Chapter 9 Drake's call 2

Oh, I am.sorry boss. Elena apologized.

Miss Elena! Drake's voice suddenly became serious. We are not at the office please call me Drake.

Uh okay b-boss, I mean Drake. So b-bo, Elena almost bit her tongue when she discovered she almost made the same mistake again.

I mean Drake, so why d-did you c-call,Elena starmarred.

I just called to inform you that in a month from now, the company will be having it's tenth anniversary so I called to inform you about it.

OH! Elena exclaimed.

But Laila could have just told me at work tomorrow. Why did you have to go through the trouble of calling me? Elena questioned.

I personally called you because you saved the company from disaster and that was a huge thing you did. No matter what I do, I can never repay you for what you did.So even if I call you it's no big deal.Okay Miss Elena, it's a good thing I called you because if I hadn't called, you won't have remembered that tomorrow is Saturday so you don't have to come to work.

Oh, I am sorry. I don't know what is happening to me, I completely forgot that tomorrow is a weekend. I am very stupid at times, Elena blurted.

Drake bit his lower lips to stimulate the chuckle that was about to come out. He didn't want to embarrass her further by laughing at her.

Okay Miss Elena, I have to go now.

Drake wait! Elena stopped Drake before he could drop the call.Please call me Elena.

Alright Elena, I have to go now, Drake said and dropped the call.

As soon as the call was over,Drake let out a loud laugh.

Haha Hahaha, Elena you really do amuse me.

Charlotte came back home a few minutes after Drake's call.She came in silently so Elena won't be startled but what she saw next surprised her.

Elena was seated at the dinning table and she seemed to be in a daze.

Charlotte walked up to Elena and called,

Elena, Elena! but Elena didn't seem to hear a thing.

Elena! Charlotte yelled.

Elena snapped back to reality at the sound of Charlotte's yell.

Huh! Elena gasped. She was startled by Charlotte.

Elena what is wrong with you? Charlotte asked.

When did you get back? Elena didn't reply she just asked Charlotte in return.

I got back a few minutes ago but when I came in you were dazed.You seemed to be in some sort of fantasy world.Charlotte said to Elena.

Charlotte please pinch me.

What! Charlotte exclaimed.

Please pinch me Charlotte, Elena requested.

Okay, Charlotte replied and pinched Elena on her arm.

Ouch, Elena winced.

What did you do that for Charlotte? Elena yelled.

Elena are you sure you are okay? Charlotte asked.

Of course I am, why would you even ask that? Elena yelled again.

I asked that because you asked me to pinch you and I even asked you again for confirmation and you said I should do it. And now I did what you asked but you are yelling at me.

Are you sure you have not lost your mind? Charlotte asked again.
