49 Chapter 50

They went to class and got to their seats. Ms. Ross came into the room with her usual droopy, carefree expression. Her eyes stopped at Travis for a second every minute as she prepared her canvas.

"OK, so I'll be checking your drawings today. Let's begin. This is not for a grade, so do not worry," she said.

One by one, Ms. Ross walked around the class, checking people's drawings. She gave each person a compliment, even if they had come with the most horrendous piece of art she had ever seen. She soon reached Travis's table. She began with Mia, and a visible surprise planted itself on her face when she saw Mia's art.

"Wow, I never knew you were good," she said, picking it up and giving it a good look. Mia blushed, glancing over at Travis and winking at him. He winked back and looked away to avoid suspicion.

"I wish to speak to you. Do you mind?"

"No, ma'am."

"Good."

She walked past Mia and got to Travis. As soon as she saw what he had drawn, she smiled sweetly, wrapping her arms around his neck as she leaned on his back, intentionally pressing her petite breasts against him. Her lips were only inches away from his ear as she spoke in a seductive tone.

"You're really an artist. I'm very impressed," she said slowly.

Travis was surprised at how bold she was. He looked all around the class and noticed that nobody even cared about what was happening right now.

'Huh?' he thought.

"You and I need to talk, okay?"

"Sure, when should we do that?" he asked.

"Let's do it next week. I'm quite busy tomorrow, I might not even come to class. Any problems?"

"Nope."

"Good, I'm keeping this," she said.

She went to Eve. Ms. Ross gave her a long stare since she had drawn Travis. Eve blushed and tried to look away, but Ms. Ross pulled her face toward her.

"You took that literally. Not that it matters, does he know that you drew him?" she asked.

"Yes, he does. In fact, he was the first to see."

"Well, as long as he knows. I'm sure you've drawn many pictures of him before, am I wrong?"

She reluctantly shook her head while trying her hardest not to show how red her face was. Travis wondered if these two knew that he could clearly hear them since they didn't even try to whisper.

'Weird,' he thought.

After that, Ms. Ross went in front of the class.

"It seems that a lot of you were secretly artists. And from what I know, most of you are not in any clubs. So why not just join the Art Club? We only have a single member, so I hope you'll think about joining," she said.

Right after that, the bell rang. Travis walked out with Eve while Mia had to stay behind to speak with Ms. Ross.

"Now tell me the truth," she said sternly.

Mia's world crumbled when she heard that. She thought she was slick, but it turns out she was just delusional.

"When did you get this good? Last I remembered, your artwork wasn't, umm, how can I say this... on this level," she said.

'Oh, she doesn't know,' Mia thought.

"I take lessons with Travis. He's my art tutor," she replied instantly. She and Travis had come up with an alibi in case she was ever asked this question.

"That's the first I've heard of that. Well, I'm happy that you've improved. I want you to join my club."

'No! That's the last thing I want,' Mia thought.

"Could I think about it? I can give you my answer when school is out." Ms. Ross nodded as she began eating her muffins. Mia smiled, said goodbye, and then left the class and hurriedly ran to the next. While she was coming to class, Travis was sitting with Eve in Science Class.

"You seem quite close with Ms. Ross. Did something happen for her to like you so much?" she asked.

"Are you jealous?"

"Honestly, yeah," she replied. Travis smiled and patted her head like the classic Japanese protagonist in a harem anime.

"Don't worry, Eve. You're the only girl in my eyes. Alright?"

She nodded and looked away like the shy childhood friend who never gets picked in a romance anime. Travis turned away from her and tried to hold his laughter.

'No, I can't laugh yet. I've gotta hold it in,' he thought.

Mia came in and found him patting Eve's head. She frowned, wore her lab coat and glasses, and then sat next to them.

"It must be nice," she said to Eve with a grim look. Eve smiled in a smug manner.

"You've never been this close to Travis, have you?" she asked with a smirk.

Mia recalled what happened yesterday and smiled internally.

"Yes, I'm so jealous," she sarcastically remarked. When Eve heard Mia's sarcastic tone, she immediately started thinking about the worst possibilities.

Before she could say anything, Ms. Okita walked in with a box filled with supplies. She placed them on the front desk and looked at the whole class.

"Today, we'll be conducting a short experiment. It's nothing big, I just want to jog your memory. I'm sure you've done this before," she said.

'She said she wanted the things tomorrow, right? Guess I'll have to buy them on my way back home today. What else am I supposed to do again? Visit Mia and Eve. So much to do. I should skip Mia and go to Eve. From now on, I'll do that,' Travis thought.

"Travis, could you go to my office and get something for me, please?" Ms. Okita asked.

He was brought back from his thoughts by the sound of her monotone voice.

He got up and went up front.

"Could you go get me my glass beacon? It has a red substance inside. 'I highly recommend you do not drink it, unless you want to attract every girl in this room,'" she said.

'Who wouldn't want that?' he thought.
