1 Chapter 1 Parting, Death and Rebirth

Jay lived a rather common civilian life in the 21st century. Born in a middle class family, he graduated at school with a rather average grades. At the age of 20 he inherited his family's small barbeque business and by the age of 30 died due to lung cancer. He was never married because of his sexual orientation, luckily his parents already accepted this fact when Jay brought a male lover at home and introduced him to his parents. Just like most people, Jay has a rather timid personality. He hates physical fights, his body is a bit on the weaker side.

On his deathbed, Jay was staring at the white ceiling of the hospital room waiting for his time to come.

'I can feel it.' Jay whispered.

His parents who were on his side heard those words and burst of cries were heard on the room. The feeling of grief and pain filled the entire room.

Amidst the drama that happened. The door to the room opened, a handsome man on his 30s entered in a hurry.

His face was pale and his breathing was hurried. Jay was shocked after seeing the man.

"Why is he here?" He looked at the man with his eyes filled with questions. His parents whispered to him. "Im sorry dear. We broke our promise. We called here."

'It has been 5 years. Still as handsome as ever.' Jay smiled at this thought and then he frowned. His heart ached while at the same time beating fast filled with excitement.

The handsome man was his ex-boyfriend. It was almost a miracle how such handsome guy became Jay's boyfriend. He thought he found the "One" but then reality smashed this delusions. The handsome man was forced to marry to another woman because of his family. This brought unprecedented heart ache to Jay almost killing himself on the process.

The handsome man immediately rushed to his side and then looked at him. His eyes were wandering around his face and then a tear dropped from his eyes. He hugged Jay gently and cried with the most heartwrenching sound.

"Im sorry... Im really sorry. I was too late.. Im sorry." He kept repeating this words while hugging Jay.

Hearing this words Jay was dumbfounded for a while. He was about to reply when his face paled and his breathing suddenly shallowed. The machine on his right suddenly ringed in alarm.

*beep. *beeeeep

The whole room was filled with chaos. His parent suddenly rushed outside the door and called for the doctor. The handsome man was shocked and was about to reach for the emergency button when Jay suddenly held his arms and stopped him. Barely breathing, he spoke with all the strength he could muster.

"I.. I.." unfortunately, he blacked out andthe image on his heart monitor flattened.

*Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Jay Aranas, 30 years old. Died at 3:35 pm Cause of death heart failure due to severely weakened lungs.

At the far end of the wide expanse of trees and forest, a small tribe settlement stood surrounded with walls and fences made up of bamboos. In the middle of the tribe, a young woman wearing garments made of animal skins ran out of the medium sized tent. She was named Ayna, a 19 year old young servant of the tribe chief's second wife.

Ayna ran with all her might to the southern part of the tribe where the chief was currently training the young hunters. Her master Jesa, the second wife of the chief was about to give birth with the tribe leader's third child. Arriving at the training grounds she kneeled on the ground in front of the chief and bowed.

"Tribe leader, Lady Aesa is about to give birth. She calls for you and the shaman." She hurriedly said while maintaining here posture.

The Tribe leader who was talking to the old man that was wearing bone ornaments and grass skirt paused and then a smile formed from his lips.

"A good omen, my child was born at the beginning of spring! Respected one can this be the sign?" The tribe leader Aman's happiness cannot be concealed as hurried into the his home.

The tribe's shaman, a man on his 60s wearing bone ornaments and a skirt made of grass followed the tribe leader to his tent. As the spiritual pillar of their tribe, he does not only preside over ancestral and hunting rites but he is also the tribe's only healer. His knowledge over medicine and wisdom came from his age this his standing is only second to the tribe leaders.

Arriving at the tent where howls of pain from the second lady Aesa can be heared he ordered the other tribe servants to prepare the materials for the child delivery. He presided over the delivery which lasted for 3hours until the child was finally born and the Aesa fainted. The baby was a boy, the second male child of the tribe leader and also the third children of the family.

"What a relief, the child and the mother is safe. The second lady is only tired and resting rest assured Aman." The shaman patted Aman's shoulder.

The Tribe leader didnt mind the way the shaman addressed him. Apart from the shaman who was the tribe elder and the wisest man of the tribe. He is the only one allowed to call him by his name and apart from him everyone has to show respect to him as the strongest hunter of the tribe. Even his wife has to call him Tribe leader or husband.

"I am rest assured because you are the one who delivered the child respected one." He smiled at the elder while his eyes darted to his sleeping wife with the child wrapped in soft snowfox fur.

"It is a good news for our tribe. A good omen it is! After all our population has dwindled since the last raid of the Blood tribe." An expression of relief was seen on the old man. He felt that a part of his burdens were lifted.

In this small tribe worth the population of 70 and only a third of this numbers are able hunters. Due to the raid of the enemy tribe. A third of this abled men were slain or disabled. This almost crippled the tribe, their hunters were few and so, the food was scarce. They manage to survive the winter but spring has started and half of the remaining hunters were left on the tribe to defend it. That is why they were forced to train the young boys who were supposed to be trained 3 years later because of this.

"Our tribe is at its weakest. Young Aman, as the strongest hunter and our leader you must be vigilant and decisive. So that we can survive this crisis until the next winter." The shaman fiddled with his bone bracelet with his face filled with worry.

"Yes respected elder! I will sacrifice my bone and flesh if it needs to be. For the glory of our tribe and the pride of our ancestors! The Sky Tribe will survive!" The spirited Aman swore. His vigorous energy and spirit radiated causing the shaman whose serious face lightened up.

On the Tribe leader's tent where the sleeping Aesa who just gave birth to the young child. The sleeping baby suddenly opened it's eyes.

'HUH? Am in heaven? Why can I only see light?' The confused Jay suddenly frowned, a sudden wave of sleepiness struck him causing him to stop thinking and return to sleep unaware of a small diamond shaped icon floating on his left.
