[#001]: Amazing Magical Ability

― God! How much did I drink last night? ― I furrowed my brow and squeezed my eyes shut. I was frustrated. I was going through the worst headache of my life, as if my head was about to explode. Every beat of my heart felt like a hammer striking my skull. It hurt so much that I couldn't even think clearly. I felt as if I were in the middle of a cloud of pain and couldn't get out of it. Every time I moved my head, it felt like a dagger was piercing my brain. It was, without a doubt, the worst fucking headache of my life.

I felt a strange object in my hand, which didn't look like a phone, a laptop, or a beer can; instead, it looked like some kind of toy gun. As soon as this realization appeared in my mind, ignoring the headache that I felt when moving, I sat up in bed with horror and directed my gaze towards my hand. Because if that was there, then it meant that nothing that had happened was a dream...

― Fuck... I can't believe that actually happened ― I can say that, with absolute certainty, that was the most shocking moment of my entire life. I really didn't know whether to feel happy, fascinated, afraid, or worried, because what I was feeling was a mixture of all of them. It was a mystery to me what to feel exactly at that time.

Not more than twenty-four hours ago, I was in the Other Life, having a conversation with God for who knows how long before we finally came to the conclusion of what would happen to me next, and now I was inhabiting a body, someone in their twenties, in a new world, with a clean slate, with a totally new identity, and most importantly of all, I was alive.

This world, according to what I really bothered to investigate thanks to the internet and my own memories of my life in this world, is not a very different world from my original one in broad strokes. Of course, it has its slight differences; it's normal when there exists a huge network of universes after all. In fact, it would be weird if there were no difference, no matter how minimal, from one universe to another.

Not to mention that, in the end, that would mean that I could find myself again on my Earth and that my grave could probably be somewhere in my country of origin... or my ashes. And honestly, I absolutely refuse to fight against those stupid philosophical thoughts like "Is that person really me or were their memories implanted on me...?".

A question that I prefer not to waste my time looking for an acceptable answer to.

So, in that regard, I was happy not to have to.

In broad strokes, it could be said that the "major" changes are the names of the countries, how history developed in terms of who were the winners and who were the losers, etc. As well as there are some changes in the general geography and demographics of the world. These data served me as a clue that I was now in a different Earth. Luckily, I took the body of someone who at least knows what a school looks like from the inside and who has internet at home. Otherwise, it would have taken me a little longer to realize all of this.

On the other hand, even though I am still a normal human, I was not thrown into this place to my luck, as I obtained something well-known as a "Reincarnation Bonus". As for the identity of this bonus, it is the magical ability to "interact with the other side of screens". Proof of the functionality of this ability is the toy gun in my hand. Yesterday, when I woke up in this new world, the first thing I did after seeing what kind of world I was in was to see how true it was that I had a "magical power".

That's how I learned some important aspects of it. To begin with, I can freely insert parts of my body into screens, opening something like a stable wormhole to the dimension "behind the screen". I can interact with creatures and objects on the other side, but it only works if a series, movie, short film, etc, is playing on the "other side". If the video itself is paused, the power is not applicable.

Second, I am limited to the size of the screen in the sense that I cannot pull out a nuclear bomb or a Gundam from a laptop screen, but I can easily pull out a gun. Third, the objects taken from a series are more like copied than stolen. Taking an object from a movie does not alter how it develops, nor does it remove that element from the movie.

Fourth, the extracted object is slightly modified for my use. For example, as part of yesterday's tests, the first thing I did was take Judge Dredd's gun, which, as we know, can only be used by him unless you want to receive an electric shock, but in my hands, it worked correctly, as if I were its owner. It didn't give me an electric shock, and it perfectly obeyed my commands to switch modes. As for whether it shoots or not, I assumed it did, although I didn't test it. I'm not an idiot. As exciting as it would be to have that cool gun, there's no way I'll use it in my house or even in the backyard. That would just raise unnecessary questions from my neighbors.

Therefore, I assumed that any extracted object would be modified so that there are at least no problems like those, where they can only be used by a specific being, such as a genetic lock, etc.

Although when it comes to things like the Infinity Stones from the MCU, I am still in doubt. They do not have a genetic requirement, or can only be used by a specific person, they can really be used by anyone, as long as they are strong enough. Because otherwise, you would just die trying. And although it is perfectly plausible to believe that maybe this power would modify them to lower their requirements, the reason they have such a requirement is because of their great power. Surely, if the requirement is lowered, so will their powers, and considering that I am garbage compared to beings like Thanos or Odin, they would surely become stones that can only do parlor tricks

On one hand, I would be disappointed, whereas on the other hand, I would die within seconds. So, in summary, whether they were altered by my power or not, it wasn't worth trying to confirm which was the case at this moment. Maybe in the future.

And fifth, just as I can only extract things limited by the size of the screen in question, the same goes for my body. When I put my head into the television, I could see the other side, I could see with my own eyes the world that was playing on my TV, but my shoulders didn't fit, so I couldn't go further with the test. So, potentially, it's possible to enter worlds of movies, series, anime, etc, as long as I have a screen of the required size. Although if that's really true, remains to be seen.

In any case, the toy gun in my hand is the gadget called the Evolution-Degeneration Beam, from the manga/anime Doraemon. As a user of this power, it was impossible for me not to start taking interesting things that could make my life easier or more interesting, and naturally, I visited the Doraemon anime after searching on its wiki fandom. This particular world was full of strange but useful technological gadgets outside of the comedy that served as the base in the world of Doraemon and Nobita. As proof of that, there was this odd-looking gun, which is capable of evolving or devolving/degenerating anything, be it living or inanimate targets.

Naturally, I put it to the test yesterday. I didn't decide to acquire it for nothing. It doesn't explode anything, it doesn't make a particularly loud noise, nor does it have a flashy appearance beyond seeing a man in his twenties with a toy gun, so I clearly made use of it. As curious as a wild Nobita, I used it on a little bit of everything to see what would become of them in the future, but at some point, its beam ended up falling on my beer can. It evolved a thousand years into the future, and I drink it... of course, you know the story after that...

it was definitely the best beer of my life, but the pain afterward just wasn't worth it.

[WARNING]: I am not a bottle of motivation and inspiration, I am not always in the mood to write, don't expect me to create chapters like breads, they will come out when I am motivated, write them and re-edit them. So the wait can be long almost certainly, so if you like what you read, add the story to your library and wait patiently!
