Devil Smile

The song stopped. Followed by Ash's moans which also stopped.

For a moment Vio was still transfixed. She stared at the girl in front of her with many questions. Who is she? Who is that girl?

Why did the song she sing hurt Ash, but not the three of them? Is it because the three of them are human while Ash is a vampire?

"What was that?" Vio heard Shawn ask. Confusion and disbelief were evident on his face. Looks like Vio's face also shows the same thing. Because frankly Vio was also hit by a deep confusion.

Strange things keep happening repeatedly lately. Starting from vampires, attacks, kidnappings, threats, almost getting hit and now this girl in front of her. How about this girl isn't human either? Thinking of that possibility, Vio's heart, which had calmed down for a moment, now beats fast again.

The girl hadn't even answered Shawn's question.

"What are you...?" Vio didn't have time to finish the question, when the girl was weak and almost fell if Shawn didn't catch her body quickly.

"I'll take this girl to the hospital. But what about you guys?" Shawn's tone sounded worried.

"We're okay, Shawn. Don't worry about us. You just take the girl to the emergency room."

Shawn looked doubtful, but after a moment he nodded. "Okay, then I'll take this girl first. Only then will I come back to bring Ash inside." Then without waiting for an answer Shawn stepped into the hospital grounds. Shawn has always been good.

Vio then glanced at Ash who was still lying down. She contemplated what she should do with the boy before Shawn arrived.

With slow steps, Vio then walked towards where Ash was lying. She crouched down looking for a small twig that might be around the place. Meet. Vio grabbed the branch and used it to gently poke Ash's body. However, there was no response.

Is he dead? Is it really dead?

Ah, but that's impossible right? Uh, or is it possible?

Vio repeated the gesture of poking the boy's body. This time she aimed it at the back of Ash's head.

"Hey, vampires." Vio whispered softly making sure the words could only be heard by herself and Ash, however, there was no answer. She poked once more until Ash's head was slightly tilted forward. "Oi… Oi… Are you still alive?"

Still no response from the boy.

Vio switched to sitting on the road with her legs crossed. Her back felt tired.

"Wow, did you faint or die? Because if you die, it's a good thing," Vio said as she fiddled with the twig in his hand, twirling it carelessly.

"My life will be peaceful again," she added.

After Vio said that, she saw Ash's body start to move.

Vio gasped in shock.

Did Ash hear what she said earlier? Did that guy just hear all the bad words Vio had for him?

Slowly but surely, Ash started to rise. This cannot be tolerated.

Without thinking, Vio grabbed Devia's hand and asked Devia to run again.

Vio doesn't want to take the risk, if later the vampire guy will attack them again.

Especially after the bad words that Vio said earlier. Ah, why did she take the time to look for a disease by saying that.

"Where are we going, sis?" Devia asked confused.

"Of course we're going home." Vio answered briefly.

"Oh? Ash left?"

"Yes," said Vio again.

"Whoa? But ..."

"Just leave him, Devia."

Vio didn't have time to explain further because suddenly a taxi stopped and the two of them got on.

"Sis, where are the strapless shoes that you wear on your right foot? Why are you wearing only your left shoe?"

Good grief! "Looks like it's gone."

"Then we'll take it again."

"Oh, let it go."

"But, those are your favorite shoes, right?"

"No problem." Even though she said that, Vio was crying inside.

She regretted having to lose one of those turquoise colored shoes, but, it can't be helped if she had to go back there again to pick up the shoes she left behind when she ran away from Ash.

"Sis... Sis, what was that earlier?" Devia asked again.

"Who knows. I don't know either, Dee." Vio replied while leaning her head on the seat cushion. She felt a little relieved that she had moved away from the creature that was the source of the trouble. Don't forget Vio also sent a text message to Shawn so she wouldn't be confused looking for the two of them who suddenly disappeared.

As soon as she got home, Vio rushed into the house and didn't forget to lock all the latch because Vio didn't want the creature to enter the house.

Vio was surprised when Raina's aunt patted her on the back.

"How is Daniel, Vio?" asked Aunt Raina.

Vio did send a message to Raina's aunt that they would visit Daniel beforehand.

"Seems to be getting a little better, Aunt." Vio replied as she took off her shoe.

"Thank God. By the way, where's your other shoe? Why are you wearing only one, Vio?" asked Aunt Raina when she saw Vio who only wore one shoe.

"Gone, auntie," replied Vio languidly.

"How come?" asked Aunt Rina again.

Vio just shrugged her shoulders in response. "Ah, I'm so sorry. I'll buy you a new one tomorrow."

Vio smiled happily, "Thank you, auntie," she said.

And now, Vio exhaled, slightly relieved to have made it home safely. Vio saw Devia had gone upstairs first.

"You're welcome, honey," said Aunt Raina, "O ... by the way, Vio ... you have a friend. It's been waiting for you in the living room."

Hah? Friend? The feeling she didn't make an appointment with anyone today. Vio did not step up and turned to follow Aunt Raina into the living room.

"Who, Aunt?" she asked.

"Uhmm... if I'm not mistaken the name..." Aunt Raina didn't have time to finish her sentence when Viona saw someone get up from the sofa and greet her.

"Good night, Vio!"

God! Vio didn't know whether to cry or scream when she saw this guy who had just stood up and greeted her.

She wanted to run. Really want to run. But, where should she run, if the person she was desperately avoiding was in this house?
