Chapter 14: Yutarou's Unfulfilled Wish

Yutarou and the others had went he after having a feast.

The boy bid goodbye to the group and to Keijirou.

They had entered to their respective rooms.

Yutarou brought out his phone.

This reminded him of something.

The system.

The system has never given him notifications since Sunday.

It had all stopped. He didn't pay attention to it first, but now it's bugging him.

He clicked on the button and it displayed something else on the screen.

[System offline.]

[System under maintenance.]

[The system will notify the user as soon as it is back online in 24:30:50/HOUR: MINUTES: SECONDS]

[Thank you for your understanding.]

Yutarou, then, closed all the pop ups.

Now, he understood why the system had been so quiet.

He won't be able to do anything about it, but he wondered why and how to system was offline.

It means, just like any social medias, it can go under repair, as well.

'Either the system has caught a virus or someone was controlling it.' Yutarou never found the answer and decided to sleep in.

Then...

The next day has come.

The renovation day!

"So, the ceiling should be in color beige, the walls, well. The bottom part should be in brown, the middle part is orange brown, and the upper part should be in orange, then yellow. What do you guys think? Then, we can paint more designs or hang some painting frames." Kenji proposed. He acted like a campaigner.

Hiroshi baked snacks for everyone, Yutarou and Keijirou prepared the tea and tables.

"We can also stick various kinds of flowers in different colors." Jiyuu added.

"We should also change the florescent lights. I've seen it somewhere, the floral design lights." Kenji told the others.

"Oh, I've seen that, too. I got it." Jiyuu recalled. "How many do you think we need?" She asked.

"Depending on how big those lights and how bright they are, if we measure up the room. If we choose the maximum, it would take, at least, five or six lights in total." Akira estimated.

"Alright, I got those." Jiyuu nodded, taking note of it.

"We need ceiling fans—no—air conditioner." Kenji corrected himself.

"We already have that one. I'll have it check later on if it's still working." Kazuya stipulated.

"Okay. Then, the chairs and tables will also need some redecorating. The rectangle tables should be in the middle and the round ones should be scattered all over the room. We should also choose new covers, I say, ones with floral designs. And—" Kenji was cut by a sudden thud. The door has swung wide open.

A boy has entered the club room. "E—excuse me. I'm Akamatsu Izumi from class 1—D. I am the one who wanted to join this club." He said, bowing. His brown hair softly went back and forth. His violet eyes landed on someone he was searching for. "Ah, Yamaguchi—sama." He muttered, loud enough for everyone to hear.

"H—huh?!" Yutarou stammered.

'Did I hear that right? Did he address me as "sama"? God, I'm so screwed.' The boy cried on the inside.

"You know this guy?" Kazuya raised his eyebrow.

"Well. I did save him last Sunday. So, I guess I do." Yutarou couldn't deny it.

"Saved him?" Kazuya raised his eyebrow.

"It's something personal to him. I'd rather not say it without his permission." Yutarou reasoned out.

'He might kill me, you see.' Yutarou wanted to to say it, but he shouldn't.

"Oh, well. Not that I care." Kazuya shrugged it off. "Anyway, Hiro, are there any more applicants?" He faced Hiroshi who was scanning his eyes on the paper.

"No." The white haired boy answered.

"It's just us five, no, six." Kazuya said, counting Yutarou as part of the club, as well. "Oh, well. As you all know, I created this club together with Hiro. So, I should be the president and him, the vice president. I'll give the secretary and treasurer roles to our genius host, Akira." He declared. "Then, since you two are new, you should be our advertisers, you don't have to do anything other than posting fliers or giving them out." He explained. "So, shall we get to work?" Kazuya clapped his hands.

All the hosts had called for their personal butlers. All of them, either had black or brown hair and eyes.

'Well, they're just NPCs after all.' Yutarou thought.

Yutarou groaned, he wanted a butler, too. All one had to do was call for someone else to do all the work for you. You can rest as long as you want, without worrying about anything, without procrastinating.

However, to be able to stay at the Polaris Dormitory, a student must prove himself worthy. Most of the students who stayed their were given scholarships and has been scouted by other schools and countries.

To be able to stay there, there were high standards. Really high. Just by thinking about it, Yutarou could feel his self esteem shatter.

For example...

Kazuya was able to stay at the Polaris Dormitory not just because he was the child of owner, but because he had excelled in academics before. One year prior, he and the basketball club had reached the nationals. He was even scouted by many foreign countries but decided to stay in Japan.

Hiroshi, on the other hand, had been participating in baking contests all around the world with the reputation of the Suzuki Academy on the line. He had also been to a cooking competition against Korea and Thailand, of course, he won.

Hime Jiyuu, just like Kazuya, had both excelled in academics and sports. She has joined every Mathematics Quizzes all around Japan and managed to be the champion of each one of them. She had also been boxing ever since her middle school days. At this moment, she had 30 wins, 2 loses, and 5 draws.

Sato Akira, the genius prodigy of Suzuki Academy. He was approached by the academy themselves, proposing to his parents that he'd get a free stay at the Polaris Dormitory and full academic scholarship. He had competed with America, but they were never able to defeat his Science skills, but not just Science, he was great in all subjects. He always, ALWAYS, managed to win with a perfect score. Always.

Nakamura Kenji. He became a worldwide sensation at a very young age. In his teenage years, hundreds of billionaires had been buying his art. That's how great they were. The Suzuki Academy saw his potential and scouted him to their school with free scholarship and stay at the Polaris Dormitory.

Akamatsu Izumi. He is a genius photojournalist. He was reached out by Japan National Press Club. Some of his blogs online has been used by some news network and radio. He was great at handling the camera and getting the perfect angles. The school hires him whenever they had to boast about how great their school is for raising exceptional students.

Yutarou knew that he never had the chance to stay at such a glorious dormitory.
