The Stinkin' Turtle Formation

five months after conquering the 30th level of the dungeon; the Grand Rovan Imperial Legion arrived.

The Legion was formed from both the Imperial standing army and the Royal Armies of the 133 Kingdoms ruled be the Rovan Empire.

The Rovan Emperor (Kaizon), Kaizon Phillip Tobus II, made an Imperial edict when he learned of the dangers in Kundao. He ordered the formation of The Grand Rovan Imperial Legion.

The Imperial scholars actually knew more about Rajinn and his terror than those who initially learned of the threat.

The informed the Emperor that if the Rajinn were released from its prison, it would mean the destruction of his Empire.

The Emperor decided to leave the bare minimum military presence on the border and create an even stronger army with the smaller royal armies of the Kingdoms under its rule.

He didn't say it out loud, but this disaster was also an opportunity for the Emperor. There was nothing like a crisis everyone feared to create opportunities to grab more power.

It was clear that even if the threat wasn't true; he could finally do what his father dreamed and make all armies Rovan Armies. There would no longer be the Imperial army and small Royal armies.

There would be one mighty army answerable to the Emperor alone. He hoped the RaJinn threat wasn't real, but he wouldn't take any chances and he definitely wouldn't miss any opportunities.

The Kundao Kingdom was shocked when it learned of Baron Kingsley's betrayal and fanaticism. They added their forces to the Grand Army and donated many resources.

He knew that the Emperor would look to him for an explanation of how such a cult was allowed to grow in his Kingdom. This could be a threat to Kundao sovereignty if not handled properly.

He knew the Rovan Emperor was greedy, so he could only do his best to make corrections and protect his Kingdom's interests.

The dungeon was located in the County of Turkent. Once the army arrived they surrounded the dungeon, but they learned they were not able to approach with int 1,000 miles of the dungeon.

An invisible barrier surrounded the dungeon and kept the army away from it. The army attempted to destroy the barrier by uniting its strength and attacking it.

The attacks didn't even cause a ripple in the energy field. Even the most powerful Spirit Men were unable to bypass the barrier.

"If G-Hawk were here; I'm sure he could get past the barrier," Sif muttered. Kantor heard her muttering and was surprised.

"This is your love, G-Hawk, is he a powerful Spirit Man that he can get through such a powerful barrier?" Kantor asked her.

"He's not a Spirit Man, but he is a formations expert and his teacher is the most powerful formation expert on our world. We aren't facing a Spirit barrier but a Formation.

"How do you know it's a formation and not a spirit barrier?" Kantor asked.

"I can tell based on your explanation of how spirit barriers work and how formations work. I can also see formation flags within the barrier," Siff pointed to a formation flag.

"What does that flag have to do with the barrier?" Kantor asked.

"Without the flag, the barrier would grow very weak in that area and we could probably pass through," she told Kantor. Kantor was very surprised by this information.

If it was just removing a flag, even one in the barrier wasn't this an easy problem to solve? He walked near the flag and tried to use an earth element spirit spell to move the flag.

Nothing happened which surprised Kantor.

"Why doesn't my spirit magic work?" He asked to no one out loud. Sif heard him as the question and walked over to him.

"I'm afraid formations aren't that simple. G-Hawk explained to me that formations are made up of arrays. These arrays can be complex or simple.

The most potent arrays are often the simplest ones. The flags act as both a mortar for the arrays and a marker for its boundaries.

If G-Hawk were here or another formation master was here they could devise a method to disrupt and or disturb the arrays so the flag can be removed," Sif said.

"How would he know how to disrupt the array?" Kantor continued asking questions to better understand the situation.

"I don't know, maybe he knows the arrays you would need make a disruption. He's the array master, not me," Sif said simply.

"It's too bad he didn't give you a means for dealing with these arrays," Kantor grumbled.

"He did, it's just that this thing is so complex I'm not sure what to do," Sif said.

"What do you mean? What did he give you?" Kantor asked out of surprise and interest.

"Oh, he gave me this Array Viewer," Sif said. She held up a monocle with a gold rim. Kantor took it and looked at the formation through the device. He was shocked!

There was a great deal of information written in the visitor language. "The Stinkin' Turtle Formation?" He was confused.

"That's a strange name for a formation? It's a little underwhelming," Kantor said.

Sif couldn't help but laugh when she heard his comment. A warm blush arose on her cheeks. Kantor found the look very beautiful.

"That's just G-Hawk. If he doesn't like a formation or finds it annoying he'll give it a name like that.

His teacher is always getting onto him for making up such weird names for things," she continued to laugh gently.

Kantor couldn't help but laugh himself after hearing Sif's explanation. He looked through the monocle once more and studied it.

Some of the diagrams reminded him of some Spirit Man Barrier techniques. After making this connection he excitedly ran to gather the other Spirit Men.

Rollins saw everything and came over.

"What was that about?" Rollins asked.

"He was asking me a bunch of questions about formations and I showed him G-Hawk's monocle. Then he ran off excited. I guess he figured something out," she said.

"G-Hawk, he's not even here and he's helping us out," Rollins laughed when he thought about his strange friend.

Sif smiled warmly and hoped G-Hawk was doing well. She also hoped Kantor could use his monocle to get through the barrier. Otherwise, who knew if they would survive this disaster.
