Tragedy and entering the sanctuary

In the meantime a tragedy happened in our family and my father died in a suspicious accident, the whole family was devastated my sister was still little and we were still studying, my mother had to turn around to support us she was in fact a warrior woman, after our father's death my brother and I was a little apart, each had their own way of dealing with the loss.

After that day things changed a lot, especially in my uncles' family, they sold the small family business which my father took over and divided the money between them leaving us with nothing, my mother had to go more and more to the sanctuary while we were taking care of my sister.

Time passed and the day finally arrived when we would enter the sanctuary, and my brother was very excited wanting to see what it was like inside, we were hoping that by some miracle he would be teleported to the same shelter, but the possibility was almost impossible.

At the teleport station on the planet Rocca, my brother and I were, ready to go through the teleport for the first time and start making our way towards the top.

"Sen, how are you?" Han Long saw that my brother was nervous and couldn't help asking.

"Yes brother Long, just a little nervous after all it's our first time and we look forward to it after all this is where our path to change our lives will begin and give the best to our mother and our little sister. Hopefully, we'll be teleported to the same shelter so it'll be easy if we hunt together, me in ranged fighting covering you and you in melee." Han Sen spoke with a face full of hope that this would happen.

"Don't worry even if we don't teleport in the same shelter, we are strong and we'll make it through this barrier, don't forget that Mom and Yan-er are waiting for us to get strong to improve our lives." Han Long said trying to encourage his younger brother so he wouldn't worry if they didn't go to the same shelter.

"Brother you're right to come on, no more wasting time, good luck brother." Han Sen said with his fists clenched in determination.

Full of determination Han Sen entered the teleport first, I was supposed to tell him to wait for me at the entrance.

Without wasting any more time I entered the platform and closed my eyes, finally when I opened them again I was inside a room and to my disappointment I had no system maybe I should forget once I had another life and focus on this one, not wanting to lose anymore While I took a quick look around there wasn't much inside just a bed, a place to store things, there was even a stove to prepare the beasts that are hunted in the sanctuary, after taking another look around the room I decided to go out and see what it was like inside the sanctuary.

When I left the room I saw that there were many people walking around and talking, things didn't look much different from the wedding ring, apart from the fact that many of them were carrying weapons of various types, I walked to the entrance gate I looked around, but I didn't find Han Sen well there was nothing to do it was very difficult for us to end up in the same shelter.

Not wanting to waste time I asked around where the weaker common beasts were and I was told that if I walked for half an hour west of the shelter I would find a forest with huge trees and there were many common beasts like the TERRIBLE RAT, which was the most seen this spot was the size of a cat, and they lived underground and went out at night to hunt, but because the woods here were so thick that there was little sunlight they were commonly seen.

When I arrived in the forest I thought it would be easy to hunt these atrocious rats but it wasn't quite like that, maybe if it was just one it would be easy, the problem was that they walked in a pack when I was seen by them I tried to attack what was closest and in this meanwhile, the others approached me and started biting me seeing that I couldn't handle so many of them, I started to retreat while looking for an escape opportunity, when I managed to get rid of them I ran with everything I had without caring about the direction.

After a while being chased I was already exhausted, the rats continued to attack me whenever I gave a break, when I saw that I was already covered in bites and some of them even deep I almost panicked, but if I stop now it will be the end of me certainly with no alternatives I started screaming for help.

"Relief!!! Relief!!! Someone help me"

Han Long yelled as hard as he could, his voice propagated far away, but it was like he was alone in this forest and no one answered him.

change of pov

My name is Chen Ley, I'm like the leader of our group, today we decided to hunt some common dire rats in the forest, and the hunt was really good we were getting ready to return to the shelter when we heard someone screaming for help he sounded really desperate, looking at the faces of my group members I knew they were waiting for me to say something.

"Looks like someone is asking for help, come on, maybe we'll have some windfall"

Without wasting much time we ran in the direction where the screams were coming from and as we got closer we saw someone running towards us.

"Help...please help me"

The guy yelled louder when he saw us approaching him without wasting any time we entered a battle formation and when he reached us we left him in the center to catch our breath while the rest of us attacked the ferocious rats chasing him.

Although these beasts are not very strong they make up for it with numbers this is the biggest danger to face them after a long time fighting I looked at my teammates and saw that they were already very tired. Luckily we've already dealt with most of them and there weren't many. I saw that the guy regained his breath and despite his injuries started attacking too, I realized that he was really good in combat and managed to adapt quickly with our attack strategy, maybe he was only in danger because he was abandoned by his teammates this happens a lot for that and it's very difficult to trust anyone here at the shelter.

Finally, we killed all the ferocious rats, looking around you could see many corpses must be at least 30.

Change of Pov Han Long

After running for a while being chased I found a group of people and luckily they seemed to be good people and they came to help me.

When I reached them they made a circle around me and left me in the center when the atrocious rats attacked I could see that they didn't feel much pressure, I think they're used to dealing with this kind of beast, but after a while, they started to get tired and things could get dangerous, as I had regained my breath I joined them in the attack, it took me a while to get used to the way they fought, I could feel that there was a synergy that was hard to believe it was like if each knew what the other would do and if it went wrong someone would always be there to make up for the mistake but those were minimal.

After killing all the atrocious rats we were all exhausted and we sat on the floor to rest and catch our breath one of them approached me and spoke.

"Hard day in a friend, my name is Chen Ley nice to meet you," said Chen Ley extending his hand to me, this guy seemed to be the leader of the team.

"The pleasure is all mine, my name Han Long, thank you for saving me I thought I would die in the mouth of these atrocious rats and think that a simple common beast would be so dangerous," said Han Long as he reached out and greeted still a little scared for escaping death.

"What were you doing around here alone, this forest is very dangerous without a group"

Hearing Chen Ley asking him that, can't help but be angry

"Don't even tell me I just arrived at the shelter, and when I asked for information on where there was a weak beast to hunt I was told to come here."

"I don't know if I can say that they lied since the atrocious rats are in fact very weak the problem is that they walk in a pack and the result of meeting with them you've already seen"

Hearing him say the dire rats were weak Han Long couldn't help but agree to kill them was in fact very easy.

"Yes they are weak, but their numbers make up for it, I don't even know how to thank them if it wasn't for you I would have died" Just thinking about dying Han Long felt his whole body shiver.

"I'm not going to say much about thanks, but I see you're not a weak person considering you've just entered the shelter, how would you like to join our hunting party?"

Hearing him make such a proposal or other of his companions looked a little at me as if investigating me.

"I would love to at least so the danger will be less as long as you don't mind, I promise I'll give it my all", said Han Long looking at the other members of the group that saved him.

"That's fine with me, now we'll have someone else for melee combat," said a bulky guy, he was easily 1 meter and 90 cm.

After he spoke the other guy who was almost the same height as he said "Since my brother agreed I have nothing against." He said extending his hand to me "nice to meet you my name is Wei Qi and this big guy is my brother Wei Qiang we will count on you from now on"

Hearing that they were brothers I couldn't help but think about Han Sen how is he now I hope he wasn't like me.

Then it was time for the girls to introduce themselves, one was called Mei Ling and the other was Hua Ting, they just agreed.

"Since everyone agrees I'll explain how our group works, I'm group leader and I'm responsible for dealing damage with Hua Ting, these two brutes get the defense, as for Mei Ling, she's our archer and strategist. About the division of hunting, we always divide equally, how much the beast's soul stays with whoever takes the last blow if you're lucky enough to get one"

Listening to Chen Ley talk about the division of prey that we hunt I thought it was very fair and I had nothing to complain about I'm sure it would be much better to be with them than alone.

"It's fine by me"

"Excellent! We're done here for today, it's getting dark and you don't want to stay in this forest at night go for me, let's go back to the shelter, you can take your share too now that you're part of our group, we won't treat you badly"

Seeing that I could have some dire rats I couldn't help but be happy this would be my first feast here at the shelter and consequently, I would earn my first common gene points.
