2 Daisy, Ripper and Devils.

When Vander sat down in his chair he immediately closed his eyes and went deep into his mind. He first appeared in the familiar space of the Indoraptor who immediately roared at him.

He raised his hands toward the large hybrid even though he could leave when he wanted.

"Easy."

He watched as the large raptor walked around him in circles. The large toe claw tapped on the ground, but even as he watched it closely it vanished from his view in a puff of shadows.

"So your power is shadow walk and manipulation."

He turned around where he came face to face with the fanged jaws of the Indoraptor. He reached out and placed his hand on his snout. He saw its yellow eyes squint as he touched the black scales.

Out of nowhere, he lunged at Vander to bite his arm, but he moved his arm out the way. Vander checked his hand to make sure he still had his fingers. He squinted his eyes at the creature as he saw it smile just like in the movie.

"I know the perfect name for you, Ripper."

Ripper blinked a few times as he turned around making Vander nervous. The large tail was swung at him so he bent backward to avoid that sweeping tail. Ripper left into the distance which was a good sign.

It realized that in the familiar space it could not kill Vander.

"I better not trust him for now so he is out of the question for my first summon. I better make his home at least livable. How big is this place?"

He focused on this space and found it was exactly 500 meters in all directions.

'Not very large, but I can make so with this.'

He placed his hand on the ground and made a large lake in case it wanted to go for a swim. He also made a large forest similar to North America as the Indoraptor seemed to be a creature made for more dark forests compared to the Indominous Rex.

He spent 10 minutes making the entire forest a bit more natural while Ripper watched. He had entered the lake to wallow near the shore as Vander worked.

"You lady bum. You won't be the first I summon that is for sure."

Ripper roared at him and seemingly got offended.

"If you swear to not kill me when I bring you out I will reconsider."

Ripper snorted and merely enjoyed basking in the warm sun while in cool water. Either way, Vander was done with his habitat. It was not like he was making a place in his soul, his memories were enough as his soul was a place he ruled.

"Next, The Indominous Rex."

He vanished from Ripper's home and appeared right in front of the giant Indominous. The top part of her body was covered in giant red spikes and large red stripes.

"You look even more brutal than the

She was fully grown and angry. She roared at him and charged right at him intending to devour him in one bite.

He vanished and appeared on her back which he had to be careful with. Her back was lined with giant red spikes and she did not look happy to see him.

"Ok, if Ripper looked menacing you loo even worse."

She roared and charged at him with far more speed than a creature her size should. Blood seemed to drip from her spines which then began to crackle in red lightning. It began to cover her huge claws that she slashed in his direction.

'THAT CAN KILL ME!'

He used his control over his soul space to freeze the attack mid-air. This was not the same as the lunge that Ripper sent his way. She really hated everything that lived and he understood why.

'She is a petri dish of everything that Wu and Hoskin wanted to stuff her with. The clash of so many instincts of so many creatures had made her this way.'

She opened her jaws causing lightning to build up in her Jaws toward him.

"Chains."

Massive chains wrapped around her body and jaws to keep her immobile. The original Indominous was already a creature genetically designed for combat, but this was one even stronger.

The chains he wrapped around it were beginning to creep and crack despite being made of soul energy. Vander did not have infinite reserves of energy so he would have to finish these two and then the rest later.

"Sorry."

He raised his hand and did away with the chains. The Indominous began to build even more lightning so he walked toward her.

"Look, I am sorry about the chains. I freaked out, but who wouldn't. You are quite terrifying. So please do not eat me. We will both die."

He walked right in front of the creature which went on all fours to look him in the eyes. He looked into her eyes and reached out to touch her.

"I think you need a name. If you are my familiar, you will be with me until the day that I die. So, I think your name is Daisy."

The Indominois tilted its head as everything about it had gotten boosted. Even its intelligence so it was sentient and could think for itself. Vander could feel that all of the creatures he picked were pretty much as smart as a human child.

However, the Indoraptor and Indominous were a step above them. When his hand touched the rough armored hyde of Daisy he felt a deeper connection compared to Ripper. Ripper was a true sociopath while Daisy was just as brutal, but more controlled by her savagery.

He smiled as he hugged her snout with a smile.

"How about it? We can be friends."

She lunged forward and ate him causing him to wake up drenched in sweat.

"THAT BITCH!"

The whole class turned to look at him making him cough.

"Ouch, my bitch of a headache. It hurts."

No one believed him which made things even more embarrassing. He covered his face as he did not want people to look at him.

'I guess Ripper will be the best bet for now. He is a cunning raptor, but that may be better than Daisy. I didn't even get to make her home.'

He sighed as he rested his head on his desk. Issei turned to look at him which made Vander notice.

'Wait, isn't he supposed to be important?'

Vander thought about it and it suddenly came back to him.

'Oh, fuck. My memories are damaged so I might forget some important events.'

Suddenly the teacher called out to him.

"Vander."

"Yes sir."

Everyone looked at him weirdly as the teacher was a woman. He had not even seen the teacher the whole class as he was more focused on his creatures. She sighed but did not take it to heart.

"Did you forget again?"

Vander touched his head and nodded. She sighed as this was something normal from time to time with Vander.

"My name is miss Mizuki, you tend to forget some time to time."

"Sorry, miss Mizuki."

She shook her head.

"Do you think you can solve this math problem?"

"Sure."

He got up and went to the board to complete the calculus problem. He was still a college student even though he was forgetting some things. Math was something he was great at after all.

"That is correct."

Issei groaned as he did not get a single thing Vander did.

'I am so boned.'

Vander sat down and for the rest of the day he kept on dealing with Ripper so he felt he had made some progress. He did complete the habitats of his dinosaurs, but he preferred to focus on being able to summon one of them.

If he could summon Ripper soon it would mean he had a source of combat potential with him. The end result was that he got eaten 4 times, but each time he got just a bit nicer. By the end of the day he was pale as a ghost as while he could not feel pain, the sight was terrifying.

'Seems this will be harder than I thought.'

He sighed as he walked toward the exit of the school. Just as he was about to leave he realized something.

'Am I homeless?'

Persephone had given him a body and put him in school, but she had not given him a home. He sighed as he walked out of the school with a downcast look on his face.

"I should find a box."

"Why would you need a box?"

Vander sighed as he answered the question.

"I think I am homeless."

He walked out of the school as he kept talking to the voice.

"No, you just forgot again."

"I did? So I don't have to sleep in a box."

He heard a feminine snort making him look over where a pretty Japanese girl with long hair in a ponytail was laughing at him. He poked his head trying to remember who she was and realized after some effort.

"I know you, your Akeno."

She nodded with a smile.

"You forgot that too."

She got really close to him as she looked into his eyes. She squinted her eyes as she looked into his bright yellow eyes.

"Wow, they look like amber."

"Thanks, I guess."

She grabbed his collar to pull him down so she could whisper in his ear.

"Are you possessed?"

He tilted his head confused.

"Am I?"

Akeno shook her head.

"That is why I asked you? Since when have you had this issue?"

Vander started to walk away with Akeno next to him.

"Since I was a kid. I was in a car wreck and I hit my head. I think."

Akeno placed her hand on his back as she used a quick Shinto spell to determine if someone was possessed. The first thing she saw was Ripper roaring in her face making her stop.

Vander realized something was wrong as he walked away from her.

"What was that?"

'He is not possessed, he merely has a strong familiar. Interesting.'

"Nothing, I just noticed a bug on your back. It's gone now."

Vander nodded as he heard Ripper roaring into his head telling him she saw him.

'Not good.'

His face got cold as he looked at her. She realized that he knew she did something and he did not look happy.

"I am sorry about that if it offended you. I only wanted to help in case you are possessed. Seems you are not and merely have some trouble with your familiar.'

Vander sighed as he did not think he would have already encountered them. He did not intend to become a Devil, but he could make some friends as he needed help.

"Will you take me to the Gremory Heir? I am not interested in becoming a Devil, but that does not mean I can't be a friend."

She smiled as she thought he would already know. He had to be at least somewhat capable if he had such a familiar."

"We can take about that later, so can you come now?"

Vander nodded.

"Better than going to sleep on the roof until I remember where my house is."

He started to knock on his head as his pets were starting to act up again. Akeno started to lead him to the Occult Research Club which should be a good place to start. He might be a High Human, but it was better to learn from someone like the Gremory family about this world.

Not everything could be learned from reading the Light Novel which he forgot most of. Vander just had one question.

"Did Koneko send you my way?"

Akeno nodded.

"She said it looked like something else was in your eyes so she wanted me to help you. In the past, I did help people possessed and haunted by spirits and demons. I thought that was what was wrong with you, but I was wrong.

You just have a too strong familiar for your own good. I have one too, but mine are not for combat. What is his name?"

"Ripper, I found his egg by chance when I was a kid. My blood got on his eggshell and I have been hounded by him ever since."

"That is a very uncommon way for people to make a contract with a magical beast. It seems you had some untapped magical talent for your blood alone to make a contract. He does not seem to obey you at all."

"Not one bit. I don't summon him at all as he will rip me limb from limb if I am not careful."

He heard the chuffing of Ripper which confirmed his thoughts. As he was thinking Akeno turned around to look at him.

"Were here."

She opened the door and led him inside.

"You can sit on the couch. I will bring some tea."

"Coffee would be better."

Akeno nodded.

"Black or with milk."

"Black would be better. I don't like sugar."

She nodded as while she preferred tea, she still could make great coffee. While she did that he heard the shower running and now that he thought about it, why did she shower with men in the room?

'Either she likes the attention or she does not care about it.'

He ignored that as he looked at Koneko who was sitting next to him eating.

"Thanks for at least trying to help me. I was not possessed though."

She shook her head.

"It's no problem."

He glanced at Kiba who was smiling at him.

"Wow, you are just as tall as the rumors say. Why don't you join a sport?"

"I would if my familiars were not roaring in my head nonstop."

Akeno froze when she heard that.

"Plural?"

"Yup, I have 10. When I found Ripper's egg, I explored a bit more and found 9 more. I thought I was so lucky, but my life pretty much went to hard mode after that."

Akeno explained to him what the issue was.

"A familiar contract as many levels, the one you have seems to be the highest rank. Soul bond which had the most benefit, but also requires a fragment of your soul. Your soul is split into 11 pieces, yours and the ones you used on your familiars. I am impressed you are alive."

Just as he was handed a cup of coffee that smelled great Rias got done with her shower.

"Now that I heard that, I totally want you to join my peerage. However, I will not force anything on you if that is your choice."

She emerged from the shower in a towel barely covering herself up. Vander kept looking into her eyes. He sipped a bit of coffee making his eyes open wide.

"Amazing. It is both strong, but it calms my mind. I have not felt this at ease in so long."

Akeno sighed that it worked.

"Those are magical coffee beans meant to treat trauma. I wondered if it would be your mind which worked. They are not very rare, but they are seasonal. I can give you more to help you with your mind."

"That would be great, but now can we talk about your offer to join your peerage. Why me? I am not the strongest and my familiars are not that strong or are they?"

Rias shook her head.

"That is where you are wrong. Soul Bonded familiars have far more potential than you think and so do you. Even a skilled mage would only be able to take maybe 3 soul bonds before their souls get too damaged to make more.

4 would destroy their souls so you are much more talented than you think. Which is why your 10 makes you so impressive. You are still sane if only a little unstable. If you get stronger, so will they. A soul bond is a two-way connection after all."

She sat down in front of him in her two as Akeno put a cup of tea in front of her.

"Thank you Akeno, now how do you know who I am? Just because you have your familiars should not mean you know too much of the supernatural."

Vander nodded.

"I have used my familiars to kill a stray Devil in the past. He told me all I needed to know after all."

Rias seemed to have bought it.

"Alright then, if you do not want to become a Devil that is fine. However, you should join the club anyway as it will give you access to more information. Maybe you will be able to actually control them instead of throwing them at your foes and running in the other direction."

Akeno now had a request.

"Can I ask you to summon one of them?"

Out of his 10 familiars, a few were of the right size, but he had not actually interacted with them enough. His only choice was Ripper.

"I can summon Ripper, but will you be able to handle him?"

Rias pointed to Koneko."

She can hold him down if he gets too rowdy. How bad can it be?"

Ripper was excited to come out and cause havoc so he looked at Akeno.

"Please make sure he does not get out. He can manipulate shadows."

He got up after he drank his coffee and walked to the open area of the room. It was a rather large room so he had more than enough space. He held his hand out as he focused on his connection to Ripper to bring him outside.

A large magic circle appeared in front of him making Akeno raise an eyebrow.

'He can use magic circles?'

He knew this instinctively, so from the circle appeared the giant body of Ripper. He was even bigger than the movie one as he was twice as tall as Vander who was 6'5. Akeno watched as Ripper stretched and looked at each one of them with ferocity in his gaze.

He did not attack Vander as he did not want to die yet, but they were not Vander. Akeno regretted her decision to let him summon Ripper.

'It had as much magic as Rias.'

Ripper lunged at her and just as his jaws were about to clap down on her head he dispelled into a mist. Vander fell on his ass as he was panting in cold sweat.

"Sorry, I canceled the summons."

Kiba was about to rush at Ripper making him break out in a cold sweat.

"He was faster than me Rias. I could barely react before he lunged at Akeno."

Rias was looking at Akeno who seemed shaken up that she almost died.

"Vander, can I ask you to come here from now on? I think it is safer for you to learn how to control magic and your own power before you can get the loyalty of Ripper as you name him. Can someone check the bestiary for me to find out what kind of creature Ripper is?"

Kiba nodded.

"I got it."

He went somewhere to get one of the bestiaries they had, but they would not find a thing. Ripper was a genetically engineered super weapon after al. Now that he had magic, things were even worse for his prey.

Vander stood up and started to leave.

"Well, thank you for having me. Sorry about almost killing you with my pet."

Akeno shook her head.

"We did get overconfident after all. Who knew he would be that fast? By tomorrow we should figure out what kind of creature he is so we can help you train to control him. As for your other familiars, let's not bother as if they are anything similar to Ripper, we are not strong enough. Still, think about my offer Vander."

Vander nodded.

"Sure, I will think about it."

He had no idea how good a High Human was after all. He had some questions to answer about what a High Human was and what it could do. Just before he left he froze.

"Does anyone know where I live? I still think I am homeless."

Rias blinked a few times as she did not expect that.

"If you don't mind you can just sleep here if you want. I don't think you are homeless though. Akeno, can you check where his residence is."

"Got it Rias."

She walked away while Vander waited for them to check. Sleeping here would not be too bad as it was kind of comfy. For now, he would wait while they did that. He sat on the couch again as he just waited.

'Homeless.'

He sighed as he was rather tired as summoning Ripper was tiring. Even now he was hounding his thoughts in anger at being denied his meal.

'Not my fault you were too slow.'

Ripper squinted his eyes as he took that as a challenge. Vander knew what he was thinking, but it was fine as long as he could reign him in eventually. For now, he just laid back on the couch and closed his eyes.

The coffee could not stop how tired he was so he decided to just sleep his exhaustion away.
