Just a Simple Apology

When Jonathan whispered this, it was ahead, so only he could hear it, and he said, "The only reason you're alive is that I forgot about a common mosquito like you, someone insignificant that I can crush with a single thought."

Yina took a sip of her juice. She didn't see Nick's reaction. She only thought one thing: 'I should have sat somewhere else. I can't see his terrifying face; I feel like he looks really cool.'

Nick tried his hardest not to cry.

At first, he thought Yina was going to be an obstacle to Jonathan saying anything scary. Then he was glad Yina was here, as that would reduce the chances of Jonathan attacking him, or so he thought. But after seeing that she was not an obstacle at all, he thought, 'I can't let her see me cry!'

Yina understood Nick's fear. Jonathan was very scary, and they had to be afraid of him since his abilities made him one of the most powerful people she had known so far. Her dad traveled to the past through happy dreams, her grandmother saw the future in dreams, and her aunt could fly.

Nothing was as extraordinary as being able to manipulate physical things with the mind. Her friend was not only fast but also strong; he could fly and move heavy things with just a thought. Who would be stronger than someone with those same qualities?

After saying that, Jonathan smiled slightly, patted Nick's arm, and sat back down. "I'm trying to change; at least that's what I think if I don't get bored. So, as an apology, you can call me for anything you need my help with if it's not a bother."

However, despite this outcome, Yina felt a bit bitter.

Nick's face contorted while his eyes were teary.

'What? Really? I hope he can be trusted; I've already suffered enough thinking all the time about possible outcomes for my apology!'

"Do you have something you want me to do?" Jonathan asked as he leaned back in his chair and put his feet up on the table.

Nick looked around, hesitating to say what he was thinking. "I... I can't say it here."

"I know a place that has privacy at school," Yina responded, fully involved in the conversation.

"Or you can just send me a text message." Jonathan raised his phone, tapping it lightly on his forehead.

Yina frowned at this; she wanted to know.

"No, better to talk in private."

"Alright…"

When both agreed to talk things over, Yina followed Jonathan and Nick, who were heading to the emergency stairs.

'Has Yina been influenced by this psychopath!? I saw her that day; she was scared and ran away. Did Jonathan catch up with her and do something strange!?'

Nick clenched his fists when he thought about this. He liked Yina, but knowing what was happening—maybe she had hybristophilia or Stockholm syndrome—these ideas made him angry because Yina is an innocent girl.

'Influenced by Jonathan? I don't think that's the case. Besides, that's what happens due to intimidation; Jonathan never intimidated me, and to some extent, I understand his behavior.' Yina thought while following the duo.

Alicia headed to the emergency stairs and saw them. The class president expected them to use that place. When she was about to stop waiting, she finally saw the three approaching.

When the three entered there, she followed them.

"I don't think anyone can hear us here. What's going on?" Jonathan sat on the backrest of his usual seat when he tried to talk things over with Yina. But this time, Yina was sitting next to him while Nick was on the lower level.

Nick swallowed and nodded. When he was about to speak, Yina raised her hand.

Jonathan raised an eyebrow when Yina stood up and went out to see Alicia hiding and apparently eavesdropping too.

"What are you doing here, class president?" Yina asked with doubt in her words.

However, Alicia was not intimidated by the introverted girl.

"Didn't I tell you this place is off-limits?"

"But I thought you'd only report us if there's something inappropriate going on, like having sex, right?"

Alicia was speechless at first before smiling, or she hoped the introverted bean could play these kinds of games.

"Then, if there's nothing inappropriate..." Alicia walked around Yina and entered. "Let me join you."

Upon entering, she saw an unusual scene. Nick was below, sweating and nervous, while Jonathan was sitting above, calm and serene. His personality had completely changed from what she was familiar with.

"What are you doing here, Jonathan?" Alicia loved the idea that Jonathan was actually fierce under his sheepish appearance.

Yina entered right after and silently looked at Alicia with those dirty thoughts.

Jonathan smiled back. "Nothing; Nick just wanted to tell me something. However, he forgot what it was, and now we're waiting for him to remember."

"Is… So it's just that." Alicia then thought inwardly: 'Careless excuse that I can't refute, but surely they were planning a threesome or Nick intimidated Jon's cat; this is interesting.'

"Do you remember now, Nick?"

Nick wasn't stupid, and he shook his head. "Sorry. I'll tell you once I remember."

"Hm? Nick, why are you suddenly so docile and shy today?" Alicia asked suddenly in such a direct manner.

"Huh?"

Yina soon responded, setting aside her introverted personality, and said, "He just came from an accident. If that doesn't change you a bit, you should question the reality you live in."

She was still standing while Alicia sat where she was before. Her eyes narrowed towards the class president, obviously not feeling her own jealousy.

"I guess you're right. Nick, what kind of accident did you really have?"

Nick swallowed and trembled.

'What does this bitch want? When did these people become so terrifying? Though they're not as dangerous as Jonathan, these two girls give me chills.'

"I don't think it's appropriate to ask that. It could be traumatic for him, right?" Yina was the one who responded again.

"Sorry about that, then. But why are you answering, Yina, and not him?" Alicia turned around, and the two made eye contact.

There was a period of silence. Nick felt more pressure while Jonathan scratched his head, wondering if Yina wanted to break that meddlesome girl's nose, which actually excited him. But knowing Yina didn't have the strength to do that, he asked, "Do you have free time later today, Nick?"

"Yes, of course, I have time."

"Then, let's go back to class for now. It's a bit hot here." Jonathan left without saying more words, a little bored by this childish result.

Before following him, Yina looked at Alicia one last time before turning around.

Leaving Alicia and Nick on the stairs, Yina heard a series of thoughts that Alicia hadn't said out loud, which she greatly disliked.

'Poor fool with lack of attention.' Yina thought in response.

While Alicia cursed in her thoughts, Nick just watched as the kind-class president's expression changed to a fiercer one, to the point where she shouted curses.

'Why are people at this school like this!? I thought I was the bad one!'

Returning to the classroom, Jonathan sat quietly and moments later fell asleep, while Yina found a comfortable position to stare at him.

'What happened to Nick?' The class thought as they saw Yina behaving a bit closer to Jonathan.

Only when she heard her classmates' thoughts did Yina stop staring at them.

Meanwhile, in the teachers' lounge, Gerardo was taking his morning break when suddenly his phone rang.

"Huh?"

The moment he saw the message, he almost spat out what he was eating.

"This guy really just walked through the school gate. What is he thinking? Does he think he's superior between the two of us?"

Meanwhile, those who could see outside noticed a car entering through the gates. That's when a tall, muscular man with a long coat and sunglasses got out.

"Oh, look at that hunk!"

One of the students pointed at the older man.

'What a bitch; she likes older guys.' I thought of a first-year boy who was reading a book about extinguishing an ideology.
