Into The Forest Of Death.

'One man team? Isn't he at a significant disadvantage? Why would he take the Chunin Exams by himself?' That's what everyone thought when they heard Ibiki call Tendo to the front.

Naruto: 'Hmph! Its that guy!'

Sakura: 'Tendo....'

Tendo got up and took his papers to the front, ignoring all the eyes that were on him. As he got there, Ibiki pointed to one of the examiners that were sitting in the corner not too far away from him.

Ibiki: "Alright, Tendo. Take your paper to the examiner in the corner, and good job answering the last question. If you were taking the normal version just like the rest of them, you would've passed. Good luck."

Tendo took his paper to the examiner and stood there waiting for his papers to be marked. Ibiki started explaining to the rest of the examinees the purpose of the questions and that the hardest part of the exam was the last question. Currently, they were 79 participants left in the exam, including Tendo. The examiner then beckoned to him to get his attention and then gave him a smile.

Examiner: "Congratulations Tendo, you passed the first part of the Chunin Exam. Now you can return to your seat and wait for your instructions."

Tendo: "Thank you."

Tendo smiled inwardly as he went back to his seat, thinking about how easy it was to pass the exam. He hadn't even made a couple of steps before a window at the side of the class was shattered and a shadow rolled into the class and stuck two kunai onto the ceiling, revealing a large cloth with writing on it that said, "Newly Arrived Second Chief Command Officer."

???: "None of you are in any position to celebrate! I am the second chief examination officer, Anko Mitarashi! Time's-a-wastin' people, let's go! Follow me!

As Anko finished her sentence, she looked around the room and saw Tendo standing there, looking at her. She smiled in approval and continued:

Anko: "79 of you are still here?! Ibiki! You passed twenty-seven teams?! Obviously, you went too easy on them!"

Ibiki: "This year we have applicants of exceptional caliber."

Anko: "Yeah right, I'll cut the number down ny half before the next test is done! I get charged up just thinking about it! I'll explain everything in detail once we move to our next location, so follow me! Tendo, come here let me talk to you!"

A while later, everyone could be seen standing in front of a gated forest with Anko and Tendo at the front of the crowd.

Anko: "This is the arena for the second exam, Training Ground 44. Also known as the Forest Of Death!!"

Anko started to explain about the forest of death when Naruto interrupted her and told her that she was just trying to psyche them out. Anko drew a kunai and threw it towards Naruto with it barely scratching his face. Naruto was taken aback by her sudden disappearance and attack, leaving him extremely nervous. She then appeared behind him and put her hand on his shoulder, giving him another scare. A mysterious Kusa-nin, a ninja from the grass village, then appeared behind her with the kunai wrapped up in his elongated tongue.

Tendo: 'Orochimaru huh? This is my first time meeting him. He looks just as weird as he does in the manga.'

And almost like Orochimaru heard him, his eyes darted across to Tendo and locked themselves upon him. He felt Orochimaru's bloodlust as he saw the man licking his lips when he looked at him. Tendo wasn't even surprised at his actions as he turned away from him and listened to Anko's instructions on the geography and rules of the forest of death. As she was finishing up, another examiner came and told her it was time to sign the consent forms just in case they die. Konoha didn't want to be responsible for it. It was also time for them to collect the Heaven and Earth scrolls to begin the exams. That's when Anko turned to him and her look softened up immediately.

Anko: "Tendo, this will be a hard exam. The last one was too easy for you but I expect no less, as you are my student hehe. This time, you wouldn't start off with any scrolls as you have to get both. The chances of you being eliminated are extremely high but I doubt any of them can defeat you in combat. Although I dont like the fact that you have to blindfold yourself in such a situation, I can't do much about it at this point. Be careful."

Tendo: "Understood, Anko."

Anko: "Heh, you always give me these short answers. Well, it's better than nothing."

Tendo left and went to the place that he had to sign the papers and went to a gate to wait for the exams to begin. He pulled a bandage with a seal on it and tied it around his eyes. The seal was used to block his byakugan from seeing through the bandage. He then took out a few chain beads and tied it around his arms and legs to add weights on them. These were all the tools the old man wanted him to pass the exam with.

Tendo: 'Five days in this forest without sight. This will be extremely difficult as my life is on the line but it's not impossible. I was never one to give up a challenge. I have a few targets that I need to steal chakra from in this exam. Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara, and maybe anyone else that interests me. I should also work on upgrading my life steal to the next level so that the memory restriction isn't there anymore. The exam should be starting anytime now..'

Anko: "Part two of the Chunin Exams begins...Now!!"
