The halls

But he was beat to it by Edward wishpering, "don't tell anybody but it's a sacred beast soul."

Ren narrowing his eyes and suspicion, Edward just smirked, "you think the halls are so poor." He walked away.

Sighing, Ren could actually sense that the man wasn't lying through a geno art.

Normally he wouldn't be able to sense these things from older people. Especially strong people from the sanctuary's, and although not knowing his strength, Ren could tell he wasn't weak, and assumed Edward had a geno art that allowed him to covey his intentions to others.

So he took his word for it and made his way toward the other kids he noticed a board with names on it, in a tournament fashion. Understanding that's how he'd sign up he wrote his name down before finding a seat in the most isolated area the ring of the area had next to some quiet girl.

Tuning his serounding out he opened his holographic watch and read through some research articles on geno arts inspired by bug type creatures.

"Suzyu Ren!"

Hearing his name from a kid in the middle of the arena, he realized it was his turn to fight.

Pushing himself off the arenas shallow walls, he made his way in front of the boy near his age with blonde hair and green eyes suited in a tight combat uniform. While he still dawnd his dress clothes, dark pants and polo all under a long jacket.

He didn't mind but he stuck out like a sofa thumb, being the only one not wearing a combat uniform, earning some odd looks.

Not speaking he just waited for the teenage girl acting as the referee to allow the spar to commence.

The girl glancing at the blonde boy receiving a nod of affirmation, looking to Ren who also nodded. Then nodding to her self she raised her arm and spoke in a slightly raised voice while lowering her hand in unison. "Begin!"

The blonde boy didn't hesitate to rush Ren, while Ren just stood their for a moment. Once the boy got close enough, he redirected his attacks while using a movement technique to dodge successfully sending the boy flying using his own momentum against him.

The boy getting back up this time enraged, charged again earning the same result this time falling on his face. Ren looked bored preforming the same thing a few times more before the referee girl intervened.

"Winner, Suzyu Ren!" She stated.

Beginning to walk back to the most isolated area again. The blonde boy stood up and yelled in rage."Suzyu I won't forget this!" Blah, blah.

Ren quickly ignored the kids childish dialogue and got back to reading. He faught a few more times all with similar outcomes though most could recover enough to catch themselves from tumbling on the ground but still eventually either got worn out or never could touch him without being thrown, ignoring all the other fights.

He didn't relize nor care about the reputation he was earning himself in the circle of the saint and martial hall kids.

Little did he know the quiet girl next to him was watching his every move without blinking with great interest.

Huangfu Jing, this little girl. Daughter of a powerful family within the martial hall allowed her to ignore the elementary, intermediate and advanced class directly granted special class within the martial hall as her birthright just like many other rich kids.

Usually all these kids despite their potential would reach a high level due to their family's backing. Huangfu Jing though was quickly scouted by the martial hall master as a direct disciple and promised the opportunity to learn the alliance's greatest movement technique and one of the few complete qigongs with ten geno locks known to man.

With this reputation she also didn't have much of a struggle winning her spars at this little event but her performance wasn't as dominating as Rens hence her interest.

While it wasn't that Ren was all powerful and super strong compared to the kids. He merely had the foresight of the combined experience of 30 years.

It was an advantage that no ten year old could overcome. Even if he didn't have this foresight and needed to rely on strength. He could activate the Hershey mantra. A geno art Ren had reached the second level in.

While studying geno arts he realized that the Hershey mantra was very diverse and could be practiced at any stage of strength, after all it was a technique developed and used before the sanctuary's existed.

Using the highest level of nutrition fluids for him were equivalent to the nutrition in a sacred blood creature for a sanctuary enhanced individual.

Sacred blood meat was a lot harder to obtain than the unlimited supply of the nutrition fluids he had. So Ren spent extra time working on the Hershey mantra to more effectively prepare for the future.

After all the Hershey mantra was basically necessary to challenge super creatures, at least alone.

The next few fights his opponents finally decided not to initiate the fight. At first Ren just waited them out, the kids weren't very patient so they'd attack not long after.

But now nobody attacked him first, so he had to initiate the fight, quickly taking control and pinning the opponent on the ground.

For the final fight he was against the quiet girl, not finding any significance until he realized this girl was a bit of an outlier compared to the rest of the kids, able to resist his assaults to a decent degree.

Quickly ignoring it after winning the match, not realizing the tournament was over. The referee girl summoned a small cat out of nowhere. Introducing it as a sacred blood pet type beast soul from the first sanctuary.

The kids crowded around and played with the cat with interest knowing it's status.

Realizing that despite the cat was indeed a sacred blood beast soul, the halls still cheaped out choosing a pet variant.

Though Ren didn't care, knowing the potential of a sacred blood beast soul pet could transform into a super beast soul in combat form.

After sometime the event seemed to be closing. His dad came to find him and picked him up. Hearing the news of his son wining the tournament and earning the beast soul.

Since Ren couldn't actually hold a beast soul till he was sixteen his dad took it, with hidden pride they walked back to their apartment for the night.

Placing the briefcase on the table of the room that he had to lug around all day. Ren asked, "dad what are the briefcases for?"

His father showing a longing expression, smiled warmly. "Why don't you open yours, hmm?"

Not really understanding nor caring, Ren did as he was told.
