589 Chapter 589: Alcia City

The plane landed on the airstrip about several miles east of Alcia City. The airport had been placed there strategically, away from the mountains. In the event of an attack by air monster, the military mages in Alcia City would be able to intercept them and shoot them down before they could reach the planes. Or so the theory went.

I closed my eyes briefly and felt the jerk as the wheels hit the ground. The plane screamed across the highway before braking to a stop. There was a shudder, and then the pilot announced that we had landed.

"Please wait for a moment before you take off your seatbelts," he pleaded, but already I could hear the snaps of people unfastening their safety belts. Seriously, nobody ever listened to instructions. Already people were switching their smartphones back on.
