Saffron city

Saffron City is the largest and one of the busiest cities in Kanto, famous not only within the region but also outside of it. Its bustling environment makes it a hub for business and commerce.

What caught Jun's attention the most was the tallest and largest building in the city. It stood out as the centerpiece of the city's skyline and was the tallest skyscraper in the area. Its impressive height and grandeur left Jun in awe as he wondered what kind of company or organization could afford to build such a structure.

Aunt Mia also followed Jun's gaze and explained, "That's Silph Co. headquarters. The company is the leading manufacturer of Pokemon technology and produces a variety of goods for Trainers, such as the Poke Ball and the Silph Scope. They are basically the industry leader in the Kanto region"

Jun was startled but composed himself, and quickly with his aunt entered the city. As Jun and his aunt made their way into Saffron City, the hustle and bustle of the city greeted them. The streets were busy with people and Pokemon, with various shops, restaurants, and other establishments lining the sides.

As they walked further into the city, Jun noticed the distinct districts within Saffron city. The northeastern corner of the city was dominated by two Gyms and dojos, while the western district was home to a large shopping complex. The city's central district was where Silph Co. headquarters stood tall, with its impressive height and shining glass exterior.

As they approached the little house, Jun noticed a small garden in front of it, with various flowers and herbs planted neatly.

*KNOCK*KNOCK*

"Hello, is anyone home?" Aunt Mia called out

After a few moments of silence, Aunt Mia knocked on the door, but there was still no answer. Aunt Mia knocked the door again and stillno answer.

"Perhaps no one is home," Jun said

She turning to Jun. "We can try another time."

Just as they were about to leave, a middle-aged woman's voice suddenly spoke from behind the door, saying "Come in," startling them.

The door of the house also opened itself, causing Jun and Aunt Mia to glance at each other.

"Then please excuse us," Mia said and entered the house, followed by Jun.

This house is owned by a middle-aged man known as Mr. Psychic. No one knows his real name, but he was formerly a famous Pokemon hunter who always used psychic Pokemon, so people basically called him Mr. Psychic.

Mr. Psychic turned to Jun and his aunt, inviting them to join him for some tea. "Your father already told me the gist of why you're coming here," he suddenly said while looking at Jun.

Jun was taken aback and couldn't help but ask, "Do you know my father?"

Mr. Psychic nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "Your father and I were good friends back in school, before I became a Pokemon hunter and he tried to compete in the Pokemon League," he said, his voice tinged with nostalgia.

Jun was bewildered, "Pokemon hunter? Does the Alliance allow that profession?"

'It's basically an unofficial job, but the Alliance knows about it. They also often issue missions and tasks regarding collecting herbs, medicine, and items from the wild or clearing Pokemon from main roads or containing them during breakouts. We don't do anything illegal basically, and we can't since every mission requires us to check in with our identity card and bank card,' Mr. Psychic replied

Jun nodded and asked, "Why Pokemon hunter then? why not compete in the pokemon league too like my father?

"Jun!" his aunt reprimanded him. That could be a sensitive topic for some people.

Jun was also startled. It was only now that he realized his question was inappropriate. He couldn't help but be curious about this character. While playing Pokemon games in his previous life, there was an NPC character named Mr. Psychic, but there was little information about him since his job only provided players with TM. (TM: Technical Machine, terms in Pokemon games series)

Before he apologize, Mr. psychic just waved his hands indicationg he was okay with it.

"I and your father are different people. I like freedom and I don't like restrictions, so I never thought about joining any organization. Becoming a Pokemon hunter allows me to travel to different places and work whenever and wherever I want. It's a great way to make money and see the world on your own terms. Moreover, you can quickly gain experience and become a more skilled trainer," Mr. Psychic answered.

Jun nodded slightly. What he said was basically true. Every day, seeing his father dealing with gym affairs, basically made him wonder if his father was a gym leader or a corporate leader.

"You want to train your Beldum right?" Mr.Psychic asked

"Yes," Jun replied.

"Let me see your Beldum," Mr. Psychic said.

Jun nodded and quickly released his Beldum. A beam of red light emerged, and Beldum slowly took form.

"Boom~!"

Beldum made a muffled sound and quickly looked around curiously.

"Hmm..Shiny Beldum. Your old man really made a great effort to get this Beldum," Mr. Psychic said and crouched to check Beldum's condition.

After checking it for a while, he said, "Alright, I get it. But first, before we start our training, you need to understand that there are two major types of psychic training for Pokemon. The first type focuses on discipline, and the other focuses on enlightenment. Which one do you choose?"

Jun was confused by this. This was the first time he had heard of this. Seeing Jun's confused expression, Mr. Psychic had a bad premonition.

"You don't know the difference?" he softly asked.

Jun nodded, confirming that he didn't know making Mr.Psychic sighed.

"The discipline type focuses on psychic power by training and practicing skills repeatedly to make progress, while the enlightenment type focuses more on spirituality and the true meaning of Psychic in nature through deep contemplation, meditation, and the study of spiritual teachings," Mr. Psychic explained slowly.

"Now tell me, which one do you choose?"
