16 Chapter 16 Aren't you supposed to ask me?

"Elene, you really are an interesting person, I must say....I mean you're such a simple and kind hearted person".

"I for one think your simplicity is what attracts people towards you, I mean you are simply amazing", Drake complimented.

"Thanks for the compliment", Elena said.

After their short conversation, Elena didn't say anything else.

Drake patiently waited for her to ask him a few questions about himself but the woman said nothing. She was perfectly still and silent.

After a few minutes of which seemed to be like forever, Drake couldn't take it anymore. He decided to remind her himself. He might seem childish but he wanted Elena to know everything thing about him the same way he does about her. He wanted them to have a special bond, he wanted them to be close to one another.H is aim at this point was to develop a special friendship with Elena. He didn't want a boss and employee relationship, he wanted friendship. He wanted Elena's trust, that was all he truly needed.....

"Ahem", Drake cleared his throat.

"Elena, don't you think you are forgetting something?" Drake questioned.

"Like?" Elena was simply confused now.

"Aren't you supposed to ask me something?" Drake asked.

"Huh?"Elena scratched her head confusingly.

"Was I supposed to ask him something?"Elena asked herself.

"Was I supposed to ask you something?"Elena asked Drake.

"Sigh....What was I expecting from this woman!" Drake said to himself.

"Elena we're friends right?" Drake asked.

"Right", Elena responded.

"As friends, aren't we supposed to know everything about each other?" Drake asked again.

"Uhm....I guess".

"So..."

"So.....?"Elena was in utter confusion. She had been trying to understand Drake but she couldn't quite fathom what he was saying so she decided to speak up.

"Uh Drake... I must confess, though you are trying to tell me something, I still can't decipher what you are trying to say...I mean I'm very confused".

"Elena, aren't you supposed to ask me about myself?" Drake uttered through gritted teeth. He shouldn't react this way but he was really frustrated now. Elena was so very clueless about certain things which is very bad because she won't be able to survive in this world if she's like this. Not that he won't be by her side but what of times where she would have to be alone,How would she survive?

It seems there's a lot she needs to be taught about the world...

Oh!!! ..... Elena uttered in embarrassment. She felt embarrassed because she couldn't understand such a simple thing.

Drake had given her so many hints but she was completely oblivious to every single one of them.

"Elena, you really are a stupid woman", she said to herself.

Elena thought for a while about the appropriate question to ask Drake....

"Tell me everything about yourself".

Well..."I'm a lover of basketball, I own my very own company which makes me your boss since you work in my company", Drake said teasingly.

"I love working which is obvious to maintain my physique."

"I'm a nature lover, I love the colour green and I love working". That's all I can tell you for now, when we know each other better you will eventually know more about me", Drake said with a warm smile plastered on his face.

"Uhmm.... Elena. can you dance?"

Elena who was taking a sip of her juice at that time suddenly choked on it.

Cough, cough cough, Elena tried calming herself down.

Drake moved closer to Elena and ever so gently patted Elena's back until finally she calmed down.

"Why'd you ask?" Elena questioned after regaining her lost breath.

"Like I said earlier, we're friends and I want to know everything about you, if not everything at least some minor things", Drake said as a matter of fact.

"Well..... I do know how to dance, I went for dance lessons when I was a child so I think I know a few steps. Though it's been a while since I last danced but I'm sure a little practice will get me running", Elena responded.

"In that case, will you accompany me to the party being held at the company in a month's time?"Drake asked.

What!!!.... Elena exclaimed.

"What did you say?" Elena questioned. She needed to be sure she heard him correctly.

"Did he just ask me to attend the party with him?" Elena questioned herself. She couldn't quite believe what she just heard...
