Soul

Most of that day she was lost in her thoughts about the previous night.

That day she again convinced Ren to join her in her tent. This time it was much more social. Huangfu Jing revealing much of her feelings.

While Ren never really had much feeling for her, though forfeiting the she was very beautiful and talented.

It made him think. In the original story Huangfu Jing

never had a partner in climbing the ranks of the sanctuary and universe let alone a romantic partner.

Contemplating the feasibility of starting such a relationship and the implications it could have with his progress, he decided to let nature take its course and maybe step in if he didn't like its direction.

Right now after fixing his qigong, all Ren wanted to do was hunt super creatures. With six months till military academy begun for him, that's all the time he had for now.

Remembering the Jade Dragon Mountains from the original story it was one of the few hot spots noted that were infested with sacred-blood creatures and held the highest chance of finding super creatures.

Though there was still a week before this little expedition ended.

This week they were lucky to find two sacred-blood creatures that Huangfu Jing single handedly dealt with.

It seemed she wanted to do all the work so the report back to her master would reveal she was capable enough of handling herself in the sanctuary.

Everyday they hung out with each other sleeping together though with no funny business other than cuddling and flirting. Ren eventually gave up his resistance in joining her to bed, taking everything in stride.

Getting back to the alliance they continued to speak for the following week online. Exchanging battlenet information they passed the time away sparing.

Eventually Huangfu Jing had a formal meeting with her master and a few elders of the martial hall.

One of the elders spoke with a please expression. "Huangfu Jing your evaluation of the recent adventure was impeccable."

Another added. "Yes, no doubt the most talented disciple of Heavenly Go."

A few more remarks spoke of her most recent expedition, till her master spoke. "Yes, like you already know you are more than capable of handling yourself in the sanctuary's."

Pausing in suspense her master continued. "But there are a few things we must talk about."

Another elder much older than the rest, one who held their tongue till now spoke up. "The Heavenly Go, as great as its prowess it is incomplete."

Confused about the abrupt declaration Huangfu Jing, let her thoughts run rampant. An incomplete qigong meant it most likely lacked a geno lock.

If that was true then the qigong was nothing special and would ultimately limit somebody's potential in the long run.

Such a thing could be crippling past a certain point of practice. But she was more concerned about being lied to her whole life.

Noticing Huangfu Jing expression and elder spoke up. "It's not all for naught young one. The Heavenly Go that you practice has all ten of its geno locks."

"Yes, though it is still incomplete." Another elder continued.

The previous elder who hardly spoke and looked a little older than the rest resumed. "The Chen family holds the last little part of the qigong in the form of the seven twists."

Seeing her frown, the master spoke up with a sly grin. "Well… that was till a few years ago. After a lot of research over the years our best have come to complete the qigong." Pulling out another script and placing it to the side, her master got serious all of the sudden.

"First though we must talk about this boy you've been seeing." She poke with piercing eyes.

Huangfu Jing quickly tried to dismiss the situation. "He's just a friend!"

"Ho! you call sleeping with a boy, 'just a friend?' Since when have you become so skanky, hmmm?" Her master fought back, making her disciple lower her head in shame.

"No I-I—" taking a second to find confidence she boldly stated, "he's my boyfriend."

Causing a wave of murmurs to ripple among the elders.

Sighing her master knew this was gonna be difficult, tried being gentle because of potential sensitive emotions. "Huangfu Jing you can have a boyfriend, but will he hold you back? Can he compete with the potential of a direct disciple of a martial hall member let alone a disciple of somebody whose passing down one of the alliances 5 qigongs with 10 geno locks."

Not really thinking all of this through just knowing he was strong. But even if he was strong now, what about the future with her having a top-tier qigong, how could he compete in the future.

Feeling a little downtrodden, they were still friends and didn't want to lose hope. "I understand, but can I atleast adventure with him till I max out on geno points?"

Her master glancing at the elders beside her, she spoke. "How many more sacred-blood geno points do you need?"

"21" she responded.

Earning a nod in response. "We know of the boy's talent. If he's able to get his hands on a top-tier qigong you'd have our support."

Bowing and about to leave her master reminded her. "Take a break from the sanctuary's, you'll be practicing the completed version of Heavenly Go till you're proficient."

Making her way to her room, Huangfu Jing couldn't stop thinking about Ren, sending a message.

While Ren didn't enter the alliance, not having a mount he raced off in the distance toward the Jade Dragon mountain. Not seeing or responding to Huangfu Jings messages.

He spent a month scouting the mountain range, ignoring all sacred-blood creatures and below, noting a few locations of potential super creatures.

He didn't plan on fighting any of them, desiring to take his time getting familiar with his qigong before risking anything.

Finally arriving back home in the alliance, he greeted his dad. A letter was placed on his desk. Opening the letter, he found that he was accepted to the central alliance military academy.

Smirking slightly he opened the skynet, noticing a hundred or so desperate text messages from Huangfu Jing and missed calls.

Ren: hello, sorry for missing your messages I just got back to the alliance.

Huangfu Jing: what?! You stayed in the sanctuary? Why didn't you tell me?

Ren: uhh… sorry? I was just exploring a little bit more before taking a break.

Huangfu Jing: sigh. I still need 21 sacred-blood geno points can you join me in a week?

Ren: a week? That should be fine. Just let me know.

About to close the skynet to further cultivate his qigong.

Huangfu Jing: and get on the battlenet right now!! I need to beat you!

Sighing without responding he logged on, getting an invite from her. He tried to cultivate while doing so.

To his surprise he could, though the efficiency was majorly suppressed.

Testing something, the battle net required mental energy. So cultivating again this time cycling energy from his body and soul ignoring the mental energy medium. His cultivation resumed its normal efficiency albeit without the cycle of his mental energy, things weren't as effective.

Summoned in the arena, Huangfu Jing began charging him with a battle cry.

*ARRRHHH!!!*

Exchanging blows, Ren immediately noticed a huge improvement in Huangfu Jing technique giving him a run for his money.

He studied the technique while using his insights from the Dongxuan sultra and experience from previous geno arts he had learned and tweaked to improvement.

Though Huangfu Jing proved her skill, simultaneously starting a conversation in battle. "What type of qigong do you plan on practicing?"

"Huh what's with that question? I have my own little thing." Already knowing that she had a top-tier qigong.

"You know, I might be able to help you get a good qigong." She Idly mentioned.

Scoffing slightly in a joking manner. "Thanks for the offer, princess but I'm more than fine."

Hmphing, she got more aggressive with her attacks.

She really liked Ren and didn't want to be separated from him. Think back to the other day at her private conversation with her master.

"Huangfu Jing in addition to your current training I have a secret of my own." Her master spoke revealing a scroll.
