28 Talk with Chiyo

After reading that message, another pop up appeared in front of Hitori.

[Next message is locked for now as host has not reached sufficient requirements. Would you like to leave the area?]

Hitori's was slightly confused by the pop up but his first immediate thought was to leave but the moment that he was about to leave, his brain was finally able to digest the last notification that he had seen before he lost consciousness, he had regained his memory of anime, mangas, and novels.

'Whoa! I'm really in the world of Naruto!' he shouted mentally with excitement and absolute glee and he began to replay what had happened since he had his memories locked by the system while making an important decision, 'Never... Ever make fun of the system again.'

Hitori then began to think on his life and wanted to see if he could possibly plan ahead.

'So I really landed in Suna...' thought Hitori, 'This village has such little information and to make matters worse, its probably the weakest village out of all the villages out there currently. No wait, on second thought. It's the second weakest, Kirigakure is going to be the weakest soon...'

Hitori then replayed what he had done with his life in this world so far and he was slightly shocked because many of the events in his life had not gone like the actual naruto timeline. This made him slightly fearful as he realised that future events might not follow the anime plot. However, something else appeared in his mind as he realised that about everything that he had changed in the naruto timeline, he regretted none of it. He took a deep breath of resolution as he decided, 'I will keep living like I am now. I have a loving grandmother and some nice friends. Althought this village is a bit problematic, I'm happy as long as the people important to me are okay.'

Hitori confidently smiled as he clicked the yes button and the instant that he did so, his consciousness slowly drifted into darkness again but after a few seconds, he began to feel himself regain control of his body.

Back in the room, Chiyo had her eyes close as she rested on her rocking chair right next to Hitori, relaxing next to Hitori as she enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. But her attention was piqued when she heard some movement from Hitori's bed and she immediately opened her eyes to see Hitori staring at her with his bright but slightly tired eyes and the biggest smile that he could currently muster up.

"Hi granny..." Hitori spoke out with a smile.

"Hi," Chiyo greeted back as a smile appeared on her face as she looked up, "How are you feeling Hitori?"

"I'm feeling great. Just a little tired," Hitori replied with a sheepish smile as a short silence followed.

"Um... Granny," Hitori called out as he looked out the window and stared out at the sky, "I'm sorry about before... There was no reason for me to be angry at you."

Hearing this, a small trace of a smile appeared on Chiyo's face as she also joined him in staring at the clouds, "No, Hitori. It should be me that is apologising for not handling the situation properly. I know how much you cared about your aunty..."

Hitori did not reply but instead a calm expression appeared on his face as he kept his gaze on the peaceful sky and asked, "How is Gaara doing?"

"He's being taken care of by your aunt Karura's little brother, Yashamaru. He's doing very well right now. His body is healthy but he's crying a lot," Chiyo replied with a hint of worry.

"I see..." Hitori replied with a smile as he spoke, "I think I'll go and visit him later..."

He then turned to Chiyo and asked, "Granny, when will I be okay to leave?"

"I think you will be able to leave after today," Chiyo replied almost immediately. She then took a deep breath as she began speaking, "Gaara's birth was heavily influenced by the situation in the village. After the end of the Third Shinobi war, all villages suffered but our village was probably one of the worst hit villages as even since the beginning, we were incredibly poor. The situation for the village got even worse once your unle Third disappeared. We got even lesser and lesser requests for mission. Once your uncle Rasa took over, the village situation was not looking good at all. We did not have enough ninjas and our mission success rate was at an all time low. Pressured by the elders, your uncle Rasa decided to make Gaara who was still in Karura to be the jinchuriki of the village."

Hearing Chiyo, Hitori's face changed to a very disappointed one as he sighed and turn to Chiyo and spoke, "Granny, I don't like the village. You already know that. I can understand that uncle Rasa has responsibilities But why is he willing to sacrifice so much for the village to the point where he would give up his wife's life?"

Chiyo's face turned ugly, "A kage's duty is to take care of the village. He cannot just do anything he wants for personal gains. But I can tell you that Karura's death was not planned and Rasa really loved her."

Hitori seemed slightly disappointed by the answer. He looked out the window and asked, "I'm sure that Uncle Third had the same weight on his shoulders. Yet, he still made time for me and everyone in the village, it made me feel cared for and I actually enjoyed living in the village at that time. Uncle Rasa does not give me the same feeling. Ever since he took hold, the nobles and the clan children had been more arrogant and unfair. I don't think he is doing a very good job."

Chiyo seemed to be slightly in agreement with him as she spoke, "That was because the Third was the strongest Shinobi in Suna's history. If there was anyone else other than your uncle Rasa as kazekage, I'm sure that the village's situation would be a lot worse."

Hitori smiled as he laughed, "Hehe, maybe. I think that without power, a kage is no different that a tiger that is used as a mount. This village's situation is truly bad..."

Chiyo did not reply as she knew that Hitori already knew her answer. Another silence set in...

"I've been keeping a lot of secrets from you, Granny. I'm sorry," Hitori suddenly spoke and he looked straight at her and activated his right eye which turned his iris into a glowing green colour.

Chiyo was startled as she unknowingly leaned back but seeing that Hitori only wanted to show it to her, she calmed down and began to observe it.

"This is my dojutsu. It's called Sonzaigan. I unlocked it four years ago," he began.

"Sonzaigan... Eye of existence?" Chiyo subconsciously mumbled.

"Yup. At stage one, it enables me to observe the chakra systems of someone as long as I focus onto them," answered Hitori.

"Stage one? Your eye has more than one stage?" Chiyo asked with bewilderment as she only knew about one dojutsu that also had stages and that was the Sharingan of the Uchiha clan.

She was answered by a firm nod from Hitori whose right eye suddenly changed again. While the green iris stayed the same colour, the black from his pupil seemed to seperate as a small water drop looking black dot appeared right under a black dot where standing where his pupil originally was and it slowly fell down to his lower eyelid and spread out in a small arc.

"This is stage two. I unlocked it during Gaara's birth," Hitori spoke, "It allows me to see chakra system better and it gives me a sensing radius like the byakugan. It's current range is five hundred meters."

Hearing this, Chiyo was incredibly shocked... Back when Hitori used to train with her, he had never shown this so she had never known and this would also explain how Hitori was able to see Karura's dire situation before anyone else back then.

"Did the Third know?" she couldn't help but ask.

Hitori nodded slowly with an embarrassed smile as he replied, "I accidentally revealed it to him while we were training. When I told him about my ability to lift sand, he got excited and tried to get me to try to control his iron sand... My eye accidentally activated while I was observing him."

"He tried to get you to learn to use his iron sand?" Chiyo replied in a bewildered tone as recalled a moment a few years ago when the Third would often visit their house to take Hitori just on the outskirts of the village to train.

Hitori was just about to reply when a loud knocking could be hear on the front door.

"I'll go check who it is. Keep the story on hold," said Chiyo almost immediately as she got up and left the room, implying that she wanted Hitori to finish explaining.

She was then gone for about five minutes before she came back in with a happy expression on her face and next to her was a man that Hitori was easily able to recognise, Rasa!

(A/N: I have no idea why I added this. I just wanted to have a Chiyo and Hitori bonding chapter. I hope that this chapter is able to show that Hitori and Chiyo do indeed have a close relationship. Upload rate will be staggered until Sunday. I have to do community work lol... Jk, its another family event... My grandparents' fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Please do vote. Let's get to a million view before the start of October...---Famous last words)
