2 Chapter 2: Adoption and the Changed Future

Although Jonathan Kent advised Clark not to reveal his powers even when facing the death of a classmate, it was out of protection for Clark himself.

Without a doubt, Jonathan was a kind person, and so was Martha. Otherwise, Clark, tormented by his own abilities, could not have maintained a kind heart, willing to help classmates who bullied him when they were in danger...

Almost instinctively, Jonathan and Martha were unwilling to leave such a small child in the wilderness, nor did they want the child to be discovered by officials and subjected to endless experiments.

"Variables." The black-haired loli spoke softly after a while, "Jonathan was supposed to have only one child, that is Clark, who would become a god among men. But now, everything has changed! Doctor Manhattan, what do you think?"

"Jonathan's future was destined to end in a tornado, but now, I can't see his future, or rather, I can't see the future of this family at all, which is clearly somewhat wrong!" Doctor Manhattan shook his head, speaking solemnly.

"His arrival is abrupt, his spaceship is not from this universe. Also, some cities in this world are strange, like twins, with identical structures but different names, located close to each other..." Doctor Manhattan's eyes flashed with confusion. From the moment he gained his abilities, the universe should have held no secrets for him, yet he found there were still many things he did not understand.

"Buzz!" As Doctor Manhattan finished speaking, a rule that he could not resist trapped him.

"Congratulations, you've been chosen by the higher-ups for your abilities, promoted to be an Observer. From now on, we are colleagues!" A bald Observer suddenly appeared, cheerily shaking Doctor Manhattan's hand, "Starting today, your job is to observe and record the happenings in this universe from outside the cosmic dimensions, without intervening..."

The bald Observer did not give Doctor Manhattan a chance to speak, glanced at the loli Ancient One with a teasing look, nodded, and disappeared with Doctor Manhattan.

Loli Ancient One's thoughts flickered, and her form disappeared without a trace.

At the Kent home, Jonathan went to town overnight to buy various baby items and fed the baby with formula. After watching the baby fall asleep, the family sighed in relief.

"Let's see what Clark thinks. If it can be removed without harming him... Never mind, let's hide it for now. Clothes can cover it, and we just need to be careful when changing diapers." Jonathan looked at the baby's tail, hesitated to suggest removal, and ultimately shook his head helplessly.
