1 14 Years

My name is Ethan Stringer. I'm 14 years old and I go to National City High School or NCHS for short. My family consists of just me and my mom. Dad died not long after I was born in a car accident.

Mom is all I need though. She's kind, smart, and beautiful, but is likely the most stubborn person I'll ever meet. She is a biomedical engineer and sold a patent to LuthorCorp for 15 million. It was a chip that created and dispersed insulin when needed.

After selling the patent, mom, Isabella Stringer or Bell for short, decided she would retire at the ripe age of 28 so she could raise me. I was only 3 at the time. She is my greatest hero. In my book, she's a bigger hero than Superman. Although she may be retired, she still loves to invent things in our garage. In fact, ever since I've turned 10, she has spent most of her time in there.

I'm in charge of all of the housework, but I've never held it against her. After all, I'm way better than her at it. I still remember the time when she almost burned the house down cooking spaghetti. Spaghetti of all things. The image of her spraying the stove with a fire extinguisher with a terrified look on her face always pops into my mind when she tries to cook.

As I got older, I slowly started doing all the chores and cooking our meals. I never joined any clubs because of my chores, but also, they just never interested me enough to try.

Now, back to the present.

I'm currently laying in a hospital bed at night with my mom sleeping in a chair in the corner. Today had been a normal Saturday. I was doing my Saturday cleaning routine when a blue screen suddenly popped in front of me.

[Unsealing memories (0%)]

Then a massive headache hit me and memories that weren't my own started flooding into my head. My head felt like it was going to explode, but then everything went black and I woke up here, in the hospital.

When I was unconscious I had watched all of the memories like I was in a movie theater and I finally woke up after those blue window in the memories appeared.

It was strange.

That man in the memories looks exactly like me and I could feel all of his emotions throughout his entire life. I had an intense feeling of deja-vu the entire time. And when I saw Kara Danvers (Supergirl), I felt my chest tighten and I could feel the intense love he, no, I, have for her. That was when I realized that we were the same.

He was me and I was him.
