3 Return

Sung-ho could finally leave.

[Dungeon is collapsing]

'Does that mean I can finally go home!?'

Sung-ho couldn't contain his excitement. He started to cheer and fist pump the air in glee.

'Finally!'

The ground began to shake as the dungeon split in two. The trees started to collapse with each and every shake. The sky seemed to be falling, rocks the size of meteors were hitting the ground casting craters.

Sung-ho put his hand up as one fell on him. The rock shattered like glass the moment it touched his hand.

*Whoosh*

*Thud*

*Boom*

'Damn! I wanted to try throwing it.'

Sung-ho had fought constantly. Every monster he killed was one level earned. But each monster got even stronger than the last. He had to kill two hundred thousand monsters a year to get to where he is now. It was a painstaking process.

[Dungeon closed]

*

The dungeon spit Sung-ho out the same place it took him in. He was laying on the ground at the same alley, only now the alley was rubble. The buildings that surrounded it was nothing but piles of bricks and ash.

"What happened here?"

There was no sound. Only rubble and destruction. Sung-ho started to walk around the abandoned area, looking for clues as to what may have happened.

Sung-ho looked at a flyer posted to one of the remaining brick walls. The flyer sends an eerie message.

"Abandoned Zone: Turn back immediately if you value your life."

'Abandoned Zone?'

Sung-ho continues to advance through the ruins, searching for any possible signs of civilization.

He spots what looks to be a military base in the distance.

'People!'

Sung-ho starts to walk towards the base while looking around for anything else that might seem important.

Sung-ho arrives at the base to see bright lights and guards positioned all around it.

"Hey! You can't be here! You need to turn back now!"

Sung-ho looks confused as he listens to the guard. He was unsure of what language they were speaking.

"What happened here?"

The guard stares at Sung-ho with concern and confusion.

"What do you mean? This place was destroyed ten years ago."

Sung-ho's family lived in this town their whole lives.

"What about the people who lived here?"

"They were evacuated. Ten years ago the first dungeon opened. We didn't know what it was so we evacuated the whole town. Then the monsters started flooding from the dungeon, as if something had spooked them. We luckily already had soldiers here so they dealt with them."

'Good! They're still alive!'

Sung-ho sighed with relief. Now he knew that his family was still alive.

"If it was destroyed then how come you haven't rebuilt it yet?"

"The dungeon is still open. We can't do anything here until the red dungeon closes."

"Huh? Red dungeon?"

The guard looked at Sung-ho like he was asking what 2+2 was. He was utterly confused at his lack of knowledge.

"Yes, a red dungeon. Red is the highest ranked dungeon, then there's orange, followed by yellow, then green, blue, purple, and white is the lowest."

'So it follows the color spectrum?'

"Okay, thanks... Oh! The dungeon closed."

Sung-ho would know as he is the one who entered it. He spent thousands of years there and was only gone for ten years on earth. Once he left, the dungeon closed.

"Hey! Wait!"

Sung-ho paid no mind to the guard as his mind was situated elsewhere.

'Now they can rebuild. And I can move back into my town.'

Sung-ho left the abandoned zone and headed towards Seoul. He figured he would find his family there. He used to live in Anyang which is right next to Seoul, so if his family would be anywhere, it would be there.

*

Sung-ho had maxed out his agility so making it to the outskirts of Seoul was easy. He just ran for a few seconds and he was there.

It still felt like a normal jog for him though. All he did was speed up while the world around him slowed down.

'Ah! Seoul!'

It was mid day so he saw all of it perfectly. He looked around and saw the tall glass buildings and the intricate manhwa graffiti littering the walls of businesses and train stops.

'Ah, nostalgia! Exactly how I remember it!'

Out of the corner of his eye, Sung-ho sees men in armor holding swords and bows standing next to a yellow dungeon.

'What's going on over there?'

Sung-ho walks over to talk to the group. He wasn't sure of what to expect from them.

"What's going on here?"

A tall slender man turns to look at Sung-ho. He scans him up and down.

"What are you? Stupid? We're entering a dungeon to clear it."

"Can't the military clear it, why not go in with guns?"

The man starts to laugh hysterically. He pointed to Sung-ho while calling out to his friend.

"The military can't enter the dungeon without any mana. They can only clear dungeon breaks!"

The men continue to laugh back and forth at Sung-ho.

A shorter girl walks over to Sung-ho and bows her head towards him.

"I apologize for their rudeness! Please forgive our guild for causing a commotion!"

'Guild?... I'll just ask my mother when I see her.'

Sung-ho puts his arm on her shoulder and pats it.

"It's fine."

Sung-ho turns and walks away. He is looking for a police station so he can get in contact with his mother.

**

Sung-ho walks for a few minutes when he spots what he needed. A police station.

Ecstatic, he immediately runs over and walks inside.

"Excuse me sir! How can we help you!?"

Sung-ho walks up to the welcome desk to answer the receptionist's question.

"I would like to contact my mother, I don't know where she is. Her name is, Yoo Chae-yun, mother to Yoo Sung-ho, which is me, and Yoo Ha-yeon, which is my sister."

The receptionist types on her keyboard, looking for Sung-ho's mother.

"I found her! Let me make a few calls."

The officer picks up her phone and dials some numbers on the pad. Sung-ho's mother answers.

"Hello! Is this Yoo Chae-yun?"

"Yes. What do you need?"

"Yes, this is officer Kim, we have a man here who claims to be your son..."

**

"Okay! She lives at @#$%&*@#$%&*!"

Sung-ho was excited to hear her words. He ran out of the police station and towards his mother's address.

**

*Knock* *Knock*

"Who is it?"

Chae-yun opens the door to see a face she hasn't seen in a long time.

"Sung-ho!"

"Mom!"

They embrace each other in a hug as they both cry tears of relief and joy.

(Find any mistakes? If so, please point them out to me. I would like to fix them.)
