1 She forever sleeps

I was tired, okay? My brain was acting up, and my muscles were failing me. I needed to sleep, but I couldn't do that in the middle of school. It would have been a straight road to detention. I took the standing desk at every point I got in every class so I wouldn't fall asleep. it worked.

But, by the end of the day during after-school clubs, I'd been holding out too long. My eyes dropped when I sat next to my boyfriend in the library to do homework with two other friends and my body leaned against his heavily.

He put his arm around me and brushed my shoulder gently, setting his head atop mine. "Tired, babe?"

I nodded. "Yeah. Tired." I didn't know what was wrong with me. I yawned. "You could say that." I pulled out my phone and handed it to him to finish his homework on the science textbook website and yawned again.

He kissed the top of my head. "You can go home, you know," he whispered. "Do you want me to take you home?"

I shook my head. "Wake me up when it's time to go. I finished my homework in class." My arms snaked around him and I closed my eyes completely.

"Sleep tight," said my friend.

My hearing was already beginning to shut down. My conception of reality was diverting, transforming into a dream-like state. I barely felt his arms around me now, though I still felt his presence.

I took one last breath before my body shut down completely. I exhaled fully, and I didn't breathe in.

I never breathed in again.
