Chapter 37 - Project Overdrive

After a brief break for some fun games after the Calvary Race it was time for the battles. First up was Izuku versus myself which was an interesting decision. The moment the match started Izuku started to shoot lightning at me as he started to formulate a plan. Giving him a grin I decided to show off a little with my EM Spectrum control. Letting him hit me with the lightning, I absorbed the energy which made him panic.

"Since when can you do that!?", he shouted with a smile.

"You do know that I have to hold back quite often when I fight, right?", I replied with a grin, "I hide a lot of my power, would you like to see?"

"Of course!", Izuku said.

"Alright then.", I replied with a smile.

Using the electric part of the spectrum to fire off my own bolt of lightning the crowd shouted out with excitement. Squealing he dove out of the way to avoid being hit. I really hadn't practiced this aspect of my power yet as only a small number of Superman's had ever explored this power. Having control of the Electromagnetic aspect covered many things that I had yet to really tap into as I knew if I dove too deep I might change into a being made entirely out of energy.

"You can use lightning!?", he gasped, "Why haven't you used it before!?"

"I haven't practiced.", I chuckled, "Sorry about that."

"You scared the crap out of me!", he shouted.

"Haha!", I laughed.

Testing how far he had gotten with his Quirk, I was happy to see he grown quite a lot. Using it to energize equipment like I suggested he was really honing his discharges to maximize efficiency of his power. Once I was happy with seeing how he had grown, I blew him out of the ring with a swing of my arm. Giving him a hand up the two of us shock hands with a grin on our faces.

"Good match!", we said.

Next up was Mina and Toru which was an interesting match. The two of them displayed more martial arts prowess than anything as they fought. Turning her clothing invisible she surprised me as I didn't know she could do it, but she probably hadn't told me to show it off during the festival. Looking around for Toru Mina was confused about how to respond. Toru surprised our whole group as she actually appeared completely without anything being invisible.

"You can make yourself visible?!", Mina shouted.

"Yes I can!", Toru said swinging a leg at her head, "I have been practicing hard to impress all of you!!"

"Hehe so have I!!", Mina said secreting acid from her feet, "Watch me!"

Spitting acid at Toru as she skated around the ring, I noticed that the acid was only damaging the concrete. Somehow Mina was controlling what her acid could melt which was an incredible feat as it meant she didn't need special acid proof gear to fight. Watching the two of them fight I couldn't help, but smile proudly at them.

'You did this all on your own without any help from me.', I thought with a smile, 'Damn you girls are spectacular.'

In the end Mina won due to Toru tripping on the many holes Mina made. One made her fall out of the ring which frustrated her, but she took the loss like a good sport. Both girls retreated the waiting room afterwards where I gave them both a big hug.

"You both surprised me with your new skills!", I said kissing them, "It makes me wonder how I managed to start dating such skillful, hard working women like you."

"Thanks!!", they laughed hugging me back, "We wanted to surprise you with our hard work!!"

Telling them they did, I praised them more for their hard work. Next up was Mineta and Momo which I wasn't happy about. The little pervert was likely going to do something shameful, and I would have to put the screws to him. Once the signal was given the fighting Mineta started flinging his sticky orbs at Momo. Skillfully dodging them, I watched her make two revolvers from her stomach. I was shocked to see small sparks of electricity dance from the revolvers before she fired them.

"Yikes!!", Mineta said as a rubberized bullet with a fine wire mesh on it hit him in the leg, "That hurts!!"

"Yes it does!!", Momo said, "This for all the trouble you cause!"

Unloading the revolvers into him he squealed in pain as he ran around in a panic. Once the revolvers were empty she tossed them to the side. Next thing I saw was her deploy what appeared to be a robotic armor around her arms. The armor morphed into a cannon which she pointed at Mineta.

"I have practiced day in and day out on perfecting everything my boyfriend taught me. He has pushed me hard to get where I am, and you are going to see just how strong I am!", she shouted, "Beam Cannon Fire!!"

Firing what was effectively a Cyborg's arm cannon I grinned as she blasted Mineta out of the ring, and into the wall. I knew Momo had been studying my tech for a while, but I didn't think she had learned it to this extent yet. Seeing her proud smile I felt a sense of achievement that she had reached this level with minimal help from me. Thanking Mineta for the combat experience she left, and came running to see me. Giving her a hug I congratulated her, and complimented her for her dedication to learning about my tech.

Dorothy and Ida were next which was going to be interesting. Ida had her beat in terms of speed so I was curious how Dorothy would overcome this. Dashing at her at the beginning of the fight Ida wanted to end this quickly as he was underestimating her. Smiling at him, Dorothy started levitating off the ground which was strange. She had the ability to speak with dead spirits so I assumed her Quirk had awakened to let her command them directly which was how she was flying. Next thing I knew she was behind Ida, and looked ready to fight him. Turning to face her, something started pumbling the crap out of him.

"What the hell!?", the other girls shouted.

---Teacher Area---

"Wow!!", Nezu laughed, "Those girls are incredibly strong!! Clark has really helped them reach new heights. There is no doubt that they will become powerful Pros when they graduate."

"No, I know for a fact that Clark has only supported them.", All Might said with a big grin on his face, "Those young women have worked their butts off for this, and it's their hard work and dedication that has pushed them to this height."

"I forget that you have been guiding Miss Shield to honing her Quirk.", Nezu said.

"She has the potential to exceed me. This generation of Heroes is the key to a brighter future for all!", he laughed with a proud smile.

---Combat Area---

"Ora!!", Dorothy shouted with a smile as the last blow sent Ida soaring out of the ring.

Mimicking characters from the Jojo series I was bringing to reality here, I couldn't help but laugh. She had really been into the story for a while now reading all the drafts I was doing which was why I assumed she was doing this. Walking off the stage with a cool smile, she ran over to me to give me a hug when she was out of camera sight.

"Did you see me?", she asked, "I can make the spirits do what I want now!! Do you think I be a help to you now when your organization opens?"

"What do you mean?", I replied.

"Well...I worked hard to be of use to you at the agency. Talking to the dead wasn't really going to help you all that much so...so I worked really hard to strengthen my Quirk!", she said with a serious look.

"Dorothy...", I said softly.

"I was afraid I would only hold you back.", she stated.

Pulling her into a hug I gave her a kiss.

"Don't you ever think you are holding me back. I wouldn't be here without all of you.", I chuckled brushing her hair from her face, "You have a good heart, a heart that wants to help people. A heart like that is worth more to people in need than anything else. I have known you for several years now, I know you have what it takes to be an equal member on the team. While I am happy you have improved so much, don't ever think you need to meet some Quirk standard to be on the team."

"I know...", she said kissing me back, "I just wanted to do something by myself to prove it to myself too."

Holding her tightly I praised her for her dedication as Mei and Toga went out next. Their fight started out pretty one sided as Toga watched to see what Mei had up her sleeve. After five minutes though Toga went on the offensive with her much stronger physique. I knew that Quirks were genetic so I assumed that since her Awakened Quirk allowed her to use the Quirks of others she changed into that was the extent of her Quirk. She quickly showed me that I shouldn't hold that expectation for her. Before my eyes, she changed into Melissa and winded up a shot at Mei.

"Oh...", Mei laughed with a cramped look.

"Delaware Smash!!", Toga shouted.

Punching Mei out of the stadium on accident, I flew up to catch her before she left the stadium completely. Handing her to the medical staff I looked at Toga who was back to normal. Running over to me, she leapt into my arms with a beaming smile on her face.

"How...How did you do that?", I asked.

"Hehe, I can use the forms of people I have tasted blood from without using their blood again.", Toga said with a smile, "I can't hold it for long, but I can do it in short bursts!"

"That...that is so cool Himiko!!", I said picking her up with a grin on my face, "That is incredible!!"

"Hehe, I am glad my hard work paid off.", Toga said with a grin.

I hadn't expected her to be able to do that, but it made some sense. The voices of people she had tasted blood from still lingered in her mind, but I never completely understood why. Now it made sense too me, her Transform Quirk kept an imprint of the person and their Quirk in her system allowing her to access them if she felt like it. For the time being she may only be able to force a transformation briefly, but maybe in the future she could access just the Quirks themselves.

The last fight for the first round was Itsuka and Ochaco. Sitting back with the others, the two went at it full of determination. Using her hands like giant fans, Itsuka tried blowing Ochaco out of the ring moving them back and forth in rapid motions. Undeterred Ochaco slowly started approaching Itsuka to try to make her play, but before she did the entire stadium started shaking violently.

"Kelex, what the hell is going on!?", I snapped.

"Sir, I am detecting an earthquake from the area near All For One's base.", Kelex replied.

"Is Section 13 attacking already?", I asked.

"No, they are a few minutes from their start time,", Kelex reported, "Detecting a massive energy spike as well from the facility."

"Shit!", I said contacting Nezu via Telepathy, "We need to evacuate the stadium! All For One is doing something, and it's caused an earthquake."

"Alright, I will-"

"Portal activity detected in the stadium combat area!", Kelex interjected over the PA system.

Rushing outside we found a massive portal of Kurogiri's creation in the arena. Running to my side Nemuri, Ochaco, and Itsuka looked at me for an explanation. Before I could give one though several Armored Nomu walked out of the portal along with several other abominations that were alive.

"What the hell did he do!?", I snapped.

"Clark what's going on?", Rumi asked leaping down to us.

"All For One is launching an attack.", I replied.

"Why here?", Yu asked, "We have hundreds of Heroes here, you'd have to be insane to attack us in this place."

"Or he thinks he can take you all on, and wants to make an example out of us.", I responded.

Stepping out of the portal himself, AFO made his appearance. Deploying the Kal-El Legion and my other robots I had them evacuate the civilians and Eri.

"I don't want to go!", Eri protested as I handed her to Vision.

"Eri, I need you to go back to see Mom and Dad.", I told her, "I promise everything will be okay."

Protesting more she insisted she could help us. Telling Vision to take her away he did so without any issues.

"Listen up", I shouted to the Heroes in the crowd, "My robots are evacuating the civilians, we need to cover them till they are clear. We can't let these things get out of the stadium and out onto the streets!"

On queue the robots started evacuating the civilians freeing the Heroes to fight. Rushing towards the enemies the Heroes thought they were ready to fight.

"Haha, you truly are a Guardian Angel.", AFO laughed, "You and the Symbol of Peace are quite difficult people to combat, but good things come to those who wait. Today I unveil the Nomu Mark 2 and Project Overdrive, now Heroes lets see how long those brave faces hold out!"

Leaping over the walls onto the field All Might shot forward to engage the Nomu. Not far behind him Endeavor and Best Jeanist joined the fight. All Might was intercept by a Nomu Mark 2, and he punched the lights out of that Nomu but it was quickly replaced by one of the abominations. Dodging his next blow, the creature slammed a knee into All Might making him slide away from it. Suddenly a large amount of green light started radiating from the thing.

"Alert, high levels of radiation detected!", Kelex alerted all of us.

"Shit!", I shouted dashing over to All Might.

Pushing him out of the way, I took the gamma blast head on. Absorbing it to stop the Heroes behind me from being exposed, I planted a fist into it's gut feeling its internal organs rupture from the blow. Almost immediately it started regenerating from the damage as the other seven went for me. Tanking several blows from them, instinct told me that they were quite capable of killing most of the people here without any issue just on strength alone.

"We will back you up!", Rumi shouted running towards them with Nemuri and Yu.

"Stay back!!", I shouted, "These aren't Nomu!!"

"If you want to forfeit your lives, be my guest.", AFO said snapping his fingers.

Instantly four of them broke off headed right for them. Throwing the four on me off, I went to give chase but Kurogiri cut me off.

"Not so fast Hero.", he said.

By now the four were fighting the three women and the other Heroes. Smacking Heroes away like flies, Rumi was took a punch and felt a sharp pain as several of her bones broke. Crashing into the wall I heard her cough up blood which infuriated me.

"You want to rough...", I said in a dark tone, "I will give you rough!!!"

Releasing a powerful mental blast it temporarily made Kurogiri lose control of his Quirk. Grabbing his head out of the fog I glared out into eyes.

"You are in my way...", I said before vaporizing his head.

Seeing the portal close behind him AFO didn't seem fazed by this. Watching closely to see how I would react next he stood there in silence.

Looking to my lovers I found them completely overwhelmed by the Nomu Mark 2 and the abominations. Along with the others they were all barely holding their own now. Clearly what ever they learned from Project Genesis had overwhelmingly improved the Nomu.

"Enough of this...", I said telepathically to all present, "I am your opponent now...this is the end of the road for all of you science experiments!!"

Slamming my foot into the ground the entire stadium dropped several dozen feet as the shockwave spread through the city. Shooting off towards one of the abominations fighting Yu and Nemuri, I seized it by the arm and swung the beast into one of it's comrades before letting it go. Sending the beasts flying from the Heroes I said I would handle this.

"Young Clark we can help you.", All Might said.

"Worry about the civilians near AFO's base...", I said glaring at the beasts, "Get everyone you can away before Section 13 attacks, or you will have a lot dead people. I will join you when I finish this. The moment they breach the entrance his pupil with use his Decay Quirk with an amplification device to kill the Section 13 teams and the surrounding people."

"Looks like the surprise has been ruined, looks like I will have to speed that-"

"Who said you were leaving here...", I said appearing in front of him, "You aren't leaving here alive if I can help it."

Pouring out all of my Killing Intent, AFO felt his heart started trying to free itself from his chest. Commanding the Nomu to protect him they weren't nearly fast enough to stop my first blow. The result sonic boom saw AFO blown into the ground. Turning to his creatures I turned my anger towards them.

"Clark, you need to calm down!", Ochaco shouted, "You aren't thinking straight!"

I wasn't even paying attention to what she or anyone else was saying at this point. These things clearly were meant to kill people, and AFO had sent them after my loved ones. If his goal was to enrage me he succeeded so he would endure what came from making me mad. Vanishing from spot, I appeared behind the creatures as they exploded from the consecutive blows I dealt them faster than anyone could react.

"WE NEED TO GO!!", Sonico shouted, "We can't let Section 13 open the bunker!"

"She's right, we need too get them to call off the attack and evacuate the civilians along with his robots.", All Might said.

"I don't like taking orders from a snot nosed kid.", Endeavor grumbled, "But our job is to protect the public first so whatever."

"Let's move.", Native shouted as the Heroes started moving out.

"Clark!!", Momo shouted, "Hurry up and join us!! All of us are going to head over to evacuate the civilians!!"

Watching me blow half of the stadium away with a light swing of my arm, the Heroes continued off to save those they could. Sensing that I was alone now there was no need to worry about my surroundings. Grabbing two of the Nomu I fried two of the Nomu with lightning before turning my attention the others.

"All of you can get the hell out of my sight.", I said as red light began emanating from my body, "SIGNAL FLARE!!"

Releasing my heat vision energy from every inch of my body, the resulting blast fried all of the creatures in an instant. With the power of a small nuke the energy burned everything in the stadium to nothing. Seeing the display from outside the campus the Heroes stared at me in disbelief.

"What the hell was that!?", Endeavor snapped.

"We are just as confused as you!", Rumi retorted, "For now focus on your damn job!"

"Fuck you rabbit!", Endeavor responded, "Just what the hell is that kid!"

"He is Clark!", the women barked.

Looking down at where AFO should have been I found a body double standing in for him. Sighing I looked towards to where the fighting would begin. Asking Kelex to teleport the Heroes to the civilian areas.

"I want all available robots to get the civilians out followed by the Heroes.", I ordered, "After that get Section 13 out of there. After this there is no way Oblivion Group won't make an appearance."

"Where are you headed?", he asked.

"To take care of the weapon myself.", I replied, "The body double he used had enough memories for me to know that the nukes and chemical weapons aren't there. They used the components to make those twisted creatures...they were once people. That bastard doctor put them through hell to make them into those things."

"Could you have saved them?", Kelex asked.

"They suffered through months of agony under his hand.", I replied, "Healing them wouldn't repair that mental damage nor would we be able to repair them. All that exposure to radiation destroyed any DNA they had from their former selves."

"I understand.", Kelex said.

"In the event something happens to my family, evacuate them to the Fortress.", I said, "Wait, send my parents, Alfred, and Eri there now. Have Vision join me in the attack."

"Understood.", he replied.

---Fortress of Solitude---

Arriving in the living quarters of the Fortress, my parents were shocked by the sudden change of scenery. Deploying a housekeeping robot to see to my parents, and Eri, he offered them tea and cookies.

"Where are we?", my mother asked.

"This is Master Clark's private base.", Kelex said, "He requested you be transferred here for your own safety."

"Is everything okay?", my mother asked.

"Master Clark believes that Oblivion Group will make an appearance in an upcoming battle.", Kelex replied.

"WHAT!?", my mother shouted, "You can't let him fight Nova!! Please stop him from doing it!!"

"Ma'am I apologize but I can't stop Master Clark.", Kelex said.

"Get him on the phone right now!!", she snapped, "I won't lose another person I hold dear to me to that monster!!"

---AFO Base---

Arriving just before the assault on the base, Sonico relayed the trap to Hairicín who quickly halted the attack. Calling Nezu to confirm this information he clicked his tongue with annoyance.

"Raise the shields, and prepare to breach!", Hairicín ordered.

"Are you insane!?", Sonico snapped, "I just told you what is behind that door, and you want to breach it!!"

"The information behind that door is far deadlier than the attack they are planning. These shield are designed to negate the effects of most Emission Quirks so we should be safe enough.", Hairicín stated, "You should-"

"What about the public and the Heroes!?", she replied.

"I have my orders, and the Japanese Government was warned about this. If they didn't prepare adequately it's on them.", Hairicín refuted.

"You are insane!", she shouted, "There are thousands of people here, and you are going to-"

"I don't have a damn choice!", he replied as a crackle of lightning hit nearby, "The information they have could make more people like Nova!! We have to retake that no matter what the cost is!!"

"There are women-"

"Get out of my sight girl!", he said hitting her in the face, "I don't have time to deal with your antics anymore. If you continue to interfere I will have you arrested for interfering with government business."

"I hope you rot in hell you damn bastard!!", Sonico screamed, "Their deaths are on your hands Hairicín!!"

Rushing off to warn the Heroes, Hairicín didn't pay her any further attention. Ordering the groups forward Ivan was second guessing this assault given the new information. The shields were designed to negate most Emission Quirks, but that was for containment only. They weren't designed to be used as actual shields so this was like play Russian Roulette with thousands of good people on the line. Not only that, the Quirk user was being boosted by a machine meaning the shield might not hold.

"Sir I think we should hold off till we secure the means to contain any of the effects this weapon has.", Ivan said stepping forward, "We have our best people here. If the shields don't hold we risk losing the majority of our forces in a single blow."

"Future generations may not happen if we let this information stay in their hands much longer.", Hairicín sighed, "We have to go now, or we could lose it all."

Going to complain again, the frontline troops blew the door off it's hinges. As the door came down, the Doctor's Weapon came into view in the form of a giant barrel. Using several shields to engulf the entrance the teams tried to secure their entry against any attacks.

"Haha goodbye Foolish Heroes!!", Shigaraki laughed activating his Quirk.

Firing a cloud of decay from the barrel the attack slipped through every crack in the shields it found. Killing dozens of people in the first few minutes the shields quickly fell as the operators were no longer keeping them active. A literal cloud of death floated down towards the city and Section 13.

---Hero Group A Few Minutes Earlier---

"EVERYONE FALL BACK!!", Sonico shouted, "SECTION 13 IS BREACHING!!"

"What do you mean!?", Nezu replied, "I told them they couldn't-"

"Hairicín wouldn't listen to reason!", Sonico said, "He is going ahead with the attack regardless of the danger!"

"We are only ninety percent evacuated!", Endeavor barked, "Is he a dumbass?!"

At that moment one of the Heroes close by called out to warn about the cloud descending on the city. Watching members of the Section 13 fall apart when the cloud hit them, dozens of Heroes bolted leaving the majority behind. Looking back at them Endeavor called them a bunch of cowardly fools. At that moment I shot across the sky towards the cloud of decay. Landing in front of the cloud I got ready to deal with the problem.

"What's your boyfriend doing!?", Aizawa asked.

Sucking the cloud out of the air the Heroes, Section 13 members, and the villains all stood there in disbelief as I inhaled the entire cloud in a single breath. Evacuating the few Section 13 members closest to the base, I handed them over to the Section 13 medical teams. Increasing the voltage of my lightning I shot it into the base striking the cannon head on. Overloading the electrical components they exploded causing a chain reaction which started the bases destruction. Retrieving the data I was after during the series of explosions I sent it up to Kelex while I vaporized all the backups in a split second.

Bursting out of the base's roof I examined the volcano to ensure that it wouldn't erupt. Fortunately it appeared that it wouldn't go off after that so it was a relief for me. Going to turn back to the Heroes, I saw another portal open, and a group of people stepped I didn't recognize till I saw Blaze.

"Oblivion Groups top brass is here.", I told All Might and Endeavor telepathically, "Get everyone out of the area, and too the Wayne Group Complex. Their Rank 1 member is here, and he uses Supernova's to attack people."

"You are shitting me right!?", Endeavor said.

Watching the oldest man among them form a ball of light in hand I quickly realized there wasn't any time.

"Kelex emergency teleportation protocol!!", I shouted dashing down to intercept the blast.

"Allow me to remind you ants who stands on top here.", Nova said going to snap his finger.

"No you don't!!", I shouted as I slammed my fist into his face.

Taking some distance from them after the attack, several of the members gave chase after me. Firing lightning, poisonous gas, bullets, fire, and compressed air bullets after me I slammed my hands together to knock them out of the way before reengaging the enemy.

"We can't leave the kid to handle all of them!", Ivan snapped, "They are our-"

"Right now we are in no condition to be engaging them. Regroup, and then we can coordinate an attack.", Hairicín stated.

"No!", Charles rebuked, "The kid might not hold out till then, and he just saved our ass from being dust! Their top five are here with their lieutenants, Clark can't hold them off alone. You were all gun ho about pushing our way into the base five minutes ago, but now that you fucked up you want the kid to pay for your stupidity. They warned us, and you ignored them."

"Are you defying orders?", Hairicín asked.

"Yes because your orders are going to get him killed!", Ivan snarled, "I am not about to let a 14 year old die for your fucking mistake after everything he has done for us. Whether you like it or not I am with Charles on this."

"As are we.", Hairicín other staff members said.

Before they could get far though, Nova prepared another shot. Trying to stop him again, Blaze got in my way. Launching a massive fireball at me, I blew it away in time to see Nova snap his finger. The moment following that the world around us all went white as the explosion rocked the area.

"CLARK!!", my girlfriends shouted.

---Fortress of Solitude---

Watching the explosion happen on the monitor my mother fainted into my father's arms. Gripping his shirt she started sobbing as the horrible memories of watching her father's death came flooding back. Holding my mother, father held her tightly as he looked to Eri. Watching the screen diligently waiting for something else to happen my father felt even worse for her given how much she was attached to me.

"Eri...", my father said, "Are you going to be okay?"

"Clark is okay.", she said clutching her Tiger, "He...He won't die...he promised he would come back!!"

"Eri...", he replied.

"He doesn't break his promises!!", Eri shouted, "Clark is okay!! He will come back!!"

"Master Clark is alive.", Kelex reassured them, "A Supernova isn't enough to harm him."

"Say what...", my father said.
