Chapter 8 – Unexpected Information

Griffin was even more confused at the sudden message.
"Dark ritual? What's that?"
Griffin wanted to ask Isabella, but the girl looked very busy, it didn't seem like the time was right.

Griffin looked closely at his stats, his level didn't change, and all of his stats increased according to the rewards he received. There doesn't seem to be any problem. His health points were reduced even though he wasn't hit by a monster, so it should have been reduced due to the side effects of the flame sword. But the health point limit also went up, most likely due to the increased vitality effect. As he remembers, health points will indeed increase according to the vitality points they have.
But Griffin was quite curious when he saw his mana points. As he recalled the mana used in the battle just now was quite large. This led Griffin to believe that although wizards could use magic, they didn't have too much mana. Even the strong-looking Isabella didn't use ice magic on a large scale very often. Most likely to save mana.
"So, this amount of mana should be abnormal."

"Thank you for saving her." The woman bowed her body in thanks.
"It doesn't matter, in that condition there is indeed someone who has to help her. Take good care of her." Griffin said while stroking the little girl's head.
"No, if you weren't there I can't imagine what would have happened to her. Thank you so much for helping us all." The woman said with teary eyes. Shows how much she loves her daughter.
After they finished thanking, the two of them left.
The little girl in her arms waved softly at Griffin, and Griffin waved to her too.
"Sweet kid." Griffin spoke quietly.
Mother's appearance just now was very dirty with several wounds that had been bandaged, showing how much trouble she had faced in the midst of this war.
"Griffin"
Isabella came over and called out.
"Yes?"
"Could you come with me for a bit?"
"Where to?"

Griffin was quite curious. In such an emergency, where would they go? Shouldn't they now focus on repairing any damage in this region and helping as many injured people as possible.

"Hi, sorry to suddenly summon you to this place. I'm Edison, squad manager at Lirest. Pleased to meet you." The man introduced himself while holding out his hand.
"Griffin Houston. Nice to meet you, too." Griffin shook Edison's hand.
"I'm Herbert." A man with brown hair also introduced himself.
"Marcello." A tall man but with a friendly impression also introduced himself.
"Joanna." She was the only woman apart from Isabella in the place, from her appearance it seemed that her age was not far from Griffin's.
Edison continued his conversation.
"I saw your fight just now with the mage from Boaren. We are very grateful that you have helped us. If not, I don't know how many more victims there will be."
"It's okay, I'm just returning the favor to Isabella who helped me earlier."
Hearing this, all eyes suddenly turned to Isabella.

"We focus on the problem. Why did you call me and Griffin here?"
Edison, Herbert, Marcello, and Joanna looked at each other, as if deciding who to say this to. Their expressions showed that what they were about to convey was not something good.
Isabella looked at their expressions in surprise, not knowing what they wanted to say. Then she realized with something, there were two people who should have attended but were not there.
"Wait a minute, where's Raymond and Cody?" Isabella asked while looking at each of the four people.
"Who is that?" Griffin asked when he heard another unfamiliar name.
"Raymond Alfredo is the leader of Lirest and Cody is his younger brother. The two of them are the ones who have the most power to speak here. Where are they?"
The question left the four of them even more unsure of what to say. Until finally Edison had to explain what happened.
"Actually, that's the main issue we want to tell. Cody teamed up with the Boaren army to attack Lirest. And as a result of the battle just now, Raymond was captured and brought by the leader of the Boaren."
