When An Angel cries, Red lighting strikes the Earth.

Things in heaven had quieted down, it was too quiet. Life in heaven had returned to how it was before the civil war, Naomi and her department seemingly disappeared into the shadows.

Still, I ordered all the Seraphim to stay in heaven and closely watch Raphael's movements. The Archangel had picked up a sudden interest in heaven's souls, and I wasn't completely convinced that he had given up on absorbing Purgatory's souls.

Father and I were in the kitchen, he was making some chocolate pancakes for himself and death, while I was waiting for the ramen to finish cooking in the boiling water.

I didn't need to make ramen the normal way, I could easily conjure it out of thin air or manipulate the air to make the perfect ramen. But, something like ramen should be made by hand for the perfect experience.

We heard Death make a loud snort as we looked over our shoulders, Death was watching this advertisement about some medicine that could cure and lessen the chance of cancer.

"Typical humans, always looking for a way to satisfy their immeasurable greed and thinking that they can stop the problem they created." I raised an eyebrow at Death's little rant as I turned off the stove and poured the cooked ramen into a bowl.

"Honestly, if humans only stop half of the things that they do regularly, climate change wouldn't exist, cancer wouldn't have developed this far, they are only putting themselves in a never-ending cycle of death." I was surprised at Death's change of view about humans, normally he was indifferent and only wanted to do his job.

"This is the first time I've seen you this expressive about humanity, besides the very concept of you is a riddle that the living will never get to understand." I began to eat the steaming noodles as Father put two plates of chocolate pancakes on the table.

"Son, would you please get me a bottle of water? And please, stop doing the water-to-wine trick. I'm tired of people praying to become the new Jesus." My Father took a bite out of his pancake as I rolled my eyes.

"One time! I perform the trick one time, and suddenly everyone expects me to open a distillery! If it was Gabriel, he would have turned the world's water source into wine and drank it!! I grabbed the bottle of water and passed it to my father.

It was a pretty calm breakfast before we all heard the sound of flapping wings as Castiel stumbled into the room, his skin covered in blisters and black goo.

"Brother, heaven needs your help...you are the only angel that is left to stop Raphael..." I caught Castiel became he hit the floor and checked his pulse.

"He's fine, just passed out from the injuries that he sustained." I started to heal his wounds and placed his body on the couch.

"Son, you need to go back to heaven right now, I sense a great disturbance within its hall and the Throne room." My Father's eyes were glowing as he pointed to windows.

I looked out of the window and saw the darkening sky, red lighting was forming in the clouds and I could hear nothing but static on angel radio.

I flew to heaven!? This place was nothing like my home, purple tendrils covered the floors and walls, and the once bright fluorescent light that lit up the pathways was now replaced with dim, flickering lights.

"Ezekiel! Peter! Abel!! I called their names throughout heaven, and all I received was silence. Even the animals that Inhabited paradise had miraculously disappeared.

I figured that the Throne room was my best bet to figure out what was going on, as I flew through countless paradises I could feel myself becoming increasingly nauseous as I took in the grim state of heaven.

I entered the Throne room and looked at the horrid, wretched, form that was formerly the Arcangel Raphael. The entire room was covered in purple tendrils that took up most of the room, leaving only Raphael's face that was covered in black veins like a Leviathan.

"Oh my God, what the hell have you done Raphael? You succeed in absorbing the souls in purgatory, now you just look like a mutated angel. You must abandon this before it poisons your mind." Raphael's head tilted his head ominously as he stared at me.

"Isaiel, it's quite a pleasure that you came. Have you come to submit to your new God and Father? The Archangel was gone, in its place was something so foul that all that remained was a large mass of purple tendrils and a God complex.

"Brother, what blasphemy are you saying? You're not God, you need to snap out of the Leviathan's cont---" I couldn't finish my sentence as I had to dodge long purple tendrils that tried to consume me.

"Heretic! You dare defy your God! Your essence will serve my will like all the others did!! Blobs of purple tendrils sprung out of the ground and charged up beams of lightning.

"Great, so it seems that my brother swallowed the Leviathans alongside the souls of heaven, further enhancing his abilities and making him more dangerous. I need to separate the souls in his body to weaken him." I grabbed the beams of lighting and chucked them back to the purple blobs.

The blobs exploded as the thing that was my brother screamed, an expression of pain briefly shown on his face before the blobs quickly regenerated. The blobs absorbing more of the room to make up for the missing mass and adapting to prevent getting injured.

"Damn, it seems that this thing is being more Leviathan by the second. It even mimics their power of adaptability." The purple blob started to makes weapons and take the form of Ezekiel and Abel.

"Sire, why do you fight against your God? Embrace his love and become one, it's so beautiful, no pain, sadness, you could live the rest of eternity in pure bliss." The blob that looked and sounded like Ezekiel tried to grab me in an attempt to join the abomination.

I quickly sidestepped and summoned my sword, bringing the blade straight through the heart and splitting it into two as the blob combust into flames.

"Why do you fight it, once you stop resisting then you can finally stop being a failure. You failed the Seraphim, you failed heaven, your family, why don't you do what's right and finally contribute to the story." The voice of Abel taunting me as I plunged the flaming sword through the blob's head.

"Your annoying, why don't you try and turn into someone I actually failed instead of trying to manipulate me by using their faces." I looked up and saw the creature charge up a ball of lightning and fired the ball intending to vaporize me.

Just as the beam was approaching my face, I used my powers over shadows to teleport to the Gateways, I needed to prevent that abomination from spreading its tendrils and absorbing the human souls on Earth.

The once serene Empyrean, laid in complete ruins as buildings were destroyed and endless purple tendrils were trying to absorb more into their being.

"It seems that Raphael hit this place first, probably absorbed the souls sleeping in the lsle of bliss and then spread out throughout the Empyrean before conquering heaven, my plan is mostly likely the most logical option on the table. Any other alternatives would probably result in harming the humans and angels who are still alive in the mass, and potentially allow the Leviathans to escape."

The first thing that I saw when I teleported to the portal network, was the giant force field that was erected to prevent the purple mass from entering the Firmament.

I looked around to try and find the Gatekeepers, they were the only ones who had the key to forcibly close all access in and out of heaven.

The ground was littered with spears and shield from the Gatekeepers, I found pieces of their armor scattered about as if they had been torn off.

I quickly teleported to the center of the portals network, where all the portals were connected to one place and the last line of defense for the Gatekeepers.

When I got there, the body of Skylor was huddled aurond the pedestal seemingly dead. The key for closing the Gateways was in her arms as the blood pooled from her slit neck.

I gently pryed the key from her cold hands and sent a silent prayer to Father and Death as an apology for what I must do.

I got on the pedestal and like an elevator, the lift brought me to the upper layer where the control terminal blinked to life.

"Please place your hand for biometric scan, you are attempting to access this secure terminal. Unauthorized access will result in the Gatekeepers and the Seraphim, to appear at your current location. Do you accept the risks? [Y/N]

[Y/N] I clicked the yes button, and placed my hand on the scanner and infused my grace which the scanner flashed green in acceptance.

"Welcome, Administrator." Four monitors turned on, displaying the current status of all the portals and angels that have some connection to heaven on Earth, Hell, the Veil, and universe-█████.

In the center was a monitor that only displayed a button with the words "Lockdown", my finger hovered over the button as I contemplated the consequences of what I was doing before I pressed the button.

"Please enter security key, and be advised that this action cannot be reversed without proper authentication as heaven will be permanently closed till new action." I inserted the key and twisted the key as the dots that represented access points disappeared one-by-one.

I knew that Heaven was now officially closed, no soul in or out would be able to reach heaven and that abomination's influence would be contained to one place until I could deal with it.

I needed to deal with this problem now before things get out of hand with heaven being closed, I needed a distraction so that I can get the Ark of the covenant and I knew just the person.

I closed my eyes and imagined the cage, the feeling of perpetual cold attacking your grace as all you can see is pure darkness.

I used my mental image as an access point, as I created a rift in space as close to the Cage before heaven blocks it.

I used my own grace to stabilize the portal and keep it running, I needed to be quick since all of Heaven's defenses were deactivated and It wouldn't be long until the blob figured out what was going on.

I jumped through the rift and felt the icy cold creep through my skin, it felt unnatural to come back to this place ever since Lucifer was chained and imprisoned.

I walked towards the actual cage and there they were, Michael and Lucifer were sitting on opposite sides and it look like they had just finished a fight.

"Well, look who finally came to visit us Michael. The brother who missed the big prize fight and conspired against his own brothers." Lucifer mocking tone rang out from the Cage, the air felt colder as both Archangels stood up and looked at me.

"Michael, I know it's been a while since we talked. But, I need your help in combating this new threat that has taken control of Raphael and Heaven." I got closer to Michael and told him everything, the civil war, Raphael and Castiel's plan for purgatory, and how almost all of heaven was now covered in purple fleshy mass.

"We need to protect the humans, if this threat is as powerful as you believe it is, then we need to stop it now before all is lost." I raised an eyebrow at Michael's change of heart towards humans, it seems that his time with Adam and the cage had humbled him.

"Hey, I think you guys are forgetting someone? Come on, if things are that bad upstairs then you're going to need my help in defeating it. And quick question, how do you plan on opening this Cage? I scoffed at Lucifer's poor attempt of manipulation.

"I don't need your help, you are more of a risk than that swirling purple mass. Besides, I know how to make a hole big enough for Michael to escape." I looked at Michael who seemed to be talking to Adam.

"Look Lucifer, I came here to get only one Archangel from this cage. Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way, the choice is yours. I waved my hand and the spear of Longinus materialized infront of me as Lucifer eyes glowed red.

"I guess we are doing this the hard way, oh well." I opened a hole in the cage and then proceeded to fight Lucifer until Michael could get through the hole.

When Michael was out of the cage, I used the shadows to teleport out of the cage and close the hole as Michael was waiting for me.

"Michael, I don't have much time so listen carefully. Take my spear, and hold out until I return with the Ark. We need to separate the souls if we wish to bring back our brother." I gave him my spear and then pushed him into the rift.

I flew out of hell and went straight to the library of Alexandria, I rushed to my secret vault and looked around before I found it.

There it was, the Ark of the covenant. All of its pieces stored in glass jars, I haven't seen the Ark since its deconstruction after the resurrection.

I placed my hand on the biometric scanner, and took out the glass jars before reconstructing the Ark to its original form.

I could still feel the power that my Father left in the Ark, the symbols that were inscribed glowed faintly as I ran my hand through it.

I snapped my fingers and created another rift to heaven, I could tell that this rift was highly unstable but I hoped for the best as I grabbed the Ark and went through the rift.

Painful and chaotic, those were the only words that could describe riding through the veil. Normally the veil was like a river, it would safely bring you to your desired location.

But with heaven on Lockdown, traveling through the veil was akin to surfing in a typhoon. I needed to concentrate before I was stuck in the veil.

The Ark seemed to be guiding my way, with its help I was able to find the perfect place to break into heaven and enter the Throne room.

Michael was busy fighting off the army o purple blobs that have taken the form of angels, Michael was making quick work out of blobs and destroying anything the abomination threw at him.

I set up the Ark and activated the power within it, I had to cover my eyes due to the intense glow as the cover slid open.

The Ark's glow spread across all of heaven that had been tainted by the purple blobs, the angels and souls that had been absorbed into the abomination's being were sucked into the Ark until it was time to release them.

Michael flew next to me as he wielded my spear with grace, I helped him by destroying the abomination's pawns with holy fire and covering his flank.

"This reminds you of old times, doesn't it? How long has it been since the two of us fought side-by-side against an enemy? Michael seemed to be enjoying himself, I suppose being stuck in the cage makes you crave a new form of enjoyment.

When the Ark finished sucking up all the souls and angels, Raphael's vessel was sitting in Father's Throne as black lines ran across his face.

"Be on your guard Michael, we may have removed the power he gained from heaven's souls, But he still has those pesky Leviathans in his stomach." I rushed at Raphael and threw him off the Throne, before putting him in a headlock as Michael made the rift to purgatory.

"No....this is my power, I was going to have the powers of ...God! Please, let me finish my goal....Sarah." me and Michael used our power to expel the monster souls and Leviathans from Raphael back to purgatory.

"Now, what to do with him? He deserves a punishment for his crimes, But killing our Brother would destabilize heaven even more." Michael looked at me for guidance as he placed a hand on the Ark.

"You've changed, the old you would have tried to kill Raphael when he was supercharged with those souls and then taken back control of heaven when it was finished." I opened the lid of the Ark and watched as my siblings returned back to their rightful posts.

I reopened the Gateways and transported Raphael and Michael to Chuck's house, it was time for father and sons to make ammends.

To say that the family reunion was awkward was an understatement, Michael surprisingly shown some level of rage and anger for being abandoned with the responsibility, Raphael was apologizing for opening purgatory and proclaiming to be God, and Castiel just sat in a chair observing.

Me, Gabriel, and Death made bets on who would swing first if a fight broke out, regrettably after Father explained and apologized for his actions things seemed to calm down.

Now we are preparing dinner, the house is filled with laughter and old stories about our adventures on Earth. Things were looking better, but I had a deep feeling that something big was about to happen.

(??? Pov)

The sounds of leaves being crinkled could be heard as I ran through this thick forest, the sounds of explosions could be heard overhead but I dare not look behind me.

2009, I will never forget that year. The year where everything went wrong, it was unusual weather at first, then came unprovoked wars, Famine, Pestilence, and even death.

Then, the angels came. At first we thought that they came down to help us, but then they started to indiscriminately slaughter people.

They crushed any form of rebellion or disobedience, the U.S military tried to stop the extermination but were immediately eradicated. The angels told us that if we simply obey their orders, then we would not become like the renegades who were tortured and given horrific deaths at the hands of the angels-no the monsters.

I've been apart of the resistance for six months, and I'm tried of this god-forsaken war and watching all of my friends die.

That's why I'm heading to the underground, the resistance once had a doctor who we called the Doctor, he was obsessed with the idea of time travel and alternate universe's.

Many of us believed that he had gone insane, but he promised to prove us wrong by creating a device that could teleport a person to a different world. That was before he was brutally ripped apart and fed to hellhounds, I could still remember the sadistic smile on that dictator bastard Isaiel face.

I had to hurry, the angels would have probably figured out that I had escaped the prison camp by now. I looked down at the map that the doctor gave me before his death to find the secret entrance.

I hurried over to the spot where the entrance was located, the booming sounds of explosions getting closer to my location. I could already see the angels out on patrol searching random parts of the forest.

I quickly open the secret entrance and jumped inside, strange scribbles of symbols were plastered on the walls as this place looked like an old laboratory.

I looked around for the device last and found it, I read the doctor's notes about how this device was just a prototype and how to use it.

Suddenly the lab shook, and I knew that if I stayed here I would be a bloody stain on the walls. I grabbed the device and turned it on, there was now a loud ringing noise and I muttered a prayer to hope that the device worked before there was a huge flash of light.

Apocalypse world Arc!! Comment on what you would like to see and I hope everyone is having a wonderful day/night.
