2 Chapter 2 : your name was?

Gazing into his eyes, I found myself lost in a world of our own. His eyes were a window to a paradise, a perfect haven where we could exist, just the two of us.

His gentle nudge, a silent cue, pulled me back to reality. I rose from the ground, steeling myself for the race ahead. The anticipation was palpable, the tension, tangible.

The sound of approaching runners echoed in my ears, serving as a sharp reminder of the task at hand. My focus shifted, my mind refocused on the race.

With determined strides, I neared the finish line. The adrenaline coursing through my veins masked the pain in my knees. I was oblivious to the injury that was slowly creeping up on me.

My crush, who had been at my side, suddenly surged ahead. His athletic frame moved with grace and speed. He raced ahead to take first place, his victory met with cheers from our classmates. Yet, despite the sting of defeat, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for him.

But I was not alone in my struggle. He returned to my side, his victory seemingly forgotten.

He placed my arm over his shoulder, supporting me towards our shared goal. Our hands entwined, a silent celebration of our shared journey.

The cheers of our classmates faded into the background, replaced by the steady rhythm of our hearts.

Crossing the finish line was a blur. The crowd's cheers, the applause, it all seemed distant and muted. Because at that moment, I realized my true victory was not the race, but the bond formed with him.

My joy was so overwhelming that I forgot about my injuries, causing me to trip. But, his quick reflexes kept me from falling. His arms, strong and comforting, wrapped around me, steadying me.

He guided me to a nearby bench to rest. His concern was evident in his furrowed brows and the gentle way he handled me.

He left briefly, returning with a bottle of water from a vending machine. I thanked him, cherishing every moment spent together.

We sat, engrossed in conversation, while the race continued behind us. The sound of the starting gun, the cheers of the crowd, it all faded into the background. I was so engrossed in the competition that I almost forgot he was beside me.

As the last runner crossed the finish line, he leaned in, whispering something in my ear. His voice was soft, almost drowned out by the roar of the crowd.

I strained to hear him, but his words slipped away, lost in the cacophony. I was too distracted by the excitement of the race, the adrenaline still pumping through my veins.

Soon, the teacher gathered us for the announcement. The crowd fell silent, the air thick with anticipation. He offered me a piggyback ride back to the field.

Despite my protests, he insisted. His strong arms around me, carrying me effortlessly, left me speechless. His kindness, his gentle nature, it all left me in awe.

Pretending to fall asleep, I remained in his comforting embrace. The world around us faded away, replaced by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.

The next thing I knew, I was in the clinic's bed. Looking around, I found him standing with a guitar.

He explained that he wanted to serenade me. His voice was soft, almost shy. I listened in awe as he sang a self-composed love song.

His voice, his words, they all tugged at my heartstrings. It was during this intimate moment that I realized I didn't know his name.

Interrupting his song, I introduced myself as Van, and asked his name. "Gavriel Reed Eugenio, but you can call me Gavvy," he replied. His name, like him, was unique and beautiful.

The school bell rang, signaling the end of the day. Though I insisted he leave, he chose to stay, keeping me company. We lay together on the small bed, his arms wrapped around me.

His warmth lulled me into a peaceful slumber. His presence, his touch, it all felt too good to be true.

As I drifted off to sleep, I could feel his gaze on me. His eyes, warm and gentle, watched over me. His arms, strong yet gentle, held me close. I could feel his heartbeat, steady and reassuring.

His warmth, his scent, it was all so comforting. I felt safe, loved, cherished.

And so, I fell asleep, wrapped in his arms. His warmth, his presence, it was all I needed. I fell into a deep, peaceful sleep, lulled by the rhythm of his heartbeat.

As I drifted off, I couldn't help but smile. Because I knew, I had found my paradise in his arms.

As I woke from my slumber, I found myself still enveloped in Gavvy's embrace. His face was serene, his eyes closed in sleep. It was as if time had stopped, preserving this moment of tranquility. I gently traced my fingers down his cheek, causing him to stir. His eyes fluttered open, meeting mine.

"Good morning, Van," he murmured, his voice husky from sleep. His words sent a warm shiver down my spine. I responded with a sleepy smile, my heart fluttering at his gentle greeting.

He tightened his hold around me, pulling me closer. Our faces were mere inches apart, our breaths intermingling. His gaze was intense, full of emotions that made my heart race.

"Van," he whispered, "I want to tell you something." His words hung in the air, heavy with anticipation. I nodded, urging him to continue. His next words, however, were drowned out by the sudden ringing of the school bell.

"Wait for me here," he said, while he was looking into my eyes before leaving the room. As I lay there, waiting for his return, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. . Because I knew that soon this sweetness will give us an opportunity to become more intimate to each other and may end up being lovers.
