SUPERHERO GETS A GRANDPA SYSTEM

It's not so easy to make it as a superhero these days. In the golden age of heroes, it didn't matter what kind of ability you had. If you had an ability, dressed up in bright colors, and came up with a crazy name; you had it made. You were a hero. The world isn't so simple anymore. Kyle Kane is finding life as a teenage superhero to be worse than a pimple on prom night. Eliminated from his team and forced into normal classes, Kyle's F class powers have doomed him to harassment and mediocrity. Then one day, he gets a cranky message from a system. "I'm your system, congratulations, blah blah blah." Is this Kyle's chance or just another new way to be humiliated?

Don't be Blue

Over the next few weeks, Kyle slowly pieced together the language. He continued to take his daily medicine which never seemed to run out. It was always in his inventory.

He also maintained his workout program. All of his clothes contained power restriction formations. The difference was now he could turn them off when he needed to.

When he had the restrictions on; his strength was reduced to a level 12 fighter.

He picked up the language very quickly. In a little over a month, he was fluent in Mezon, the common language.

He fashioned some additional clothes after understanding the social categories. It was important to be free to move around without drawing the wrong kind of interest from others.

He decided to disguise himself as a young martial practitioner with some expertise in making basic spirit artifacts.

With his restrictions active, the disguise was pretty accurate. This was a small town and he didn't think anyone would know any better no matter what he said. It was better to be safer than sorry.

Today, he would enter the town which was called "Malltown" after the founder of the town. Captain Gurd Mall was a retired soldier of the Kundao Kingdom.

As a display of appreciation for his years of service; Gurd was given a parcel of land and allowed to create a town there. He was the first Big man for the Town. Most people called him either Captain or Chief.

Gurd passed away a little over one hundred years ago. The family head of descendants would choose the town Chief.

To make his disguise more convincing; Kyle chose to tint his skin yellow with orange hair. This was all done through a special array he built into his clothes.

By the town's standards, he was a handsome young man. Finally prepared, he walked out of the woods and up to the main entrance.

He went to the gate guard, "Excuse me, sir, is this Malltown?" Kyle asked and pretended to not know.

"Yes, it's three copper pintz to enter. Kyle fished out three copper pintz from a money bag he created.

He already paid a visit to the temple and make an after-hours exchange of some gold for silver and copper pintzes (the regional currency).

He didn't exchange too man, just enough to be able to have a little money when he entered the town. If people knew he had gold coins, he worried he might draw too much attention.

Kyle asked for directions to the Inn and went there immediately to check-in. Wearing traditional student martial clothes; he was given a lot of respect.

When he arrived he asked for bathing services. A maid brought hot water up to his room where a tub that he could barely fit in was set up.

He enjoyed the feeling of finally having a bath. So far he had been in this place for about a month and a half.

He had no idea how he was going to return to Miras. He couldn't return directly to Earth from here. He already tried. He also couldn't figure out what happened to Sif and Rollins.

For now, he needed to settle into this town while he decided on his next move. Kyle ordered some food from the tavern and had it delivered.

Soon after he finished eating he fell asleep and slept all night until almost 10 am the next morning. He focused on doing some isometric exercises and cultivated.

A little afternoon, he headed out to look at the town during the daytime. He walked over to his second home in this town, the tavern.

He sat at a table and ordered some food and a beer. In this world, a fifteen-year-old-boy having a beer was normal. Being fifteen and on his own was also pretty typical.

Kyle's martial clothes were a simple blue top and purple pants with wooden pattens. He made his own in the forest. He set up some formations in the wood to keep them clean.

He added other features, but those things weren't important for now. When the tavern manager asked for his name, he introduced himself as Calver Hotun.

After lunch, he went to the local Glow Temple. Glow was a local deity worshipped by several towns and villages. It was some kind of god of light.

He didn't care about what the religion believed in; he was interested in a lot of the services he could purchase.

He went and bought a map and asked for some information about the nearest city, Figg City. Finally, he went to the general store and bought some traveling supplies.

If he wanted to get out of this place he probably needed to get to a city to find opportunities and information.

Kyle walked out of the store and was looking at his purchases when we felt someone in his way. He looked up and it was a group of large blue-skinned boys.

Blue-skins, he discovered that skin color didn't have much to do with race, ethnicity, or some kind of caste system. You never knew what color your kid's color would be.

Both parents might be yellow, but then they could have a blue-skinned baby.

"Do you need anything?" Kyle asked. Politeness wasn't a thing in this world. Being blunt was considered proper etiquette.

"We need you to come with us," the biggest blue boy said. He was more than six feet tall.

"Why?"

"Do you need to ask, I said come with me, so come with me," The big kid said.

"No," Kyle walked around the three boys and continued to walk toward the Inn. The blue boys were irritated by being ignored and got in front of him again.

"I said, you need to come with us, it isn't an option." The biggest one said.

"What would happen if I killed you?" Kyle asked. The best way to understand a situation sometimes was to suddenly escalate things to a point most people didn't want to go to.

The boys were stunned, but the biggest of the three got angry and took a swipe at Kyle who dodged the attack and knocked the big kid out with one light tap.

"Take your friend and go trouble, someone you can handle," Kyle said.

"I can handle you," a voice from a nearby alley said.
