Encountering Other People For The First Time After Awakening

I really don't want to feel like what I did was a waste, or were humans all so naturally weak-willed and lacked guts? Malachi wondered as he made his way back to the first floor. 

Like the group on the second floor, the people in the store basement also seemed to be shaken by his voice and played dead. 

If they knew he could see them, Malachi wondered what they would think and how they would feel.

Because of the unresponsiveness that he got from the two groups, Malachi was trying his best not to think of the fact that he risked his life for these people just for them to play cowards. 

In more ways than one, Malachi actually understood them and the actions they took, but for someone who had just risked his life, their actions rubbed off on him wrongly. 

Malachi instead tried to force himself to believe that whatever he did was all for the store and to acquire its supplies.
