'I don't like it, but this is the best option….'

Licht's demenor changed. He popped the bones in his back and waited for the opportune moment.

But just as he was about to do the deed, a familiar blue screen popped up. The contents in it stopped him right in his tracks.

'Huh? Wait…They are showing more info than before, and what is with this plus sign with mortal…'

'Well, not like it matters anyway. They didn't give any good information,' Shaking his head, Licht again waited for the opportune moment.

As the dust cloud settled, the enraged rolling bear was finally coming near the tree he was on.

Its sense of smell was slowly being restored back, but that's what Licht wanted.

GRHH!

A small growl leaked out of the bear's mouth as it finally got near the tree he was hanging on, its eyes directly looking at the top.

Noticing the moment upon him, he summoned and threw the carcass of the ant he had killed down.

With acceleration due to gravity, the ant's body touched the ground in no time, and with that, Licht achieved his goal.

The bear's attention shifted to the splattered body of an unfamiliar thing. It was the first time it was seeing it in the forest.

'Time to…'

"GO!" Licht' shouted as his hands finally left the branch he had held on to.

His body fell at speeds he hadn't ever felt. He felt cold winds blow up on his face which forced him to squint his eyes.

His squinty eyes darted to the bear as he changed his body's trajectory, falling head on the giant animal.

Feeling somewhat amiss, the bear tried to look at where the corpse dropped from.

Its eyes searched for the source, and in the process, he saw a falling human, just that human was close. Too close.

Licht was just some meters away from the bear's head with the sword in his hands, aiming right for the big head of the bear.

'I can end it fast!' an optimistic feeling rose inside Licht.

The bear couldn't make out what was happening, yet its instinct kicked in as it ducked its head.

'FUCK!' Licht's mood dimmed down as he saw the opportunity passing by, and a sense of doom crept up his spine.

If he failed to kill it while also not landing on its body, then he would surely die.

It was almost impossible to kill the bear in a frontal fight. Licht didn't have a drop of the destructive power the bear could conjure with that size.

Gritting his teeth, he rotated his hands and crashed his sword into the bear's back.

The sword slashed down two fourth of its back as it slowed down his descent. It didn't meet any resistance and slid across the bear's back easily.

His sword kept going until its momentum ceased, and it got stuck deep under its muscles.

But he had paid a dear price.

Many of his bones cracked under that force, making him yell in agony. Two yells came out of the previously desolate forest.

GRAHH!

"AGHHHHHH!!"

Licht was in too much pain as his scream outcry even the colossal calamity.

Yet his hands never left the sword, holding it still down on the bear's back. Starting from his hands, his robes soaked under his own and the bear's blood.

Warm blood dripped down his body as he kept crying out in agony. Grinding down on his teeth, Licht started to heal his bones.

Under some seconds of the time frame he now had, every broken bone was to be healed.

"Shit…"

With time ticking down on his neck, Licht healed every broken bone in his body under the time limit, but even with the help of his armor's second trait, he couldn't do it with precision.

The pain from the broken bones subsided while the one from dozens of small spikes on his body spread out.

Ignoring the meager pain, he rotated his sword in its back. He twisted it until the inside of that place became mushy.

Suddenly he noticed that the bear was out of its reverie as it tried to pin him down.

He took out the sword in a frenzy and placed it in his mouth as started to climb up its back.

He aimed to get to the bear's head to give the killing blow, but it wasn't easy to kill that big of an abomination.

Finally noticing that it couldn't kill Licht in conventional ways, the bear took a radical approach.

Licht suddenly stopped his climbing as he felt somewhat weird as if he was flying, and then he saw it.

The bear had jumped high in the air!

Its back was turned to the ground as it tried to turn him into a meat paste!

"No, no, no!"

Looking at the approaching ground in horror, Licht let go of the sword he had planted inside it and jumped far off by kicking its body in an inverted position.

Just as he jumped out of the bear's shadow, a loud crashing sound erupted just as he touched the ground.

A large enough crater had formed with just one jump of the bear.

"Am I fucked?" Licht wryly smiled as his eyes finally locked onto the big predator.

The only reason Licht could even do damage in the first place was because he had dropped from a great height.

He was high enough that even the Bear's body couldn't cushion his fall, yet now he had to perform a similar attack many times.

"Yea, I think I am doomed," he said to himself as he saw the enraged beast sprinting right at his body.

The bear's weight made the ground tremble as his body was nearing Licht's.

Its paw swung down on him when something unexpected happened.
