The first day in school
Amy felt strange entering the campus. As she was used to just being near her house and this was distant from home. Her grade school days were just infront of their house. That whenever she needed a break, she can just go home right away. But this is different. No friends, new teachers and no families near her.
She finally enter her classroom and her class name was "daffodils". As she enter, the class, it was so chaos. So far from what she expected as this is a top class. A "pilot A classroom" where intelligent students reside. They were picked as top students with an average of 90% and above and no entrance exam needed. They were automatically enrolled in the school and Amy as valedictorian were given a full scholarship in the IRIS Academy.
Amy was shocked on what she witnessed, as she came from a conservative school. School that is remotely installed in her province, Ampaya. It was a school where students with great dream learned with teachers teaching good manners and inspire each of them to achieve their goals in life. "Hey gurl, come here" one of her classmate called her and referred her a seat near her. She is Noraska a black talented girl. Amy then sit beside her. "Are you also from far town? I'm from Bayaya but we have house also her in the city." Noraska utter and Amy just nod. "I'm Noraska by the way and you are?" "Amythest, you can call me Amy," She responded. She seem relieved, she now found a friend. She thought.
The teacher has not yet arrived and so they were dismissed early. It so happened that Noraska also boarded the same building at Nolave St. And so they decided to fix their things in the boarding school. All girls but still she feels the chaos. She started fixing her things and so was Noraska. Amy want her things neat and organized. Other girls were also busy organizing their things. She was not yet finished but she feels exhausted and so she lay in her bed to relax.
Another day started and so she prepared for another day at school. She wakes up early and then eat her breakfast. Just when she was about to leave for school, Noraska called her. "Amy, Amy Oh I've got some good news. I already packed and will transfer near your room." Amy was shocked, because Noraska was supposed to be in the 3rd floor rooms as she was considered an upper rich kid and she is only on the ground floor. "Nor why you don't have to do that. You're supposed to be in the upper room. I bet your parents will be disappointed," Amy utter. Noraska replied, "Oh you don't have to worry about that Amy. I already told them and that I have a new found friend Amy." "Okay, okay then let's fix your things it's already 07:30AM," Amy said to Noraska. Noraska felt overwhelmed and hugged Amy.
The school was just in front of their boarding school. So the two then headed school walking. When they arrived, Amy still feel the chaos but way better than yesterday as she has now Noraska. Minutes later, the teacher arrived and with no introduction, started the lesson. "Nor, did you understand what he is saying?" Amy whisper to Nor. "No not really. He was renowned as the most terror teacher here in IRIS. Hmmm but he's cute." Nor secretly told Amy. Amy then responded, "Seriously?" Then the two of them laughed. Just when they were secretly laughing and almost hold their breath that Teacher Arthur noticed. "What's the matter young lady? Is there something to laugh at doing an Algebra?" As Arthur was writing the equation at the blackboard. The two of them just bowed their head disappointed as the whole class looked at them. "You, you sitting near the window. Come here and solved this problem!" Amy was really a shy girl but this time she didn't have a choice. Infront, she told Arthur, "Sir, my name is Amy Tamaraw." As she was used to be called Amy by her former teachers. Arthur responded, "I don't care! I said solved the problem or you want another problem?" The whole class laughed but Arthur just stay terror. Arthur was a Math teacher known for his wit and terror. He was an honored students way back his time in the IRIS Academy. Amy begin writing her answers and when she was done Arthur told her. "Is it final?" Amy felt really disappointed but got no choice but to face him. "Yes sir" Ok then sit down!" Amy then go back to her seat.
After the Math class, Nor and Amy chitchat. "Hey you're great in Math Amy," Noraska said. Amy responded, "Oh yeah but I really don't like your terror crush." Amy tease Noraska. Noraska laughed and said, "Yeah but he's more cute when he's mad." Amy just laughed but still feel disappointed as this was the first time she was humiliated in front of class. She was used to receive praises from her former teachers.
All subjects were done and now it's time to go home. They were walking, when a group of students riding a bike tease them. "Hey you both, don't mess with mister T or else," and they all laughed. Amy was furious and about to face them but Noraska said, "don't mind them Amy they were just fools." Amy hold back and continue walking and Nor followed. When they arrived, Amy dropped all her belongings and lay in bed and Nor notice her sadness. "Hey what's up, it's just the first day of school. Cheer up," Nor said. Amy sighed, "I miss mom, I miss them, I miss home." Nor comforted her and said, "You can make it Amy, think of it that it was just your first day, you know, adjustments." "Yes, thanks Nor but I just don't like this day. It's rough and it's tough. Especially our Math teacher," Amy didn't finished the talking when Nor shouted, "Oh you mean my Arthur? I already followed him on Junstagram." Amy can't help but laugh, "you're really serious about that?" Nor responded with a big smile, "Of course!, from now on you will help me get some infos about him. You know where he lives, his favorite food, his fave sports and I know he's not yet married but I don't know if he has a girlfriend." Nor's expression changed thinking about her crush's girlfriend. The two of them talking while hanging their feet on the wall and just to end the convo as Amy wanted some rest she said, "Okay let's together find that out." Then Nor satisfied leave and then go to her room.
