2 The Beginning and New Name!!

The clouds loudly rumbled as rain fell from them as a young boy emerged from the shadows of an alleyway. The boy had snow white hair and black void-like eyes, he wore simple black shorts and a white T-shirt. This was , of course , none other than the MC of this story. There were almost no vehicles in the road so all he could hear was the sound of the rain hitting his environment as he thought 'Did that motherfucker forget to give me a family?'

The boy just stood there in the rain for a few minutes staring blankly at whatever caught his attention until a car stopped on the sidewalk in front of him. The boy was startled by this and went on guard until the car door opened and a white rat bear thing wearing a suit stepped out with another guy who seemed like a bodyguard took out an umbrella and protected the rat wearing a suit from the rain with it.

''Hello there.'' said the the white rat with a kind voice and a facial expression that one could guess was a smile.

''H-hello...'' said the boy with an unreadable expression. He wasn't surprised by the talking, walking white rat wearing a suit. Honestly compared to the things in One Piece this is somewhat normal.

''What are you doing in the rain? Are you lost, child?'' asked the white rat. He had to look up to look the boy in the eyes but he still had an aura of superiority around him.

''Y-yes...? I don't know...I can't remember anything...'' said the boy as he looked down in sadness. Or so the white rat thought but the boy was actually thinking 'Damn it god why couldn't I just be adopted by him earlier??? I don't wanna act like a confused kid it's too annoying'

''I see.'' was all that the white rat said before he went into thought for a while before saying '' Would you like to come with me? I might be able to reunite you with your parents.''

'This is suspicious as hell... Oh well I guess I don't have any other choice. Hopefully he's just a kind rat bear thing.' thought the boy before answering ''O-okay...Thank you mister.''

The white rat wearing a suit smiled at this. ''My name is Nezu. What's yours?'' asked the white rat.

''I don't know...'' said the boy with slight sadness in his eyes. 'I don't want to use my old name...I want to start my life anew...and do things right this time...okay maybe exploit my powers and reign supreme as the King of the Pirates or whatever equivalent there is in this world'

''I see...'' said Nezu with an unreadable expression before he gestured to the car saying ''Let's get to somewhere dry first.''

The boy got into the car followed by Nezu who closed the door behind him and told the driver to take them home. The entire car ride was filled with awkward silence but the boy didn't notice since he was too busy staring out the window...probably imagining someone running on the sidewalk. It took an hour to arrive at Nezu's home and they went inside. The boy was mesmerized by the sheer wealth that emanated from everything he saw. The paintings had gold frames, the door handles were made out of gold and even the toilet was made out of gold.

'Damn I didn't know I was getting kidnapped by Scrooge McDuck's rat cousin.' was the thought that going through the boy's head as his face was full of surprise.

A few hours passed without anything notable happening. The boy was currently sitting on a chair with Nezu in front of him but without the smile that was present whenever the boy saw him. Besides Nezu was a man with black hair, black eyes and an outfit that detectives usually wore in movies.

''I sent an image of yours to search about your identity and also had the security cameras near the alleyway I found you in checked but almost nothing came up. There were no kids that matched your appearance and the security cameras in the alleyway were turned off before you appeared. So I'm sorry to say this but we have no method to bring you back to your parents so I brought this detective here to help you with what you would like to do.'' said Nezu.

''Hello there, I am detective Naomasa Tsukauchi. I know this is must be very hard to process but I'm here to help you decide what you'll do. But first let's get the important thing's out of the way.'' said the detective before he looked the boy in the eyes and asked ''Do you really not remember anything? Anything at all? Even the smallest detail might help us.''

''I don't know my name or where I live or who my parents even are...And I really don't know how I ended up at the alleyway, I just woke up there.'' answered the boy, making the detective sigh in relief and nod at Nezu who smiled slightly before turning to the boy.

''Well normally we send kids like you to adoption agencies...but I would like to ask you one thing. Would you like to get adopted by me?'' asked Nezu with his usual smile. ' The adoption agencies are a horrible place for children...the mistreatment and abuse runs rampant in that place...Humans really are horrible, they treat the children of their species the same way they treat lab rats...'

''Y-yes...I would like that...you seem nice.'' said the boy with a smile. Of course while he said that he was thinking 'WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I GOT A RICH RAT DAD'

''Great! But firstly we'll have to give you a name. What would you like to name yourself?'' asked Nezu, much to the displeasure of Detective Tsukauchi who was thinking 'Is that really something you should be asking from a 3 year old?'

''Uhm....Should you really be asking a 3 year old that?'' questioned the boy with squinted eyes, making Nezu freeze and Detective Tsukauchi laugh a bit. ''Give me a minute, I need to think...''

''Okay I think I got a good one!'' said the boy with a bright smile on his face. 'I kinda want to name myself Luffy... but that's cringe so I'll go with this.' thought the boy as he stood up, put his hands on his hips and said ''My name will be... Kaito!''

''Hm...Kaito is a good name but you should make a family name too... I don't really have one to give to you.'' said Nezu with a bit of sadness in his voice. 'Maybe I shouldn't adopt him...I'm sure other families can provide with more than I can...Maybe I can get the Yaoyorozu's to take him...' thought Nezu but his thoughts were interrupted.

''Well I thought so too but...If we both have no family names then we'll have that in common! I think that should tell everyone that we're family...I mean I already have white hair and black eyes like you so...'' Nezu smiled at the boy when he heard this. 'This child...' thought Nezu as he thought about what his future might hold in store for him.
