My men are not traitors

"The name of the village? Right!, what's the name again?" The minister was stunned after hearing the abrupt question posed to him by Mr. Joe. He hadn't kept the name of the village in mind as it was too insignificant to do so.

Because of the pressure he was currently placed under, he hadn't gotten the will to keep in mind worthless things such as an insignificant village.

"If my memories may serve me right, the village in which the local police is based or operating is called Oframasi.

However, one thing I find confusing is how they got wind of the operation since our operation wasn't under their jurisdiction but under the territory of the Manfe's, a distance away from Oframasi" The minister said after some hard thinking.

"Oh! So it was another village's local police force who was responsible for the failure of your plans but not the local police force of the village in which you were operating? Mr. Joe asked. He was momentarily stunned at the events accounted for by the minister.

"Have the police become this competent?" He thought.

"Right!" The minister responded while staring at Mr. Joe.

"Maybe there's a traitor among your men?" Mr. Joe asked after doing some thinking. That was the only plausible idea he could think of as what happened looked too suspicious.

If there wasn't a traitor among his men who fed the police with information, how could they have gotten news of their operation from a different village?

"Traitors among my men? The minister shook his head as he continued to explain. "Initially, I also had that thought in mind. However, after carefully thinking about it, I discarded that thought."

"Why so?" Mr. Joe asked, staring curiously at the minister. He was eager to know the reason the minister debunked that thought since it seemed to be the only plausible answer to the current situation.

"If there are traitors among my men as you say, then why didn't they offer the intelligence to the Manfe local police force rather than travel a long distance to another village increasing their chances of being caught?

Moreover, none of my men have any relations with that village as they were all recruited from the city after they were strongly scrutinized. " The minister replied frantically.

He believes highly in his men, and he is sure none of his men would do this kind of silly betrayal. Hence, the thought that there were traitors among them was out of the question.

"You seem right though. It's alright. Let's forget about that. It might have as well been a coincidence." Mr. Joe said after taking a sip of his hot Southern coffee.

"That's exactly what I think." The minister replied, heaving a sigh of relief. The thought of his men becoming traitors had truly worried him.

"So what's it that you want me to do? Fondling the cup with his hand, Mr. Joe asked.

"According to the information we have on our end, it's stated that it's one Sergeant by the name of Quaye who is in charge of that place.

I want you to teach him a strong lesson so he would have to think twice the next time something similar happens." the minister said with a hint of madness flashing across his eyes.

"Only that?" Mr. Joe replied, staring stupidly at the minister. He was surprised about how soft-hearted the minister had become in recent years.

He vividly remembers his tenacity and ruthless nature when he first arrived at the organization. He uprooted all those who stood in his way, leaving none alive.

However, he seems to be developing a soft heart as he ages.

"You have other ideas?" The minister asked. It wasn't that he had become weak-hearted. He just wanted to avoid the trouble of having the police under his tail should anything extreme happen to the Sergeant.

One thing the police exhibit 100 percent efficiency in is, locating the person responsible for the death of their people(officers). No matter where you run to, they would do anything within their means to locate you.

"Other ideas? Hahahaha. Kill!!!" As a renowned assassin in the organization and a specially gifted person blessed by the heavens, why should he be afraid of a mere Sergeant?
