Annabelle up Fenris walked to the bedroom and closed the door. "Do you want me to watch, or..." Fenris asked, not sure what to do."

"C-could you turn around and get undressed yourself. Then we, we can both get in bed."

"Okay. I'll do whatever you need okay?"

Annabelle nodded and turned away. Fenris turned around too and quickly took her clothes off trying hard not to turn around, or get her wings caught in them.

Deciding to get into bed first Fenris turned her back on the area Annabelle was in and waited.

Eventually she felt the other side of the bed dip and the covers pull back. Slowly Fenris moved onto her back, having to awkwardly adjust her wings, and looked over at Annabelle who had the covers pulled tight up to her chin.

Moving her arms Fenris extended them in a silent request. Annabelle took a deep breath and moved into Fenris' arms, her body rigid from fear.

Wrapping her arms around her mate Fenris rubbed her hands up and down Annabelle's back and arms, whispering sweet nothings into the space around them. Annabelle eventually relaxed and snuggled into Fenris, wrapping an arm around Fenris' exposed stomach.

"Can you tell me why you want this all of the sudden?" Fenris questioned.

Annabelle was silent for a second before snuggling her face into Fenris' neck. "I had been wanting this for a while, but whenever I tried to ask you I would have a panic attack. But then in the car, I had a nightmare. Johnny, Johnny went after me and you rushed forward to save me so you got hurt instead. I woke up not knowing if you died or not." Annabelle sobbed into Fenris' neck.

[That emotional idea is what triggered this. She needed physical contact.]. "I'm not going anywhere. So try to sleep and don't worry about it." Fenris said, rubbing Annabelles back, waiting till Annabelle drifted off before she did.
