17 Preparation (I)

"My liege, the troops for the attack are nearly gathered! Soon we can put an end to those humans!"

Spidrid was the lord of insect monsters. He resembled a spider but could freely change his form into different insects.

Spidrid was directly above Bladepaw, the lord of beasts.

"Good! That's good! Soon we can storm the humans and crush them with our superior numbers!"

Spidrid's army numbered in the thousands.

"Sire... we have one problem..."

"What is it!"

Spidrid had a short temper, and would often yell at his subordinates whenever he felt discontent or discomfort.

The volume of Spidrid's yell made the insect monsters wither in fear. They were shaking at the thought of him angry.

"The human that killed Krolzeth... he could pose a threat to our attack..."

"You dare say he could put up a fight against me!?"

"N-n-n-no sire! I dare not say such a thing!"

Spidrid calms himself. He needed his composure to continue his plans effectively.

"You are right... He could, indeed, put up a good fight! That is why I will take him on, personally!"

Spidrid erupts into smoke as he transforms into a large wasp. Jet-black wings, with an acrylic grey exoskeleton were shimmering in the light from the sun.

'That damn Krolzeth! Stupid demon! He lost to a mere human!.. He had to have let his guard down... or maybe he wasn't even trying!'

Spidrid was scared, but his pride was too great to let him say that. He played off his fear as anger.

"How long until our forces are ready for battle?"

"Six days, my liege!"

The Raider's Conference was four days away. In the meantime, Sung-ho had been relaxing at home with his family.

*Knock*

"Heeeyyy! Is Sung-ho home?!"

Hye-eun was at the door, peering through the window.

Sung-ho had set her up with an apartment close to his house. She insisted on having her own place, she felt awkward staying with Sung-ho and his family.

"Coming!"

Ha-yeon giddily answers the door. Hye-eun has a smile etched across her face, from ear to ear.

Sung-ho notices the expression on her face.

"What are you so happy about?"

Hye-eun didn't stop smiling. Her grin got wider and wider by the second.

She reached behind her back and retrieved an envelope. The envelope was addressed to her.

"I'm now a legal citizen of South Korea!"

She reopens the letter and hands it to Sung-ho.

'Certificate of Citizenship, nice.!'

"Congrats.!"

Hye-eun was happy to be a citizen. It meant she no longer had ties with North Korea, except for her remaining family members.

"I'm so happy for you!"

Ha-yeon embraces her in a tight hug. Hye-eun's smile gets even wider.

*Yawn*

"Gooh mohrnin..."

Soo-bin comes downstairs, yawning as she talks. She had been spending the night with Ha-yeon, more and more often recently.

"Good morning." (Sung)

"Good morning Soo-bin!" (Ha)

Soo-bin waves to Hye-eun, who is still smiling gleefully.

*Vrrrrr*

Ha-yeon grabs her phone from her pocket.

An unknown number was on the phone screen.

"Hello! Who is this?"

'To think the Association would call my sister trying to reach me.! All for a quick dungeon run too.!'

Sung-ho and Hye-eun were summoned to Seoul Metropolitan Station. There was an orange dungeon blocking the train tracks.

Orange dungeons are S rank dungeons. Most often a team of 10-20 S ranks would come to clear this but due to a recent spree of dungeons spawning, Sung-ho was requested.

'I wonder how much orange dungeons will pay.?'

"Here he comes!"

"Mr. Yoo! Mr. Yoo! Can I have an interview!"

Sung-ho motions a hand towards the crowd of reporters. Hye-eun leaps into action, her job was to take care of pesky reporters and annoying raiders.

"Everyone, If you could please gather over here! I will answer any questions you have!"

Hye-eun was great with people. Her years of being a hotel receptionist was perfect for her job as Sung-ho's secretary.

Sung-ho waves to her and enters the dungeon.

*Bzzz*

*Vrrrt*

*Chirp*

'Damn it's bright!'

Sounds of nature filled the air as Sung-ho adjusted to his surroundings.

The dungeon was lush with tall towering trees and green bushes.

'Another forest?'

The forest suddenly falls silent. Not a sound can be heard.

'That's not a good sign.'

The ground begins to shake.

A stampede of human sized ants and other insects are charging through the dungeon.

"Krrrreeeee!"

Sung-ho is spotted by one of the ants.

*Screech*

*Tatatatat*

'Well here they come.'

Sung-ho lightly jumps into the air and slams his fist into the ground.

*Smash*

*Crash*

*Rumble*

Shockwaves from his punch level the ground around him.

The insects begin to stumble as their movement is stunted.

"Kreeee!"

*Flap* (x3)

*Bzzzz*

Sung-ho looks up to see a bright yellow bee, flying down towards him.

*Shhhk*

The bee's stinger extends from within him.

The bee darts downward with it's stinger drawn.

*Bang*

Sung-ho pierces the bee's head with a stick he found on the ground.

"My lord! A human is attacking you troops!"

A humanoid nezarini is bowing before Spidrid. (Nezarini is more commonly known as 'Stink Bug')

Spidrid jerks himself forwards in anger.

"Which human!"

"I don't know... but he's really strong!"

Spidrid transforms into a praying mantis. From his spiny green exoskeleton and his sharp bladed limbs, he oozed danger.

"Is he winning!?"

"Yes... he is..."

His anger was immense. He didn't want his troops to be destroyed before he had the chance to attack the humans.

"Can you handle him!?"

"If given the order, my lord!"

*Skreee*

Spidrid calls his most elite troops.

"These four will accompany you. Kill that human! He can't hold us back!"

There was a rhinoceros beetle carrying a large axe, a stick bug capable of camouflage, a jet black spider with red limbs, and an acrylic black dragonfly, all bowing before their leader.

Menacing creatures were towering over the nezarini.

"Guess this takes care of them all."

*Boom*

"Kekekekeuk! So this is the human!" (Nez)

"This will be easy!" (Rhino)

"Skreeeeuk! For our lord!" (Stick)
