Hyper Gene

An Unknown Year In The Past...

"Looks like... The war is finally over..." A young beat up man who stood upon a grey and dead battle field could be seen. He was dressed in torn blue hero costume that had black gloves, and black boots, as well as a torn up cape. His outfit though was badly torn and ripped and his cape was ripped in half about to fall off. He wore a pair of sunglasses but they to were cracked and broken and his flesh was covered in scars and bruises.

This was Full Monarch, the Number Two Hero, dressed in his first ever superhero outfit, though it was badly destroyed due to the fact he just finished his strongest fight yet.

All around the Alien like man, large metal looking creatures that resembled giant meatal human like wolves, like a werewolf, covered in black scales could be seen, all of them having apparently been slain by him. The Monsters. The beasts that hunt his kind down... The natural enemies of them... With the powers they came. The floor was made out of small grains of what appeared to be sand, but in actuality were the dusted down remains of bones from those who didn't make it. The entire area just seemed to be a wasteland of death. The sky itself seemed to be grey and dead on this world.

It couldn't be Earth...

Right?

"Maybe now..." The man said quietly as he slowly closed his eyes. A small drop of rain fell from the sky splashing against his face as it began to rain. "Maybe now... We can finally have peace... Here I stand all alone in a field of endless death..." He sighed. "My powers unable to save all of them." He said as small sparks of lightning could be seen coming out of his hand. "The last of my kind. Beaten down by them and rendered to near ash. What a joke this war turned out to be... Maybe now we can build upon-"

The entire area around him began to shake and rumble as the ground glowed golden and a strange golden aura seemed to shine out and steam started to flow as all the bone powder began to melt and flow out like a liquid hissing and bubbling.

He turned his head just in time to see a large part of the ground rip open as what appeared to be a massive black snake covered in black armor that was melded to its flesh rose from the ground. That strange scary golden aura was coming from it. A crackling gold energy spewed out of its mouth as the creature began to expand getting bigger and bigger its stomach inflating like a balloon that was being filled with to much air.

The energy got bigger as cracks began to develop along the creatures body and it let out a loud cry!

"Shit! One's still alive. Damn it's trying to self destruct!" Plasma began to seep out of his fingers as he formed a massive disk of energy and threw his arm out sending out a spinning blade of plasma at the beast. "I'll stop it before it can-"

Before the man could finish the beast off erupted into a massive explosion enveloping the land in seconds...

A blast that split the world in two...

A blast that could create a whole new story...

Of course this was all a legend.

No way something like this could actually happen right?

Present Day...

Earth...

"Fall you pathetic humans! Fall!" Doctor Animole screamed out a mad and twisted smile coming onto his face as he watched the superheroes battle his mutated animals.

Down in the glass caged arena Shelly tried to keep Rebeca safe as Bad Wolf and Animilia fought off several of the monsters. There were many mutated beasts. Some were wolves, some were lions, and not like the dogs or cats that were stretched out. These ones were actually lions and wolves, their bodies being bent, snapped, and twisted, stretched out even larger and longer then they should have been, some having more limbs stabbing out of them, others having several mouths and rips of flesh.

They were no longer animals being more like disgusting gross beasts.

"Any suggestion on what the hell we do?" Bad Wolf yelled out going back to back with Animilia as they battled through the monsters.

"Yeah." Animilia hissed out. "We keep fighting!"

Bad Wolf held his right arm out as flames spilled out of his ring covering his right arm. He then held his left arm out as he used the power his body naturally possessed changing the limb into a faded grey metal like arm his fingers jutting out in the form of claws. He unleashed a powerful flaming karate chop with his right limb splitting many of the monsters in half and used his left arm to unleash powerful stabs towards his targets stabbing them through their skulls, bodies, or anything else he could do, simply killing them all in single strikes.

Over with Animilia her lower half changed into that of a tiger her feline cat legs blasting through the sand covered floor as she ran at one of the beasts. At the last moment before she reached one of them she jumped up changing her lower half into that of a grass hopper her legs exploding out at super sonic speeds and quite literally splitting one of the monsters apart spilling its blood and guts everywhere as it exploded on impact. Her lower half then changed at super speeds into a snake like tail which she used to slither across the ground and slam into more of the monsters.

"I... I'm scared." Rebeca cried out holding onto Shelly.

Shelly eyed the fighting with wide eyes as she tried to drag Rebeca away. "Just stay behind me. I'm sure the heroes can handle this... I hope..."

As Doctor Animole watched the fighting a small frown crossed onto his face as he eyed Bad Wolf and Animilia up. "The Hyper Gene... Do you have any clue what it is?" He asked.

"Don't care!" Bad Wolf yelled slamming a flaming punch through one of the animals.

"Long ago-"

"Oh he's gonna monologue."

"Yeah he does this..." Animilia sighed.

"-an Alien from space collapsed too our world. His name was... Full Monarch. We now know him as the Number Two Hero. When he first arrived to the world he was the first signs of wonders that could exist. And with it he brought something... Something new. I called it the Hyper Gene! See it's something... Something God like. More like Atoms in the shape of Genes. With it, it could mold out and change things. The first ever human to inherit the Hyper Gene was the Number One Hero Stand Tall! It was strong enough to make him so much stronger then even that filthy damn alien Full Monarch! But for whatever reason we could never get the Gene to improve anymore... See this Gene can do many things. It's what allowed access to other universes where Magic could rise up, it caused more Aliens to come to our world, it allowed people to mutate into more things. This Gene is what allowed you, Animilia to gain your powers. It can do a lot. I still don't even fully understand it myself only knowing that it is behind every superpower, be it magic, alien, or more. It existed out in the world! This... Gene... It does things you see. It causes evolution. I believe that it is where powers come from. Of course not all powers... Only some... Some people are bitten by animals and gain animal like powers. Others get exposed to radiation. And others have alien DNA inside of them. Others use magic... But for some... Some kids just seem to one day wake up with powers? Why... It must be this gene! This gene that came from space is the answer I know it!"

"So let me get this straight!" Bad Wolf yelled out. The metal on his left arm began to slowly flow out across his shoulder as the arm got a little bulkier and his claws got longer. His iris changed too a ruby red rather then the electric blue. "You started kidnapping cats, and dogs, and other animals. And have been injecting a gene that came from space that some humans have that grant them superpowers, but when injected into someone or something converts them into a monstrous form, all because you hate the fact that there are some aliens who come to Earth every now and then?"

"Yes! You see! This Gene... It does things... It evolves people... All in strange ways. Only Stand Tall has been able to handle it. Others get mutated into these strange monsters! I think if I study it more I can use it to awaken peoples superpowers! Every human would have a superpower then! Course... Many would have to die so I can learn how to negate the side effects. You see some people awaken powers. Other mutate in strange ways. When I injected myself with it my body sprouted out all these flying arms. When I placed it in an animal it turned into this crazy fanged beast! And when I placed it in Animilia it allowed her body to change!"

Bad Wolf dodged another strike going back to Animilia as he dodged it. "Wait? Animilia he injected the virus thingy into you?"

The woman didn't say anything staying silent as her lower half changed into a large scorpion like leg that stabbed out with a massive stinger that ripped more of them apart.

"Did she not tell you?" Doctor Animole smirked. "Her parents came too me long ago. When she had first been born. They wanted their precious baby to be someone famous so I was hired to inject her with all sorts of things and make her perfect. Years later her parents were killed by me for not paying me, and now that bitch won't stop coming after me and stopping my plans!"

"Are all villains this insane?" Bad Wolf asked.

"Yes." Animilia said flatly. "Keep fighting."

"Yeah, yeah." Bad Wolf slammed out another punch with his right arm sending out a wave of ice that froze more of the beasts in a single flash of ice. "Still... Any idea or plans on what we do? No matter how much we fight it doesn't seem like we're making a dent in this horde. They just keep coming."

"Well... We're gonna need to break through that roof at the source." Animila hissed frowning.

The beasts were far easier than then the alligators. They were just house hold pets turned into beasts, and not full blown alligators turned into monsters. That said even though they weren't near as dangerous as the monsters they fought earlier but still... No matter how many they took down the beasts just kept coming over and over.

"I get we have to break through that roof but any idea how?" Bad Wolf yelled out firing out more of his flames at the roof. "Cause I can't seem to even scratch it!" He fired some ice at it but still didn't break it.

"How about that left arm of yours?" She asked. "It seems tough."

"Meh. Used to be stronger-"

"I have an idea!" Shelly said getting the two heroes to turn to her. "You can use ice with that ring right?"

"Yeah?" Bad Wolf nodded holding his hand up. "So?"

"Cool! Glass objects, due thermodynamic properties, are susceptible to breaking when exposed to rapidly changing temperatures! Freeze it, then heat it up, as fast as you can, and hit it really hard!" She yelled out.

"Really?" Bad Wolf frowned. "That would never work-"

"Let's try it." Animilia said flatly grabbing him.

"Uh Oh-" Her legs changed into a large grasshopper style which she used too slam down shattering the floor as she threw her arm out sending Bad Wolf flying up and causing him to slam into the glass roof. He dropped down to the ground slamming into the stone floor with a loud smack.

"You didn't freeze it..."

"I didn't have time Bitch!"

"Well try it again." She shrugged grabbing him once more and throwing him up.

As Bad Wolf flew towards the roof he held his arm out as the ring glowed and he slammed it out causing the glass roof too be covered in a wave of ice. He got closer to it about to smash into it but right before he could fire exploded through the ring smashing an explosive fire ball into the roof and slamming his left arm out and stabbing it into the glass roof. There was a loud explosive cracking sound as he blasted through the glass roof and came crashing out slamming into the ground and throwing him across it as he landed in front of Doctor Animole.

The Doctor stood there with wide eyes stared at Bad Wolf.

"Hi."

"...Hey..." Doctor Animole said stepping away. "Uh oh-"
